1  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: WeExchange on: May 15, 2013, 01:04:03 PM
WeExchange service is very poor.

I tried to deposit $200 into my WeExchange account 11 days ago. I followed the instructions on their website to add funds in AUD - after clicking the 'add funds' link the instructions were to deposit AUD into their ANZ bank account and include a supplied reference number with the deposit. This I did.

After a number of days my account did not show the funds. I opened a support ticket on their website. After a number of days I get a reply telling me I need to have my identity verified, and the account name and the deposit name need to be the same (NO MENTION OF THAT ON THE PAGE WITH THE DEPOSIT INSTRUCTIONS). They ask if I want to change my account name to match the name of the depositor - I say yes please, and ask if I am able to do this myself.

Well that was over a week ago. They still have my $200, but have not credited my account. They have not changed my profile details, and there does not seem to be a way to edit your own profile details on the WeExchange website. They have not replied to a number of support ticket follow up messages from myself.

WeExchange support is non-existent. I have no option but to post a message here and hope they reply.

WeExchange is a scam as far as I am concerned!

Just to start... I am not associated with WeExchange so please don't take my comments as official!
If you are looking for an exchange that won't have their bank accounts frozen or totally collapse then don't go with ANY that do not ask for a verified identity as they WILL fail. That is just a fact and while I agree that it should tell you beforehand if you don't realise that then you are gambling with your coins.
Personally I have never had a problem with WeExchange and have found it the best AUD site around... and I have always received a prompt response from their IRC channel #weex
In saying that, there are deficiencies in their site including the inability to change profile details and the fact that the front page looks like a phishing site! Although I have been hearing for the last month that this will be changed "next week" Wink
Considering that the whole premise of this decentralised currency is compromised by 80% of transactions going through 1 exchange means I seriously hope that WeExchange survives (and not just because it handles AUD without extortionate fees!)
I for one will continue to support WeExchange in the hope that it becomes a viable Australian alternative to Gox and that maybe it will inspire others to make access to Bitcoins easier.

I deleted the content to save space.... but you guys need to take a good hard look at yourselves!
Someone makes an offer based on a chain of requirements and people get all uppity about the terms and conditions?! If you don't like it then there are others about and take your chips there!
Personally I think burnin should be handed a medal not abuse as he will undoubtedly make less than those who chose to stay with him (a reputable person).
PS. due to personal circumstances I am taking advantage of zefir's buyback, so I have no personal interest in whether burnin has business... but I do hate seeing people try to do the right thing and get hounded for it!

Sorry for the newbie question but what happens if vanitygen throws up an address already in use by someone else? or did I miss the bit where is said it won't do this?

I am in with my 200 chips! (provided I can work out how to find out the address I sent from in Bitcoin-QT lol)

Is your power supply sufficient?

Can I suggest pulling one of the cards and seeing what the hashrate is for one card?
I had a similar problem with one card producing the expected hashrate but two cards combined producing about the same as one... I solved it by using a spare box I had lying around so I am sorry I am not of more help, but at least you will know if it is the cards or something else.

My personal opinion is that your question depends on what you need/want from Bitcoin.
If you want to buy things with it then go with a mining rig (although other than a cheap deal on ebay, ASIC is the only longer term way). It baffles me when I hear people complaining about the high price of Avalon #3 when it would appear to me that a 3mth ROI would still be possible at a network hashrate of 175TH/s and a 6mth ROI at 355TH/s assuming a price of $50 per BTC! When was the last time you saw an investment that paid for itself and then went on making money after less than 6mths?! If you only spend the Bitcoin you make then it is almost irrelevant what the exchange rates are.
If you want to make big money then you and me need to invent time travel and go back to when BTC was $5 and the Avalon guys were shopping around for pre-orders... but first we should go forward and see if BFL ever ship Wink
As for currency markets, I am less familiar with this side of it, but from what I have read there are people who say this is a bubble that will inevitably crash and others that say that BTC has been under valued for so long this is just catching up. Consult a psychic, flip a coin... if you can predict it accurately then I certainly wouldn't share how with anyone! lol
I grew up on a farm, cash poor but asset rich... so I will always go with the option of buying an asset that may have some value later (ie. the mining rig).
Anyway that is just my 0.2BTC Wink

Yay... nothing like replying to your own post lol

So I gave up... an hour with linux, apache, php5 and mysql and it was running fine...
Funny how a GUI sometimes doesn't make things easier! lol
11  Other / Beginners & Help / ANUBIS frontend on: April 02, 2013, 08:05:36 AM
Hi everyone,
I have been trying to get Anubis working on an IIS 8 setup on Windows Server 2012. I have installed PHP 5.4 and MySQL 5.6.
Almost everything works... I can serve php pages and access the mysql database via php.
When I open index.php inside Anubis I get the opening screen (I have had this working on a ubuntu/apache setup so I know what it should look like) just as it should look.
I click on add host and can add a host ok, but after that I lose the 'add host' link and the totals column that was there before.
If I go into mysql and manually look at the table there are entries for the hosts I add but I have to manually delete the hosts to get the proper index page back.
Anyone have any ideas on what I may have done wrong?
Cheers Forrie
