1  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / making bitcoin more tangible on: March 10, 2014, 08:42:00 PM
hey guys, just had an idea...

sending and receiving bitcoin is still pretty abstract for many people,
you're dealing with numbers and especially the original Bitcoin-Qt
"looks" rather unspectacular.

what if there was a cool way to visualize sending and receiving BTC?
I imagine a coin that is transparent and made of 1's and 0's slowly
spinning around itself. Once it is sent an animation pops up showing
how the coin moves from the sending address to the receiving address
in some fancy way.

Would make it look more like sending actual coins rather than numbers
and people would feel that it's almost tangible - that it has substance.

Maybe this could be some plugin that one could install...
i'm neither a programmer nor a graphics designer, so no idea how
to do this.

just wanted to get the idea out Smiley

Glad to hear someone is trying to do sth different. Too many copy alt-coins out there.
Here is what I believe would be two significant improvements over bitcoin:

1. instantaneous transaction confirmations
2. complete anonymity

while I'm not sure how to achieve the first one, the second one can be achieved
through adopting zero-coin. check http://zerocoin.org/ for further info.
