1  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Scammers on Ebay on: November 25, 2013, 11:34:13 AM
I sold a PC on eBay about a yr ago. Did it the right one new parts, bench tested, posted via courier packaged super food.
I get postive feedback and he is thrilled with the item. 2days later apparently it stopped working. He wanted a refund. PayPal froze my account, took back the $1500 he paid for me and basically said I have to prove I'm in the right.

So I got the PC back mind you in pieces! I took photos and tested it all. Sent them to PayPal along with a teat report. Nope I was s having to give him a refund. I took the components back to my supplier. The GPUs where fried, Mobo was dead and the PSU was not the one I sent.

In the end with all my evidence and as well as warranty and replacement documents from my supplier I still had to give the refund and pay PayPal back the $1500.. so Yeh I'm done with them Fkn useless.

I have soldered straight into the power lines in the hub which goto my psu. No issues yet but its only been a week. Once I have 5 going ill see I'd there are issues and if so I will upgrade to a brand name haha.

Regarding the gpus it sat in a 15degree c server room with my other rig and web server so cooling wasn't an issue. If I was purely ambient air then they would have been roasting haha.

This was my first rig 3x 5850 flashed to 5870 bios. hashing about 400mhash each.

I then decided to swap to LTC and FTC and build a proper miner. 4x 7950's running at 70degrees pulling 650-680khash each.

I ended up getting ROI and ALOT more by jumping onto FTC straight away then dumping soon as it hit btc-e at a VERY inflated price. Sold the rig for what i paid for the parts. down sized my Gaming PC back to one GPU and got me some Block Erupters (ordered 50 and paid $5AUD each) even though alot of people say they never get back ROI im sure i will get my $5 each back Smiley.

I also converted a 500watt ATX PSU into a power supply to feed my USB Hubs which i am still waiting on. All up it will give me 40amps on the 5v and 14amps on the 12v. Plenty of breathing space. This way i can run and connect them in any order or place and not have to worry about plug packs getting hot!

Its running 10x USB miners fine. once i get my other 4 hubs i will be organizing and setting them up properly and will upload more pics.

Hi all,

Im still new to the forums but i have been mining and active on BTC-e for quite some time.
I know most people opt to build their own miners and probably cheaper but im just throwing it out there to anyone interested as i have access to equipment at work and testing facilities too.

i am building rigs starting from 800k/hash to 2.5g/hash+ a rig that a few people from work have bought is this one:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/321113026624?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

if anyone has any questions or would like assistance or prices hit me up anytime i am always happy to help and get people involved.

Cheers.

Each card is pulling between 160-170watts

Hi guys,

i hope this is in the right place if not feel free to move thread.

ok so. System:
CPU: duel core E7500
MOBO: Gigabyte DS4L
GFX: Sapphire HD 5850
RAM: 4gig kingston hyper x
OS: Windows XP 32. SP3.

My problem is that i try to install the catalysts drivers which works fine. then when i go to install SDK it keeps saying "the display driver installed on this system does not have OpenCL support for AMD GPUs" etc etc.. if i click yes it runs openCL on my CPU and not on my GPU. i have tried every combination of drivers and SDK versions. from the ones everyone recommend for this card 11.11, 11.5, 11.12 etc. all while every time i check version in MSI afterburner it keeps saying catalysts version 12.8 :S

each time i do a new install i completely unistall everything, use driver sweeper to clear it all out and manually go in and check to see if anything was left over. then i restart and try again.

im about ready to kick the shit outa my PC.

Thanks in advanced Smiley
