Bitcoin is still ethereal and mysterious to many people. Many people get their news from the press, hearing the talks about the illegal activities and the rise and crash of the price. If any acceptance is to happen it will have to be after a renewal of information.

Well, you see scammers disappearing with coins everyday. If he really wanted to, he would just have to wait until brick-and-mortar stores or online stores accept BTC as a form of payment and he could spend those BTC directly there, no need for selling them first.
Exactly this. When you stop selling BTC for fiat and instead use it to buy products from brick and mortar stores, you are no longer devaluing bitcoin, instead, you are helping it grow, distributing it more, nad make it more viable as an everyday currency. This is what he would have wanted.

why is this weeks payment are lower than last week?
and i do not see any difficulty increase between the period 09/11/2014 and 16/11/2014
so payments must be the same, or greater than last week(in case a purchase of new contract in the middle of the week)
Just a guess here, but the payout seemed earlier to me. That could be it. This, plus there was difficulty increase last week, so part of the last week mining was with lower difficulty (thus higher last week payout)

Speculator right now having an unrealistic view of the market.
If you buy bitcoin at $590, how much further do you think it will go up?
Not as much potential as pump and dump altcoins, but Bitcoin is a lot safer bet.

The need for people to have to store, hide, protect and backup their private Bitcoin addresses sucks imo. That's one of the weaknesses of Bitcoin.
You have it backwards. The ability to be the sole individual responsible for securing and spending my money is one of the greatest strengths of Bitcoin! No middlemen or authorities required. Yes, this is biggest strength of Bitcoin, but only for tech-savvy. I just hope in few years there will be very secure and cheap hardware wallet, so everyone can safely use Bitcoin even on compromised computer. I think this will be next Bitcoin milestone.

Seems too much FUD, Litecoin is not dead at all now. Miners do not support dead coins... I mean time to find new block is at least hours for dead coins.
But I do not say it cant happen to Litecoin in next months, I just think the likelihood is very small

So you can guarantee that Bitstamp and friends are safe, and there won´t ever be problems withdrawing funds(USD/BTC) due to US(FBI) investigations?
Bitstamp is not operating from USA, so it needs to be Slovenia investigations (I guess Bitstamp is located there)

Botnets are very good for some things and not very good for others. The bottom line is the owner of a botnet wants to keep his botnet as large as possible and for as much as is possible, undetected.
This means two things, this is risky for the owner of the botnet as he may have people de-infect their PC or turn it off altogether, this also makes these botnets very expensive to rent. This then throws into question not just risk/reward but whether you will actually break even.
The more valuable the CPU only coin is the more you can expect botnet to be used. Im affraid but if the coin is as valuable as Bitcoin, botnets would have majority of mined blocks.

Is there any reason for pre announcements? Like 2x as much attention for bitpay Anyway, nice to see good Bitcoin news after some time, whatever it is

Almost half of 21 mil coins to be mined. Not bad, my miner will be busy for long time to receive fair share of the remaining coins

Any way to take the bitcoins out of the U.S. ? Tax Free?
No, ever if you change citizenship, you have to pay taxes to U.S. Your basically U.S. tax slave forever
