1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [CryptoNight] CPU mining guide & coins that will get you a return on: June 29, 2018, 10:06:52 AM
You write that the GPU is harder to find in shops/online.  It's not true. All retailers and secondary market are overloaded with video cards.
I think that the CryptoNight algorithm has nothing to do with the CPU. If it becomes profitable, there will immediately come a lot of GPUs.
Most coins from 1 post are decentralized digital money. It is based on CryptoNote anonymous technology. It is forks monero or coins with a similar idea and technology. And to mine them on the CPU hoping for a pamp like a game of roulette Cheesy
The only chance to make money on the CPU is to find new coins on algorithms where there is no GPU.

Most GPU miners are not profitable if you have to pay $0.15/kWh. So there is a overload of GPU now.

I'm using the pool http://solacecoin.cryptonote.host but cryptoknight.cc are opening one tomorrow.

Is the coin listed?
3  Bitcoin / Press / Re: Turkey’s first bitcoin seizure operation on: November 16, 2017, 07:19:31 PM
A businessman had 450 bitcoins in his laptop. Bitcoin gang kidnapped the businessman with his laptop. They used power and forced the businessman to transfer all the bitcoins to their account. Afterwards the businessman filed a criminal complaint to police against the gang. The police identified the members of the gang and a special group followed them in internet. While they kidnapped a new bitcoin owner the police organized an operation and catched them with their hands in the cookie jar. And also the police found tenths of mining equipments in their houses.

So the bitcoin is a valid property and will be protected. Smiley

6  Economy / Economics / Re: If bitcoin price is $10.000, will fiat be worthless? on: June 11, 2017, 04:53:27 PM
I do not believe fiat can ever be replaced as the government exist.
The government could ban bitcoin so the value of bitcoin could drop to non existent to one's country

Government will always be there so there's no way for bitcoin to make the fiat worthless. But who doesn't like when the price of bitcoin starts to reach at $10k? No matter what will be the price of bitcoin, decentralize is decentralize and government will not advice people to depend on crypto currency, there will always be fiat.

I think it is all relative. When the bitcoin price break $10,000. It will soon be $100,000.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v9.3 (Windows/Linux) on: January 01, 2017, 11:46:01 AM

For the 280X, the 9.3 is about 1% higher speed. So not much difference.
8  Economy / Economics / Re: If bitcoin price is $10.000, will fiat be worthless? on: November 27, 2016, 07:01:55 PM
Fiat will always need. And it is not dependent on the price of Bitcoin. there are many countries who know little about Bitcoin and increase its cost will not affect the centralized currency

Fiat got physical forms such as notes. They can be useful in the places without internet or the elctricity supply.
9  Economy / Economics / Re: If bitcoin price is $10.000, will fiat be worthless? on: October 27, 2016, 05:52:00 PM
I usually dont check the value of the bitcoins i do have, because when i log in into poloniex i got the worth of the day, but i dont check it at all i do use those menu to deposits and cashouts, but i do see the value, all i care now is to get bitcoin since i do pretend to make one last project and then start saving bitcoins for a better price or a possible need into the future.

There is no need to check the bitcoin price daily. It is very volatile. But the long term trend is up now.
10  Economy / Economics / Re: If bitcoin price is $10.000, will fiat be worthless? on: October 21, 2016, 07:37:04 AM
On the first hand Bitcoin will never reach that value and we have to be realistic and not dream because this is all wasted time if we talk about that it will reach the $10,000 so stop it also.
And no Fiat will be not worthless if that is going to happen but first you must let it happen and than we all can talk futher, the price is not even rise in the halving now.
Right 10,000$ in only in his dream because we know that the price of bitcoin can not reach that price.
Fiat is can not be worthless because you can not use bitcoin directly to buy you want you need it first to convert it and use fiat to buy things.

It's not really just in our dreams. Bitcoin used to seem impossible to reach $1 in the first years. Then it seemed impossible to reach $10, and then $100 and then $1000. Now it seems impossible for the price to reach $10k, but in my honest opinion.. With the recent halving, it's not impossible at all.

After the SegWit is fully implemented, or the bitcoin block size is increased to 2MB or higher, the price will break $1000.
11  Economy / Economics / Re: If bitcoin price is $10.000, will fiat be worthless? on: October 04, 2016, 05:30:19 PM
In one of the topics I read "If bitcoin will reach $10.000, fiat currency has become worthless"
Do you agree with this statement?
yes , because with this price everyone who are in bitcoin work or earning program , everyone will get the same profit or loss . if the bitcoin price will increase upto $10k then there will be absolutely fiat currency will worthless .

It wont happen even how high  on the price of  bitcoin  because the value  itself  would  depend on fiat and   there no way that it would   be useless even  bitcoin would soar high.  Bitcoin wont be  a   competitor  on fiat because  fiat is  so vast and  well established and been used  already  on many centuries.
Yes and fiat will always exist no matter how higher price bitcoin achieves in future as there are many people who will prefer to use only fiat and won't bother about bitcoins.
I think prices will play an important role for the survival of bitcoin itself, it seems you should see a thread about "bitcoin does price matter?" you can see how high prices could increase the level of interest in bitcoin users to use, so the high prices will be necessary,

If the bitcoin price keeps on rising, people's will be interested in it and it will be used quite a lot.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: If bitcoin price is $10.000, will fiat be worthless? on: September 20, 2016, 08:29:28 AM
I don't think so, bitcoin price will not affect the fiat, even the price of bitcoin reach $100.000, fiat still worth and many people still using fiat. Bitcoin will not affect fiat.
yes it is not such an easy job to make fiat worthless, actually the number of people using bitcoin is very low therefore most of the people are still using and depending of fiat, therefore fiat cannot be made worthless in recently.

The fiat will always be supported by the government. That is a good way to exploit the people with inflation.
13  Economy / Economics / Re: If bitcoin price is $10.000, will fiat be worthless? on: September 10, 2016, 08:07:35 AM
I firmly believe that $10k is easily achievable just via the store of value properties alone of BTC.
If BTC ever moves beyond the 1 Trillion mkt cap, eminently possible even inveitable given that Central Banks are pumping 100s of Billions into the global economy every month, the fiat world at its core will start getting decimated
of course it is really achievable and in my opinion we will reach such a big price in only like a few years or something like that

It can be achieved but not so easily and no one knows when exactly it will happen but I don't think that people will prefer to hold their coins till it reaches to that value.

If the price trend of the bitcoin is the same as before, I  think the price of bitcoin can reach that level in a few years.
14  Economy / Economics / Re: If bitcoin price is $10.000, will fiat be worthless? on: August 27, 2016, 07:38:49 AM
Two possibilities:

According to James Rickards, gold is going to be worth $10,000 an ounce of gold (today USD 1.3k). If Bitcoin reaches $10,000, I'd say the catastrophe would be even bigger. Fiat almost worthless.

OR

The financial bubble we are experiencing today gets so big that bitcoin 16-folds its current price, and the same happens to every other asset (not necessarily in the same magnitude. Fiat almost worthless.

Final result: Yes, fiat would be worthless.

I do not think so. If the bitcoin is even $1m, it is just less than about 10% of the world currency usage, the rest will be fiat.
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will rise? on: August 10, 2016, 08:06:30 AM

May be you are right it will take long time to achieve the price of $2k and I don't see it happening in this year and even if it touches that price in next year, it will not stay there for long term.

I think it will take 15 to 24 months for the bitcoin to rise to $2000. After the introduction of SegWit, it could be faster.

I believe if the SegWit or the Block size increase is implemented, the bitcoin price could be at $2000 in 12 months.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's stopping people from using bitcoin? on: August 01, 2016, 03:05:25 PM
The bitcoin transaction confirmation is too slow at the moment. I would prefer the litecoin or Ethereum.
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will rise? on: July 18, 2016, 02:11:56 PM
The variations will occur depending on the situation of the miners, now that the halving is reached. But a think that the rise in the last months is more than enough for most of them to make profit.

Most miners are still profitable after the recent bitcoin price rise. It is indicated by the rise of the difficulty.

The next difficulty adjustment will be almost flat. It seems new efficient miners are replacing the old miners.
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why did you come to Bitcointalk? on: July 02, 2016, 10:09:46 AM
I just want to learn more about the  bitcoin and see the new progress and development in the crypto currencies.
