1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XSPEC x200 this year on: April 10, 2018, 06:13:24 AM
As of this moment, XSPEC is worth about 4,300 satoshis, or about 28 cents. For a coin that still has good tech and principles, that's dirt cheap.

From 28 cents, a 200x increase would put the coin at $56. So as crazy as a 200x increase sounded when this thread was made...maybe its actually possible by the end of the year.

I think a few things need to happen first:

1) Mandica and the leadership team needs to get their shit together and hire a dev that won't flake. It appears they are doing just that.
2) The community needs to move on from previous failures, and learn from the mistakes of the past by not allowing it to happen again.
3) It wouldn't hurt if Bitcoin hits $25k.

The big problem here tho is that so many people good people have been burned by what has happened. They put their money in when the story sounded good and the leadership seemed legit. These people truly believed in what the project represented and could actually achieve. Many held out hope even in the face of the mountain of evidence that pointed to scam-worthy news, but in the end, they all got wrecked by the actions of a few key, selfish, dishonest actors.

A good project with good tech and a promising future was kneecapped by selfishness and incompetence. That's the truly tragic thing here.

So much trust has been violated here. It will be very difficult to regain the trust that was lost. In time, and with a lot of work and no mistakes, perhaps it is possible.

I remain highly skeptical about the future of this project, but:
I am hopeful that Mandica can turn things around.
I am hopeful a new, trustworthy developer can take the reins and showcase the potential of this project.
I am hopeful trust can be regained.

If those things can happen, this project might emerge as a success. But at this moment, that's a big if.

Couple that with default stealth addresses and stealth staking to come in Q2 of this year, and you've got a speculative winner.

Ya, got any proof for that, like a white paper?

No. I only have the word of the dev team. That's why I said SPECULATIVE winner.

If I'm wrong, then its all for not, and I look like a fool. That's the nature of the beast.

Much easier to look the fool with a noob account--some of us have a body of work to protect and can't shill every shitcoin that comes down the pipe with claims of, "We have magical powers and #1 privacy!"

Spectrecoin has one of the worst prospects of success--no known cryptographer is actively proposing an anonymous staking system, so the idea that an unknown dev is pulling it out of his ass is pretty unconvincing.

If you look at ring-signatures, mimble wimble, zsnarks, zstarks, SPECTRE (not Xspec)--these were all well known and reviewed (at least in cryptography circles) before any team decided to attempt them. There's a great deal of research that goes ahead of implementation, so absent that, it looks like fool's gold.

I don't care what people do with their money, just don't push unknown cryptography on the rest of us and act like it's a foregone conclusion, or even a legitimate bet.
Don't talk down to me like I'm some schoolyard kid. I'll do anything I care to do. And you can take your 'body of work' and shove it.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Privacy Coins - Which is the best Monero, Pivx , Verge, DeepOnion or Zcash? on: January 25, 2018, 12:55:50 PM
You ask which privacy coins will be best, but then you only list one privacy coin, which is Monero.

Why not just ask if Bitcoin is a good privacy coin? Or Ethereum?

Oh oh, I've got it! Is Ripple a good privacy coin??

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What will happen when the DeepOnion Airdrop ends? on: January 25, 2018, 12:40:50 PM
Pretty simple answer really:

1) Airdrop ends, no more incentive to post about D.O.

2) Less posts about D.O., less attention it receives

3) Less attention, less buying pressure

4) Less buying pressure -> lower price, assuming selling pressure remains the same

Therefore - Airdrop ends -> Lower price

Yep ! You are totally right in my opinion. I don't want to sound like a hater but I think the price of this coin went up a lot the past few months is because a lot of people are promoting it on Bitcointalk with their signature and not because this coin is amazing or whatever.

I think it's just a shitcoin with a lot of shillers
Oh absolutely! The coin is mostly marketing AFAIK. And that's great if you want a coin with a high price. But if you want a coin that has the potential to last, you need to have the tech to back it up. Again, AFAIK, D.O. does not have this.

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Spectrecoin (XSPEC) price prediction on: January 25, 2018, 09:06:34 AM
$500? That's awfully optimistic. Let's be realistic, shall we?

By summer, after Q2, assuming stealth staking does NOT happen, Spectre will be at about $3-$5, and that's about it. Maybe it claws its way up to $10.

By summer, after Q2, assuming stealth staking DOES happen, Spectre could easily rocket to $50, possibly even touch $100.

Yes, stealth staking is THAT big of a deal.

Not many believe that they can do it. And that's a fair assumption. Its never been done before, and there is no 'proof' yet.

But, I am a betting man, and I am betting that the Spectre folks do get stealth staking to work. Heck, I am openly rooting for it, because it is such a game changer!

But if it doesn't, that will be a big blow to Spectre in general, and I don't think it can handle that kind of a setback in the long run.

$500 by summer? I just don't see it. But $100 by summer? That I can see.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Who's next to go to the Moon? on: January 25, 2018, 08:57:15 AM
If Spectrecoin (Xspec) doesn't 30x up to $90+ by this time next year I will eat my keyboard.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which coins are really privacy and anonymous? on: January 25, 2018, 08:54:29 AM
For anyone saying Spectrecoin (Xspec) is a scam, I say go right on ahead and keep spreading that FUD. The weak hands will believe you and dump their coins, and I'll be waiting to pick up those cheap coins. So keep saying Xspec is a scam, because you're going to make me even richer when its 50% of XMR's market cap!

Xspec is very inexpensive compared to Monero, and both are neck and neck in terms of privacy and anonymity capability.

I don't hate on XMR. I never would. It is simply great.
Same reason I don't hate on Xspec. Tech is right there. But at a massive discount to XMR.

But hey, keep FUD'n, and I'll keep stackin'
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which privacy centric coins will make it? on: January 25, 2018, 08:40:23 AM
Anonymity is indeed a very expensive thing. Monero has proven that. Dash has proven that. Even Verge has proven that, even though its about as anonymous as Oprah Winfrey. This is why the time is now to get on board with Spectrecoin (Xspec).

It is very inexpensive compared to other coins already mentioned, and it has already proven tech. Couple that with default stealth addresses and stealth staking to come in Q2 of this year, and you've got a speculative winner.

Or don't buy it and miss out. Your choice.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SHARE YOUR OWN Altcoin portfolio on: January 12, 2018, 11:50:35 AM
I like a few of the coins you are holding, as I have them myself!

I own DBC, LTC, and RPX. I see you don't hold NEO tho. Seems strange you'd hold DBC and RPX but not NEO. Why is this?

I am unfamiliar with ENJ, DRT, and DNT, so I won't say anything regarding those as I am ignorant.

I plan to hold DBC and RPX for over a year. I use LTC as a store of value, like BTC, so I don't hold much except for when I move out of a position that pairs with LTC.

I also hodl:
ETH
ADA
XSPEC
ODN (Obsidian, new find for me)
FUN
Golem
and NEO
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Any undervalued coins? on: January 10, 2018, 06:59:05 AM
Undervalued coins? Watch the following coins:

LUX
ODN
XSPEC

All 3 of them are currently only on small-ish exchanges, with Cryptopia being the common player. If any one of these 3 reaches a major exchange like Binance, Bittrex, Poloniex, etc, watch out. If/When that happens, its an easy 10x gain for the one to make it. All they need is the proper exposure to get recognized, and then its off to the races.

Get in now while you still can! If you still can, that is. What with new registration being closed temporarily and what not.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What coins are about to explode? on: January 10, 2018, 06:50:56 AM
I cannot disagree more that Ripple (XRP) is about to explode. It already exploded!

If anything, it is about ready to implode. Take your gains and sell while the getting is still good. The Ripple scam has been exposed for the fraud it is.

But hey, its your money. Set it on fire if you want, I don't care. Just don't say you weren't warned.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Most promising low market cap coin? on: January 10, 2018, 06:48:22 AM
Thank you OP for the tip on Lux. I will look into that and possibly add some to my portfolio after research.

I've seen a lot of posts about Spectre (XSpec) and I agree with the sentiments, so I won't add my 2 cents there as what's been said as already been said.

Check out Obsidian (ODN) as another option for a lowcap coin. Research it, then get on it. It is at $2 right now, and I see it at $5 by the end of January.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best coin for January on: January 10, 2018, 06:42:06 AM
Best coin for January? Well, let's see based on the following recommendations:

NEO has had a great January so far. Can it get much better? I think yes, yes it can. I would be very surprised to see it close January under 0.1 BTC. It should close well high of that, possibly as high as $200 even.

ZClassic (ZCL) moved up quite a bit a few days ago, and is taking a very healthy breather right now from that latest bull run. I expect ZCL to move very close to the psychological support line of 0.01 BTC, before taking off again to 0.015 BTC. Overall I am very bullish on ZCL, but in the long term rather than for just January.

Verge (XVG) has had tremendous volume, but it is far shy of its highs from just 2 weeks ago. So what happened? Likely this is a 50% retracement / consolidation event. In most cases, I see this as a very bullish indicator. However, in Verge's case, I do not. I believe Verge was over-pumped by hype, and it has farther to travel downwards to find a true support line.

Spectre (XSpec) had a great end of 2017 and started off well in 2018, but ran into a bit of a slump like Verge. Again, this is likely a 50% retracement / consolidation however, but unlike Verge, Spectre should be primed for another large up-leg to $20.

But wait, basically the same tune for both Verge and Spectre, but why do I pick Spectre over Verge? Simple answer: marketcap. Verge's marketcap is awfully bloated right now, and is mostly thanks to John McAfee pumping Verge from his own channel. Spectre is still very much unknown, and therefore has a very large upside potential still. If/When Spectre reaches Verge's marketcap, then we can talk about other fundamentals like their tech, team and user base. Until then, Spectre is my choice for big gains in the privacy coin market.

And for good measure, my own pick:

Obsidian (ODN) is a darkhorse I just recently found out about, and its been on a heater since 2 days ago. I think January could see it with a few more multiples, possibly up to $5. Want to make a quick 2x in 3 weeks? ODN is a solid pick for sure.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: OVERvalued altcoins. on: January 09, 2018, 02:42:29 AM
The Mother of all Shitcoins, Ripple, is overvalued by a factor of 100. Such a shame so many were duped into thinking it was a good coin.

Other overvalued shitcoins include BitcoinCash, BitcoinGold, Dash, Verge and the ponzi Bitconnnect.

Other overvalued coins (that are still good) are Cardano, Stellar Lumens, IOTA and RaiBlocks.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which coins are going to crash in February on: January 08, 2018, 09:54:14 AM
Ripple will crash. Coinbase confirmed they are not considering XRP. Huge news to sell Ripple right there.

More folks will realize it is the Mother of all Shitcoins.

More folks will HODL Ripple and get fleeced like the sheep they are.

Pretty standard really.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2k+2 months = 10x ? on: January 07, 2018, 12:14:42 AM
Getting 10x out of BTC, NEO, ADeX and XRP is a tall order in 2 months. I don't see it happening.

BTC is solid for hodling and keeping a stable portfolio at the moment.
Neo is a great choice for a few x gain over a few months, as I see it as a 0.5ETH coin, so around $500 right now.
ADeX is solid too, but XRP I would bail out of. Overhyped and terrible shitcoin IMO.

I'd swap out BTC for DeepBrain Chain (DBC). I see big gains there.
I'd swap out XRP for SpectreCoin (XSPEC). I see big gains there as well.

A portfolio of the following has a decent chance to return 10x in 2 months:
DBC
NEO
ADeX
XSPEC
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What coins are about to explode? on: January 05, 2018, 10:49:05 PM
My 3 picks for coins about to explode include Neo, SpectreCoin, and Quantum

Neo is a safe and smart play, sitting at ~ $90 and a marketcap of $5.9 billion.
I see Neo rivaling Ethereum and reaching a minimum of $500 by the end of 2018, for a nice 5.5x gain from here.

SpectreCoin (Xspec) is a future power play, sitting at ~ $4 and a marketcap of $90 million.
I see Xspec rivaling Monero and reaching a minimum of $100 by the end of 2018, for a big 25x gain from here.

Quantum (QAU) is a monster speculative play, sitting at ~ $0.44 and a marketcap of $34 million.
QAU is unique as the amount of coins in circulation actually decreases over time. Think about what that does to price...
I see QAU skyrocketing and reaching $50 by the end of 2018, for a huge 110x gain from here.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grow private coins. on: January 05, 2018, 11:30:01 AM
Torn between XSPEC and Sumo at the moment. Personal favourite remains Monero though

Whenever I'm torn between 2 coins in the same space, I just take whatever % I was going to put into it, and divide it between the two evenly.

That way you diversify, which is always good, and you get the benefit if one of them proves to be a winner.
