1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Do you think Ethereum will over take bitcoin? on: February 05, 2018, 05:33:21 AM
I think that it will, it seems like it gets close here and there but more frequent. What do you think the result of a flip would be even if it lasted an hour? How would that affect the prices of BTC/ETH? What would be some outcomes of a flip?

5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / How do I recover my old wallet file? on: January 03, 2018, 07:13:09 PM
Hi,

Today I found an old wallet back up. But it was in word format and not in the .dat, .aes.json, or .json format. How do I recover the wallet? This is what the beginning looks like : {"pbkdf2_iterations":5000,"version":2,"payload":"

Another question: I found another wallet with a 20-word phrase, it has the words Fenn and Gethsemane in it.
I know that these two wallets are not related.

Any help is appreciated!
Thanks
6  Economy / Currency exchange / BTC exchange question on: June 15, 2016, 04:02:30 AM
What exchange would you guys recommend? Also, what information do I need from my bank to be able to buy Bitcoin?

Bonus question: I have a 25$ visa gift card, how do I transfer this to BTC?

Thanks!

Idea: Put some bits in a paper wallet for offline transactions to give to the other person. They can sweep them or whatever.

But Bitcoin is great for online transactions. Yeah, 10+ minutes until you get a couple of confirmations but it works well in my opinion.
