This could end very badly for Bitstamp. If the buying slows down enough from most of the traders on Bitstamp exhausting their supply of dollars, Mr. 30k might keep reducing his ask price until he has sold through most of the order book. That would leave everyone else on Bitstamp with lots of bitcoin and only enough dollars to support a far lower price (probably under $100). At that point, people would rush to move their bitcoins to a different exchange to sell them. The only things that would prevent this from happening are a lot of dollars that aren't currently being used for any orders or the 20k wall being bought very quickly or pulled.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency - many coin - wow - v1.1 Released on: December 12, 2013, 11:26:54 AM

I have downloaded cgminer 3.7.2 (also tried 3.5, still the same problem)
I have extracted it to the desktop in a folder
I have created an account on http://pool.testserverino.de/, I have created a worker and gave him a password, also I have added my Doge wallet
Then I'm creating startmining.bat file with the following text
cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://pool.testserverino.de:3333 -u mywebsitelogin.myworkerlogin -p workerpassword
I save it to the cgminer folder, and now when I'm launching this startmining.dat file, nothing happens, it simply says "cgminer started" and that is it.

What hardware are you trying to use for mining? Also, it can take a minute for cgminer to actually do anything.

I have created such file and when I launch it, a black window appears and dissapears instantly, it says something like
cgminer script unrecognized option

You need to use cgminer 3.7.2 or lower.

This is ridiculous! It isn't working. I give up

Go to Help > Debug window. What are the values for "Number of connections" and "Current number of blocks"?
6  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: RTBTC - Bitcoin Exchange Trading Interface on: November 29, 2013, 07:53:56 PM
I just started using RTBTC and I've noticed a problem when trading with Bitstamp. Orders disappear from the order book as soon as they've been at least partially filled. Orders that have not been completely filled should obviously remain in the order book, but they don't. This doesn't appear to be an issue with Bitstamp because the live order book on their site continues to show the orders, and they only disappear once they've been completely filled or cancelled. I'm using v0.2.9.

I've also noticed that the account balances often don't update for a while or at all, but that could be a Bitstamp issue. I'm aware that their API isn't the best.
