Heads up for those that have the node running on your apollo. I have not checked mine in weeks but today I went to check on the node and etc.  For some reason it stopped but my miner was still working.  Not sure how long it was offline.

Batch-3 Apollo Miner - full node is up and running !! Along with its siblings Batch-1 (3) and Batch-2 (1) ... Happy mining

nice!

Hello, I've got two questions:

1. My node never reaches 16/16, stuck for a week on 15/16, is this expected?

Seems normal cuz mine been sitting on 10/16 for the last 3 days when i checked.

ahh ok  thanks for the explanation.  Will adjust it to just one node instead.

As of port forwarding, depending on which router you have you can config it to allow more than one.  I have an edgerouter and i was able to manually set both of my apollos via port 9333 via NAT rule.

update:

and success, the dashboard loaded! but I had no connections - I think the issue is that I have port 9333 forwarded for the node that runs on my PC - I had to remove that port forward from the pc's ip address and set it for the Apollo's ip address. Rebooting node and will see if that resolves it.

update:

after I shut down node, it gave me an error about displaying stats. I should have taken a screenshot and will if I see it again. I simply restarted the Apollo and once in hit start on the node - while waiting, the apollo has shut down twice - each time I have to restart the node. putty cannot get in to the miner while this is happening either. I am tired and going to bed - I get up in 4 hours for work. After I get going at work, I will revisit this again.

final update:

as you would have it, I was walking away and the Apollo shut down. So, of course I turned around and sat back down. This time the node restarted itself upon booting up - maybe that was the issue? the last two times it restarted, I was hitting start on the node instead of letting it do itself.

I have 12 connections however, my full node/wallet has only 8 (the standard outbound) due to the port forwarding issue - anyone know of a solution so I can run both nodes?

Yea I should have mentioned in the instructions that on first boot with the node USB plugged in it does a bunch of system level changes to initialize the node. You pressing start when it has already started probably cause the issues you were seeing.

Best way to start it up the first time is to shut down the Apollo, plug in the USB drive, power it up and leave it alone for an hour. When you go to the dashboard everything should be up and running.

As for port forwarding multiple nodes you can usually only port forward to one device in your network, so im not sure about a solution where you can have both nodes open to the outside world, I think you just have to chose one of them as a read only node. It does not matter either way, your doing your part as long as one node is open.

BTW what USB drive are you using?

If we have to shut down / reboot our miner do we need to stop the node first then shutdown or just shutdown will do?

Does running a full node affect the units hash rate?
Also, I have 2 Apollo's. If I decide to go the full node route, should I put a full node on both units?

I updated one of my machines to full node and didn't notice any change in hashrate.

Since some of us have updated our apollo to ltc nodes the node counts hasn't gone up much.  Not sure if site is bugged or our nodes are not synced to the network yet?

Anyone notice this?  Both of my miners have the node update.

but there is also the possibility to connect to any pool and undermine any crypto with the same "algo scrypt"

Yes you can and as jstefanop has written its possible to any pool and you can also point your miner to nicehash if you want .
The only problem on Nicehash there is only to get a lot of shares , but you get some and any scrypt pool that you find you can mine there .
I have the apollo miner now since it was coming out and never got any problems with it .

How much u earn daily if u point your apollo to nice hash?

I burned a new SD and still can't get anything to work.  Can boot into dashboard and still can't mine anything.

Can i connect to the apollo miner using BFGminer or something to see whats going on?

Sounds like either your pool setup is incorrect, or your router is not providing a WAN connection to your device. What is the font LED doing after it starts up?

Thats weird if not having wan connections cuz i never set anything up first time around.   here are some screen shots

Also the light blinks yellow

I have restarted my miner and now i'm getting really high HW errors.  Doesn't seem normal as before I was getting the opposite from accept  vs HW error.  about 5-6% HW error.

Everything is in auto mode and have rebooted.  Same thing.   How can i fix this?

16 min run time is not long enough to get a good sense of what's is going on...sometimes these spit out a lot of errors when they are started it so initial error might be higher. Id check it after an hour to get a good average.

Well i ended up reformatting card and installing OS again.  Now I can't get it to mine, i can get into dashboard but wont start.  Keeps saying, "miner is offline press start it"  I have tried rebooting, unplugging and still won't start mining.

Will try that tonight when i get  home.

Thanks for the tip.

I received the PSU the other day and went to check on it after a few days of being used.  The PSU is warm which is normal but the cable from PSU to the miner is warm too.    i would say just 1/4 of length from PSU to miner is warm.  I'm not sure if the cable is supposed to  be warm?

When i had my other PSU plugged in the cable wasn't warm.  So just want to double check on this.

Is there a way to reset dashboard password on the box or I need to re=flash the image again on SD card?  For some reason my password is not correct even thou i was able to access it before.

I got mine on Monday or Tuesday and no cracks or dings on the miner. Packaging was good.   (will post some pix when i get home)   Its up and running in ECO mode but fan is on Auto which avg like 900 - 1050 RPM.  My son says the fan is loud.  (FYI i'm deaf) Makes me wonder if the fan is "sucking" air off the heat sinks and up thru the top.  ( can feel it)
This normal?

I skimmed thru the forum and didn't see the answer i was looking for.  Sorry if this is a repeat.

I just got my Apollo today and will use my spare 550 PSU for now till i get futureBit PSU.  Anyway my question is that do i use 2 separate PCIE cables from PSU to Apollo or will i be fine w/ using 1 PCIE cable on both power terminals on Apollo?

One thing i noticed I'm seeing HW errors.  Is this normal?

[147 accepted   1 rejected    108 HW error]
