1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: July 28, 2017, 04:41:08 AM
So I just stumbled across this thread.  I currently have the following cards:

Rig 1 (dedicated miner) - 3 x EVGA 1080Ti OC Gamer
Rig 2 (workstation/gaming) - 1 x Zotac 1080Ti Arcticstorm
Rig 3 (HTPC) - 1 x 1070 Founders Edition

I'm just running NiceHash on all 3 24/7.  The 1080Ti's are doing about $3 each daily and the 1070 about $1.75.  All of them are running at 60% power limit and the efficiency on all of them is around 4 H/W.

Reading what some of you guys are making per day per 1080Ti, it sounds like I might be missing out a lot more than the 5% or so I figured I was giving up by just letting NiceHash pick what I mine.

I plan to pick up 3 more of the EVGA's for the dedicated rig.
What is your clocks of EVGA please...

Today I received one more new sapphire (11265-01-20G) Hynix I used the '777000000000000022AA1C00B56A6D46C0551017BE8E060C006AE6000C081420EA8900AB0300000 01B162C31C0313F17' straps and was able to hit 29.2(1100/2150), then I raised to (1200/2150) and it could hit 30.6 but the gpu-z power draw is 115-116W, I flashed again with 950mV@2000 but there is no change. please advise me how to reduce that I am newbie for voltage issues.

Try Trixx for voltage on sapphire cards.
Thank you very much I will try that

Will it be feasible to fit 6 rx 580s 8gb on a 1000w gold psu with dual mining(dcr) ? I think the new rebrand uses more power than 400 series, or with tweaks is it comparable ?

It uses more power stock because of higher clocks, if u mod/undervolt, the power is almost the same as 400 series.

For dual mining i wouldn't even use a 1200w psu, let alone a 1000w one.
Dual mining with 580's will get you close to 1000w, way over the safe, 80% PSU usage.

It probably didn't accept the values, as u can see ur are running them at 1.05xV.
Try to set the voltage in Claymore or use Wattool if u cant set it through flash+AB.
Also i recommend u watch your memory errors closely in HW Monitor for errors. Those errors can sometimes make a rig unstable, the miner or the ati driver can crash because of the errors.
The memory errors showing zero and the rig is stable but I wish to reduce the power consumption. Is that possible to use AB to undervoltage? and if not possible how to make wattool load the undervoltage on start up pls as AB do with clocks?

Hey Penny, one of my rigs is running the 570 Nitro+'s as well, here's what I learned.

1200 core is the sweet spot on these, looks like you've found it!

Use GPU-Z to check ASIC quality of each card, it is very tightly correlated to how well they'll undervolt. The cards that I have that are ~79% ASIC quality run 836mV at 1200, ~75% runs ~880mV, etc, but I also got a crappy 67% one that wont undervolt at 1200 at all lol, its running 1150 at 930mV
1180 is the best spot here.
Msi 580 8G @ 30.1, Msi 570 4G @ 28.7, and Sapphire 580 8G @ 29.3~29.4
how can I reduce the voltage to 900 in bios while flash!!! (newbie)

If you have Sapphire Pulse RX580 8Gb Hynix with it`s own 1750 straps at 1100 Mhz Core and 2150 Memory it will hash with dual mining Ethereum 27.3Mh/s and 500Mh/s Sia at -dcri 17 if you use this strap 777000000000000022CC1C00106A6D4DD0571016B90D060C006AE70014051420FA8900A00300000 01B11333DC0303A17  it will hash at 29.5 Mh/s Ethereum + 500 Mh/s Sia .

hello
and if use some modify strap
777000000000000022AA1C00B56A6D46C0551017BE8E060C006AE6000C081420EA8900AB0300000 01B162C31C0313F17
it will hash at  at 30.1 Mh/s Ethereum + 745 Mh/s Decret
Does this run reliable for a couple of days, not only for the moment of testing?

Works at RX470 8Gb nitro+  correctly for 2 weeks.  On Sapphire RX580 Pulse 8Gb works 24 hours, only yesterday bought

This strap and my own 1750 doesn't work for me neither, work around 28.8 and 900 dcr but in minutes, never more than an hour some cards go to 0 MH,  have someone found a good solution for 580 Nitro LE Hynix memory?
Thanks for share..

what straps are you guys using for the XFX Core edition 580s  8GB samsung.  I used 1625 but the hashrate fluctuates alot from 14-27.9 , It starts at 30mhs then drops back to 27.9 and then down up down up
Hello Its my first real Oc. I have some rx580 nitro LE Hynix.
I ve tryed to use the Roman063 strap :
777000000000000022AA1C00B56A6D46C0551017BE8E060C006AE6000C081420EA8900AB0300000 01B162C31C0313F17
So I just replace the 2000 strap  by this one.
At the begining iI get around 28Mhs then it fall 22mhs.
And I get a message that it make invalid share.

So I tryed to start oc but when I oc the mem@2060 it go down to 15mhs.
Tryng to modify core 1100  and undervolt -96mv but it go to 9mhs.
So what is wrong I dont understand ?
Replace your 2:1750,2000, and 2250 with "777000000000000022CC1C00106A6D4DD0571016B90D060C006AE70014051420FA8900A00300000 01B11333DC0303A17"
I got 29.3 the other one I got 29.1
***My cards is not LE but hynix 580 8G (11265-01-20G)

Hi all,

New to the forum and new to crypto mining but I decided to jump right. Looking for a little advice. I know you guys need info to work off of so i'll post what I bought and what i'm doing and looking to do.

I have x6 Sapphire Nitro+ rx580 8gb
MSI z170a gaming pro carbon

I'm building a customer frame so while i'm working on that, i hooked up the motherboard, 550w psu which will ultimately go along with a 1200w server psu and a single 580 to get things loaded and started.
I loaded driver 17.3.4

The first issue i'm having is that the whole system is just randomly shutting down. I originally tried to make some minor changes in Polaris bios editor and copied the 1750 straps into the 2000 straps.
This first card that I'm 'trying with has hynix memory. Does anyone have any advice to setting up a hynix 580 for best hashrates/power usage?

As far as the power shutdowns, i'm not sure whats causing that. I don't have any overclocking and this base setup shouldn't be too much for the 550w psu, so i'm thinking maybe a hardware issue? once I get that sorted out, I will go through each card one by one and set them up for the rig before trying all 6. I know there have been some updates on getting 580's to run with 6 cards, is the go to solution still to copy the older driver folder into the new one?

Any advice you guys can give would be greatly appreciated.
Shut down means over power. I think your main power supply shuts down due to over power consumption.

What are you guys using to mod the BIOS of the 570/580?
I have a few MSI 570's waiting for risers. I heard PolarisBiosEditor 1.4.1 doesn't work.
For my MSI gaming x 4G PolarisBiosEditor 1.4.0 worked good. You have to test all straps one by one to find the best 1:1500,1:1625,1:1750,1:2000,2:1500,2:1625,2:1750,and 2:2000

Sapphire 570 4GB Mini Elpida - strap 1750 - 1110/2040/-96mvgpu/30+target = 26,3-26,4 @ 164w on the wall = 169 USD newegg very nice

Your doing something wrong, I have this card at 29.5 MH @ 130 watts. Definitely the best bang for buck for the current 500 series line.
That is the one fan 570? and if yes what about temp and fan set pls?

Wandering if anybody has had success with the MSI 570 Armor 4gb OC.  I have backed up the rom and opened it in both polaris 1.4 and 1.4.1.  It has hynix memory in it.  In 1.4 the assumption was that I would see timings labeled like 1:1750 or 1:2000 but I do not, I just have this

When I open the rom in pbe 1.4.1 I have a blank box in the timings area for memory.  I have the newest relive drivers and I have the sig patch in windows 10 64.

I am also wandering if anyone has a rom for the same card of 470.  I hear that you can flash a 570 with a 470 rom of the same make/memory.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

______________EDIT_____________

So I used this version https://github.com/jaschaknack/PolarisBiosEditor and I am able to see the 1:1750 and so on.  Now question is do I do the 1:XXXX or the 2:XXXX I have heard 1 is for certain memory and 2 is for other.
I got MSI 4G (not armor)
Tested 1200/2100 on 1:1750, 1:1625, 1:1500, 2:1750, 2:1625, and 2:1500 and found the last on got the highest 30-30.5 but hangs in seconds. So I reduced clocks to 1200/2000 and got 28.7 (2:1500) no mv yet

With bios mod you can have 30mh
Thank you so much. Ireduced to 1266/2200 same production. noticed on 1266/2250 showing 28 Mh/s but 2250 is the max on the msi afterburner which I dont like as it is the maximum, so returned to 1266/2200. I dont like any mod it might destroy card.

If your gpu blocks the memory but not the coreclock, on these cards you can leave the coreclok at 1200.

But your gpu 4 lowers the memory to 2150.
Thank you it was a new valuable info for me after 10 months of mining. I reduced GPU4 to 2150 and the situation is too much better but I am not sure what is the accepted errors limit. here is the current situation:

GPU0 - errors: 1 - Asic:79.5 @1266/2200 -24mv
GPU1 - errors: 774 - Asic:85.6 @1180/2150 -24mv
GPU2 - errors: 1315 - Asic:73.6 @1266/2200 -24mv
GPU3 - errors: 4 - Asic:75.8 @1266/2200 -24mv
GPU4 - errors: 34 - Asic:75 @1180/2150 -24mv
GPU5 - errors: 295 - Asic:71.1 @1266/2200 -24mv

Are you checking for memory erros with this setting?

how can I? do you mean invalid shares. it is zero.

Download

https://www.hwinfo.com/download.php

There is an indicator for memory errors, they dont reflect in the number of shares but reduce the life of the card.

GPU0 - errors: 9 - Asic:79.5
GPU1 - errors: 1,794,151 - Asic:85.6
GPU2 - errors: 5123 - Asic:73.6
GPU3 - errors: 752 - Asic:75.8
GPU4 - errors: 88,873,330 - Asic:75
GPU5 - errors: 7811 - Asic:71.1

No, now 430 hash for 1070...

See edits. Still isn't worth it...

Further Edit:

Efficiency Setup - at equal power use for comparison without power costs impacting the analysis.
                    Edit:       Edit:
Card   Price   Hash/s   Power (W)   H/$
1070  $400    380        100            0.95
Fury   $260    300        100            1.15

Full Bore Setup
Card   Price   Hash/s   H/$
1070  $400    430      1.075
Fury   $260    350      1.346

The 1070 has a long way to go before it's worth a look.  The entry cost of $400/card is just too steep to overcome without some serious hash.

it's wrong, the 1070 do 380 at 100watt not 330

If you did a little math yourself you'd see at 380 it's still not wrong.  AMD is still ahead of Nvidia in H/$ running efficiently AND running full bore.  Even with the adjusted numbers the 1070 is still 20% less H/$.  AMD dead?? It's still in the LEAD.

Edit: AMD guys are quibbling over 0.5% using ssl and 2%-4% in pool variance.
Nvidia guys are paying a 20% premium just to play the game and screaming victory.  It would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic.

it is because 380 sol is always better than 300 sol at the same wattage, you need 25% more uselesses components with 300 sol to have the same total hash

you must remember than on large scale the less rig you haev that do the job the better

You are right, Amph. Also, real prices are not listed. AMD Fury is much more than a listed prices. Here is the actual price at the same shop in the EU:

On ebay there is some fury at 260 USD:

, also on newegg:

btw I never bought or tried fury as I know its consume 300W so I prefer to buy 290 or 290x @ 200USD (used). So i wonder if fury consumes 100W
