I created an easy to follow Walk Threw for installing cgminer with OpenCL for AMD/ATI video cards on Ubuntu.

Hope it helps.
2  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: cgminer tells me my pushpool server is dead!! ? on: March 03, 2013, 12:02:27 AM
This setup is for learning purposes, so I will reinstall the server and set it up from scratch once I get this figured out
the pushpool server is by its self on one machine with bitcoind running.
the cgminer is on another machine connected to the network.

any one have any idea what I have done wrong??

3  Bitcoin / Mining support / cgminer tells me my pushpool server is dead!! ? on: March 02, 2013, 11:13:56 PM
I'm freeeeee  Grin from the newbie corner!  Roll Eyes Now I can actually ask the question that brought me here in the first place...

trying to set up a private pushpool server for my network.

I have read many many posts here on how to do it. however it seams there is no complete guide in doing so and every post in regards to setting up a pool server uses different ports, this quickly becomes very difficult to understand for one that is new to doing this..

I have posted in the newbie section here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=147802.0 because of restrictions of the forum.

I would be very grateful for any help in fixing this issue so I may begin mining for my self.

I can't see how to do it, only see a setting under "options" for "Optional transaction fees", which can make other then 0.00000000 and that only adds extra tx fees to already default fee.

I also do not see any way around having to pay a fee for transferring my bitcoin (dust) to another account.... every where I turn, it seams i am paying a fee of some kind or another when trying to traid/convert/spend/use bitcoins.....

I want to be a node and collect fees for nothing too. any ideas on how to do this? Huh
5  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Huge list and tips of getting Free bitcoins, Found! on: March 02, 2013, 10:46:43 PM
another repeat of the same list!

only wrapped in coinurl format....... this should be considered spam simply because its a repeat of another list. this is just an attempt to pad the wallet of the list provider........

So essentially jobs come from small companies.
Small companies are currently being drowned in over regulation.
Small companies are finding it virtually impossible to gain access to small ($100K to $1M) amount of capital.
Small companies crushed under regulation and lacking accessible source of capital tend to no expand or expand slower.

Yes this is very true...

I was forced to close my business in Texas because of the tax's and regulations, they were bleeding my dry, food stamps now pays more then trying to operate or maintain a small business.  Roll Eyes
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: can someone explain this to me? on: March 02, 2013, 10:22:29 PM
such as the California gold rush back in (1848–1855) no miners ever got rich, only the business associated with the miners ever made any mentionable profits.... history seams to be repeating its self in a sense but in a digital way. trying to transfer/spend/convert your digital currencies require you to pay fees not to mention if you do get to convert your coins to cash there is a fee to get your cash and even pools taking from 1% - 3% right off the top. I see no way to actually make a descent profit by mining.

Setting up your own public pool and bleeding other miners seams to be more profitable in the long run.

or perhaps I’m just having a bad day.... the above is only my opinion thus far.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk needs to be more noob friendly on: March 02, 2013, 10:06:53 PM
yes the newbie corner is not a good idea because you cant get any answers to questions regarding and issues you may have regarding mining or pools, so i have to spam other threads in order to get to the technical support.....  Roll Eyes

3 things to know about new technology.....

1. never never climb aboard the new release train.....

2. never never climb aboard the new release train.....

3. never never pay top dollar for new products that have not been tested in the real world.....

Hmmmm! ya I will wait for a few product reviews and perhaps a year or so after that be for I would decide to invest in one of these..

I still have a pny 1gb memory stick / thumb drive that I just had to have, got it when they first came out. It cost me a little over $70.00 USD. yes I will be buried with it.  Grin

in just the short time that I have been monitoring the BTC chain, I have seen its worth rise considerably, I must say that it is rather popular and is being incorporated into many websites and even games now. so as a guess I would say that BTC will be around for quite some time to come.  Grin

14  Other / Beginners & Help / cgminer reports my pushpool server is dead...... on: March 01, 2013, 02:26:40 AM
This is has been a real fun adventure thus far. for several days now I have been reading in this forum and have been working on setting up my own local pushpool server, I would like to invite a few friends to once it is up and working correctly, bitcoind is up and running, pushpool is running and reports initialized, and I also have miningfarm for the front end, mysql database is set up, every thing appears to be working properly untill i try to connect with cgminer, after i add the poolinfo http://networkipofserver:8343 and then add user.miner for user and a password. i get "Enabled Dead Priority 4:" for my local pool, I have tried every port that that is open on the server only 8343 will show up in pushpool as "client host ip port #### connected". however nothing is being mined and cgminer will not connect to the pool.

ya sorry my head is really spinning here and I have tried every thing I could to get it to connect.
