I am mining with a R9 Fury X on minergate since well 1 1/2 days. The program says I am mining with around 18MH/s while using Ethminer would give me around 21MH/s in my rig. That's not my problem, I can live with that. What I do have a problem with is that my balance ETH still is 0 ? Thanks

given that the pool uses PPLNS , you will not get paid till blocks are found. see ; https://minergate.com/faq/difference-between-pps-and-pplns

Yes I had checked that and several blocks were mined during that time frame. I stopped mining using Minergate after 3 days. Never received any ETH so for me its a scam. Back using Ethminer now and all is fine. My experience with Minergate: looks good but doesn't work
