1  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to manually decrypt Electrums encrypted seed and xprv from wallet file on: November 16, 2017, 12:49:40 PM
I have tried this but receive an error message: KeyError: 'seed'

If anyone can help me decrypt my Electrum 2.7.9 wallet I will be willing to pay a reward.
I do have the original wallet file but unfortunately (and stupidly) do not have seed or password!

2  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Wallet Seed Recovery on: November 16, 2017, 12:15:24 PM
This post has seriously grabbed my attention. I very foolishly have managed to lose my password and seed (I know, I know) for my Electrum wallet.

After reading this:
"I see you've figured out how to decrypt the new seed from scene 2 using the console"

And seeing this:
>> import aes
>> from electrum import wallet
>>wallet.pw_decode('bBbGXH3ivbmwapRODeAn7wp7VviwDkpNOcaRdW9EDiA5xeYXj8CtrUidHvRbCubIJhMaPjlEOfO0kQM 13RB6Zw==','125')
u'431a62f1c86555d3c45e5c4d9e10c8c7'

Am I right in thinking it is somehow possible to decrypt the password? I do have the original wallet file in full.
I did try the above example but received an error message:
"InvalidPassword: Incorrect password"

Any help here would be massively appreciated - certainly willing to reward if I find a way to decrypt the seed.

Thank you so much for your help, certainly not negative at all - didn't think it would be easy by any means. Novel idea I thought though!
Perhaps I'll just try the old fashioned way for now  Smiley

Thanks for the reply!

Would definitely be held for x amount of time and if funds not enough would be refunded.
I'm assuming that you say escrow for the added security? Don't have any personal experience with escrow but will certainly be willing to look into it.

I was just thinking that the transactions could contain email address or the like (obviously would need some contact info), then a case of assigning a number to each transaction and using a Random Number Generator?

Is just an idea at the moment - certainly be more exciting than the usual hoi polloi that goes with selling cars!!

I have an idea and am looking for advice and opinions.
I've decided to sell my car, it's nothing extra special - Audi A3 2.0TD (probably worth around £3500 - £4000).
Have fallen on hard times  Embarrassed

Anyway, I had the idea of "raffling" it, a bit like a lottery.
Was thinking I could maybe sell each ticket for around 0.25 BTC and randomly select a winner!

The reasoning behind this is that hopefully I may get a little more than as with cash and potentially the winner could have used nothing more than an almost free payment (miners).

Just after your thoughts and opinions.

I am fairly new to Crypto Currency, but am aware that every transaction is view-able, so hopefully wouldn't be any trust issues?

Let me know your thoughts, cheers.
