1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Mt. Gox BTC withdrawals down as well... YIKES on: January 29, 2014, 10:23:26 PM
I am AML verified and requested a relatively small ~1.5 BTC withdrawal - should be a simple, automated process, right?

Nope - 72 hours and 2 support tickets later... still radio silence.

I don't know if Mt. Gox is 1) sinister or 2) utterly incompetent, or 3) both...  But Mt. Gox expects the public to trust them with their hard-earned money?  LOL.

Any suggestions as to how to resolve this?  Also, any suggestions as to a BTC exchange that doesn't make me feel like I am walking down a dark alleyway in Tijuana?

Great - thanks for the response Mike - I really appreciate it.  Makes sense, as confirmations have indeed been taking longer than usual and I didn't realize it required 10 on the initial transfer.  Thanks again and keep fighting the good fight!

I saw mention from Gavin (https://bitcoinfoundation.org/blog/?p=135) that some transactions in the past week have taken extra long to confirm due to the network transaction volume sometimes exceeding the 250kB/block size limit, so this may have added some delay to your scheme. I try to minimize my logging, so I can't tell exactly, but it looks like your tx took about 2.5 hours to reach 10 confirmations.

All good?

Peace,
Mike

And they don't deserve a single bit of it.

Coinlab is probably rethinking that partnership...

Today is the day the bitcoin community traded so much that everyone ended up giving their bitcoins to Mt.Gox.

When I last used BitInstant, it automatically defaulted to ZipZap.  What's the difference between the two?

Do they ask for ID when sending a moneygram, or is the process anonymous?

If they become more mainstream, I can only assume that they have more intrinsic value due to the fact that they are accept more widely.  However, we have their value crash before, so I would be very careful, if I were you.

12  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitcoinlaundry.com Didn't work on: February 27, 2013, 10:05:53 PM
I sent BTC from my e-wallet to my Laptop Wallet via bitcoinlaundry.com, which I believe is developed by a user here... I was charged the "laundry" and transactions fees but there was no mixing performed at all... I received the BTC directly from the address I sent the BTC to...  Has anyone else had a similar experience with this site?

Blockchain.info also shows a 99+% taint level on that transaction.

Please help!  If anything, I'd like the fees back for the service.
