5. Is SWC insolvent? Would it bankrupt the site to repay stolen funds? I see that the guarantees on the overkrills were lowered again a few days ago, while the rake caps and minimum withdrawals have remained unchanged. This, in addition to SWC cutting back every other player promotion on the site (leaderboard, high-krill krillrolls), makes me presume that the site is losing money. What happens when you're raking less than your overhead costs? Are you going to just turn off the servers when your BTC faucet runs dry, thus turning the bug into an exit scam?
They've publicly said that they haven't made a profit since they took over from Micon. I wouldn't expect the stolen money to be returned to the players anytime soon, especially at the current price of bitcoin. Cool so it sounds like based on the announcement, they're gathering info on the issue and trying to reach the most effective solution. What makes you think there is wrongdoing involved in fixing the issue. Do you know how a company works? Have you ever managed a system? Be glad it sounds like they plan on launching a strong effort to locate the most high impact instances of the issue and be glad it seems repayment is part of that plan. I know dumb americunts get used to companies shitting out money indiscriminately based on possible technical errors, but don't forget these are very important to finances of a company in a space dealing with a highly volatile currency. It's industry standard to use great caution in confirming problems prematurely, especially when they are not frequent. If you think BTC price doesn't play a part in the timeline of addressing this issue, you are an idiot and should do some research on risk management before you move your money somewhere. Anyway, it sounds like the plan is to make sure players are compensated right away for Bitcoin Cash, which can be calculated very easily and paid out using a rudimentary and secure system. There are no ambiguities and it's great that they're doing it. That can be done with a clear timeline and should be a priority as a gesture of good will while research continues. I am glad there isn't some sort of wacky attempt at explaining the issue before they can fully understand it. Make your own judgements on whether or not the site is trustworthy. It's not your normal poker site and they are swinging for the fences with the variety of games they offer. It's also not the same kind of highly censored site (which goes against the idea of BTC) relying on advertisement money to pay for expensive systems. Understand what kind of community you are supporting and your expectations, as well as criticisms, will evolve accordingly. Has anyone here received any form of higher education? That has to be the cringiest thing I've ever read, marlais ^ Just read it yourself. Think about some of your points. You walk back on your more inflammatory statements multiple times, and somehow you come to conclusion that site is not safe to keep funds on, without even a hint of technical evidence to back it up. I've never had a problem with my funds being lost on this site, and I trust that any actual issue of scale will come to surface on its own. Sigh I literally cant. I'm so anxious and threatened right now. Anyway I came here to say all this bullshit is just the result of people thinking they might have money floating around out there when BTC is at an all time high. I don't actually know what is going on, but as a player I'm willing to reject any form of compensation the site tries to provide me. I had an old account 4-5 years ago prior to the change in ownership and Micon drama. I'd like to reactivate my account if possible, but I'm a little worried that I no longer have access to the email. Is there someone I can talk with or a process I can go through to recover my account? I'd like to play again, but I want to make sure I get credit for the krill on previous account.

nope, you're probably fucked. I was signed up under a friend of mine who was receiving affiliate payments from my account since 2012, my friend has not used his account since then but the affiliate payments from me playing were going to his account. When I found this out recently and told my friend to contact swc to transfer the account over(which would at the very least have 10-20 bitcoins worth of affiliate payments) they told him they could not do it because it was too late. On another note, your Krill isn't worth shit, they haven't had the krill freerolls for over a year and the site is basically dead. Keep your money off this scam of a site and let it die. This is not seals with clubs like it used to be, its run by even more incompetent anonymous owners than the old site and as kook stated above me they have yet to even publicly address the fact that there is a huge bug that lets the site steal money from players let alone repay those players( I'm sure I'm owed at least a coin from that alone) It's unfortunate but that is the reality. |

Promoting Betcoin is only damaging the future of Bitcoin poker. You're only promoting them because they pay you more than any other site. Pathetic. Close but incorrect. I am promoting them because they're paying for my signature space. However, I wouldn't sell that space to just anyone. Fact of the matter is that their software (while certainly not great) is working better than SWC at the moment. The other fact of the matter is that I'm not convinced by your constant trolling of them. From what I've seen, they're really just looking better and better the more you are throwing crap at them and they're having to learn how to deal with it. Anywhoo, it's my sincere hope that SWC gets a working client for non-windoze users sometime. But I'm really less hopeful that that will ever happen than I used to be. damn dude you really need a link to the shit betcoin has done? most recently I remember somehing about a 503 btc jackpot winner being scammed(took a settlement or something) but they tried to pay him out 1 coin and be like stfu. |

Time to read the thread dude. The main reason why is that their old, cross-platform, working software was abandoned for a buggy, windows-only software. I think the majority of the old players simply cannot connect or when the do connect there are too many bugs.
The old software was a lot less stable than the new one. When was the last time you actually logged on? Last time I logged in was last time they had software for a system that I have access to. I think it was in December of 2014, IIRC. You can say the new software is "more stable". But I wouldn't know because I've never been able to get it to work at all. I tried it with WINE and they laughed at me (upthread). the connection problems are nearly non existant for me and most players on the site, sure disconnects and bugs happen from time to time, but I'd still ratehr play here than a site that steals and cheats their players like Betcoin.
Ok, I'd rather play at swc too, but they stil (after 1.5 years) haven't come up with any software that I can run. I can show you how to set up virtual box and windows on it in about 15 minutes. I can do it for you in 45m to an hour if ur a lil slow and need me to set it up. But I agree with you that they need to expand to other platforms and mobile. |

Amusingly enough, Seals is also how I found bitcoins and I tried to play on SWC through the summer but the games just dried up so much that there was never really any games to play.
I'm in the same boat. I used to love seals. While it wasn't actually how I first found bitcoin, it was one of the first things I did with bitcoin when I found it. They had an open and accessible platform, no bullshit, no collecting personal data, etc. Beautiful. I finally came to grips that seals actually died back in the day and swc is simply not sealwithclubs. It's a different site with different management and different principles. The new site is focused on Windows players and we see how that worked out. As far as I can tell, it's just a long slow deathride here. It's unfortunate but we may as well come to grips with the reality. Pretending it's not real doesn't make it any less real. Don't take this the wrong way dude, but its hard to take your opinion seriously when you have a betcoin referral signature. I'm not sure if you know this, but if you're on a mac or linux, you can easily set up a free Virtual Machine that runs windows, as well as use teamviewer on your smartphone or tablet to play remotely. out of all of their problems, the fact that they are focused on windows is not the worst of them. |
