1  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Dwolla IPN Failure on bitinstant? on: May 10, 2013, 04:45:42 AM
Just an update, dwolla are apparently working to resolve this issue permanently within the next month but for now please try sending a single cent via the following link:
https://www.dwolla.com/hub/812-544-3435?amount=0.01&memo=Please%20try%20to%20send%20us%20a%20penny.%20This%20should%20get%20you%20into%20the%20KBA%20verification%20mode

After doing that, our regular site should work fine - you should only need to do this once.

just tried this, working now. thanks Smiley

There's nothing in my account though, the balance is still reading '$0.00'

Was hoping someone could clear this up for me, thanks.

It appears your order was completed.  Thanks.

This is what I'm getting on my account to which I sent the money:

Maybe I just have to wait for it to confirm? but blockchain says there's already 14 confirmations...

I still haven't received any money, despite the blockchain saying I have. I'm thinking of escalating this to bitcoin support, this is ridiculous.

7  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Lost $600 on SatoshiDice, crying at my own stupidity on: April 09, 2013, 11:26:17 PM
I did it.

I started with $600, went up to $2000, then lost it all, in the blink of an eye.

Rent is due in a few weeks, and I recently got fired from my job. I'm completely fucked and have no way of helping myself.

I realize I'm a complete idiot, and posting about this on the bitcoin forums while searching for people who have hit the jackpot (millionaires) has depressed me considerably.

 Embarrassed

Just a warning.  Gambling with the rent money is the kind of thing that can be indicative of just foolishness, but it can also be a sign of a serious gambling problem.  If you've never done this before, consider staying away from gambling.

Stupidity has nothing to do with it really.  Gambling makes some people behave irrationally and do self-destructive things.  Even smart people.

Be careful out there.

The scariest part was, I more than doubled my money. If I would've just cashed out the $600 initial investment I would've been fine.

Absolutely not. You would have paid your rent, have some money left and told yourself in 1 month "oh, I could play SatoshiDice again and make money". The money you lost today, you would have lost it in 1-2-6 months from now.

You don't win at gambling, you only postpone your loss.

Well damn my mentality then, I need to realize that Satoshi is a long-term loss. Too bad I learned that the hard way.

As I can see in your signature, you have invested money in BFL also?

My best friend has and he's regretting it now :/

Here's my wallet file, can't stop hitting myself about this.

I don't expect anybody to give me anything, just because I don't deserve it, but regardless, I'm putting my address here.

To all those who have succeeded (most people), and to all those who are dumbfucks like myself and lost their money, I salute you all.

I did a transaction on the 7th (2 days ago), but I used the WRONG mtgox address, I used my friends instead. I feel like a dumbass because I've more than likely lost the $500 i put in there. It says manual transfer created but I never got any money! I've emailed support and asked them to reroute the address if the money is stuck (which i'm hoping on my life it is) so they can send it to the correct address. The account number is below (93662)

I'd be willing to buy probably 2 pounds worth. Could you give me an approximated total cost, with everything included? I'm located in Orlando, FL.

Whenever I'm sending btc to Satoshi, it always takes forever to confirm. I'm sending about 1-1.5 btc at a time, is that the reason why? I'm paying the fee obviously, but I was wondering if I send them from an online wallet, will it be quicker?
16  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: best alternative to mtgox for usd right now? on: April 07, 2013, 12:47:12 PM
I like bitcoin24 because trading if free. Smiley would be great to see more USD.
We have heaps of EURO traders but would be good to see more US.

I'm gonna put ~2 BTC in there and trade a bit. I'm looking for something a little more stable than Gox Smiley
