Firm That Exposed Breach Of 'Billion Passwords' Quickly Offered $120 Service To Find Out If You're Affected

Why I Am Skeptical About 1.2-Billion Passwords Being Stolen

Fortunately, Alex Holden of Hold Security - the cybersecurity firm credited by the New York Times with discovering this cryptocurrency password breach AND the 1.2B passwords recently stolen by them pesky Russkies - has offer up a monthly service to see if you're shit had been hacked.

Quote
Alex Holden, a devoted Bitcoiner, says that the service will only be $120/month. “We are charging this fee to recover our expense to verify the domain or website ownership,” he says by email. “While we do not anticipate any fraud, we need to be cognizant of its potential. The other thing to consider, the cost that our company must undertake to proactively reach out to a company to identify the right individual(s) to inform of a breach, prove to them that we are the ‘good guys’. Believe it or not, it is a hard and often thankless task.”

Woah really? I guess I better go and change my password I use on all sites... How can they do this? I mean Bitcoin is supposed to be safe. I hope my coins on BTC-e are still safe.

Don't bother!: http://www.youarenotpayingattention.com/2014/08/08/the-lie-behind-1-2-billion-stolen-passwords/

Woah, alright then. I guess we all have gotten away safely this time. But I think I'll just change my password on the most important sites, anyways. I'll have to remember two then, though... Haha, Millionaire-problems, I guess Cheesy
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Osborne makes a withdrawal from a Bitcoin ATM on: August 08, 2014, 07:42:50 PM
U.K.’s Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, bought bitcoins for the first time from Cointrader.net’s

Whoa, who's that guy?? Is he like part of the Royal Family?? The one with the Queen and those princes? If they really are embracing Bitcoin, I mean wow, there could be a lot of money coming in. They're all traditional, I know, but they also gotta pay their bills... (Do they actually have to pay bills on their own???)
3  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Exchanges on: August 08, 2014, 07:40:47 PM
No btc-e so far? They have the trollbox and works fine.

In fact the only ones I use is btc-e and an underground local exchange,  so can't really say that I have a lot of compation ground.

(Also used Craptsy in the past with not good experiences, so I don't recommend)

Yeah BTC-e is a nice site, yeah! They have a lot of coins there, but I really don't care that much for alt coins, I'll have to admit Cheesy But they also have that awesome chat box where people warn each other before an incoming crash. Saved me hundreds of BTC already! Good community!
4  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best signature campaign for "member" rank? on: August 08, 2014, 07:39:27 PM
Today I reached the member rank, what is the best sign campaign I can join and why?
Thanks

I'll just go with PrimeDice. I mean, I obviously have enough BTC already, I'm a freaking BitcoinMillionaire, after all, haha! But I don't wanna just sit there and live off my coins, I wanna continue earning something. That Stunna guy (the operator) seems like a legit person, and he pays people regularly and doesn't mess around with them!
5  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price in 2015 on: August 08, 2014, 07:37:30 PM
Hey guys, I was just messing around with the price of bitcoin because I don’t have much to do in my work.
So I picked up the last three bubble prices and see that in the first bubble, bitcoin price went up around 3000%, from 1 to 30 USD.
The second bubble, the price got at 200 from 10, so it was around 2000%.
The last bubble the price went to 1000 from 100, around 1000%.

I think the next bubble will be at 600% - 750%, I picked up the prices from the last bubble and multiplied by this percentage just to see how it will be.

So here it is. Have fun!  Grin

Whoa, for a second there I thought you had access to future Bitcoin prices!!! That would be awesome, but why would you share them, rather than just profit on your own!!?? But yeah, that seems like a very well done forecast and I think you may be spot on with it! Billions, baby!
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many Bitcoins needed to retire in 5-6 years? on: August 08, 2014, 07:36:24 PM
Depends on the future price of bitcoins obviously, but I think that everything bigger than 100 btc should be fine.

So you guess I may be fine? I sometimes worry I can't continue my lifestyle when I retire. You know, that I don't have enough money for the relaxing years of my life!
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: Some good news for you! on: August 08, 2014, 07:34:47 PM
OPEN BAZAAR is opening in December!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAGij8FSrNc&feature=youtu.be

This is going to be awesome!  Grin  Cool

Yesss, man! Great so how can you open up a shop on that market? Will I be able to buy everything there? The whole decentralised nature can be confusing at times!!!
8  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 08, 2014, 07:32:41 PM
Only 21000BTC left untile we reach 6000$ on Bitstamp!!!!

15500BTC of them lay in front of 700$...

Hahah, YEAH man, that's the spirit! We just need some big whale guy who buys us all the way up into BTC-heaven! I think there are quite some people who could actually do that!
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC price hiked at $7300 per BTC, what does this mean!? on: August 08, 2014, 07:30:35 PM
Did you read this?

http://www.silverdoctors.com/bitcoin-spikes-to-all-time-high-over-7300-from-dark-pool-settlement/

Can someone confirm/denie this, was it a glitch or something in the system? (cause i dont think that guy is lying, i belive its true, but it might have been just be some "program error" on the side of on the programs involved...?

What do you think, what do you think about that "dark pools" trading?

Ha, it was a blast from the future, I tell you! Haha! I guess it isn't that far-fetched to assume Bitcoin will be worth a couple thousand USD in the future, is it? Man, imagine how much my Bitcoin Millions are going to be worth then!!!
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Satoshi will ever spend his bitcoins? on: August 08, 2014, 07:29:16 PM
So, do you think Satoshi will ever spend his bitcoins?
You can only answer with Yes or No on the poll. Got it?

This is going to be very interesting to see the results.
The reason there isn't a "maybe" is so that we can get a definite answer.

Ha, the guy who invented this awesome currency??? Nahhh, I don't know... I guess he's one of those ultra-smart geeks or nerds that don't get off of money or women and stuff. But I'd like to invite him one day so I can show him a good time, if you know what I mean, hahah!
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 0.2 FEE!!!! ? am i missing something? on: August 08, 2014, 07:28:17 PM
did i just lose a .2btc transaction because the fee was set at .2btc?

Aww man, I'm so sorry reading that!! Things can be confusing in advanced settings, yeah... Better just stick to the regular send-feature! I once almost screwed up with those long Bitcoin addresses. Mixed up a few numbers or letters. It was already pretty late and I was out partying!
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin magazine sells for USD?!?! on: August 08, 2014, 07:26:57 PM
I don't see problem here.
Not everybody interested in bitcoin already have bitcoin in their wallet.
If goal of this magazine is to have readers not just from bitcoin community but also from people not involved in bitcoin business yet, than it make sense to offer different payment options.

Yeah! A great reason, you're right! I also rather spend my USD, than spend my precious Bitcoins. I don't intend to spend them, otherwise I'd pretty soon won't be a BitcoinMillionaire anymore, hahaha!

Umm guys, is this guy for real? I mean isn't this one of those impossible things? I mean, you can't just create infinite energy with such a machine basically powering itself, can you? I'm puzzled now!
14  Other / Off-topic / Re: I've made a CAT 797 truck simulator game for android! on: August 08, 2014, 07:24:39 PM

WOah, are you kidding me! That's a great idea. I mean trucks are awesome as crap! You can drive those things in Vegas, man... A great thing for a bachelor's party, I can tell you, hahah! Back when I wasn't a BitcoinMillionaire yet, I planned on doing construction work in order to drive those babies all day long, man!

I'm not really such a books-person, to be honest! I rather watch some good movies or party at the club! But you know, back in school this 'Watership Down' book somehow got to me... I mean, man, those rabbits have the same feelings as people do? Are they really that complex??? Hard stuff for children, man!
18  Other / Off-topic / Re: Tomorrow is my birthday! on: August 08, 2014, 07:19:44 PM
I am going to turn 21 in less then 24 hours.

Anyways, congratulations man, and PARTY ON!!!
19  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you willing to go above and beyond at work on: August 08, 2014, 07:18:14 PM
this may include anything ranging from putting in some extra hours without pay, help to finish work not in your job description, etc.

let's assume this is a white collar office job.

Nah, stick it to the man if they force you to work longer than your contract states! No way they are able to can you for doing what your contract says. They can't treat you like some cheap dirt! Haha, man, speak up for yourselves!

Wow, geez that's a sad thing to hear! Imagine you live there! I know, we're all into Bitcoin. But the regular public still doesn't know that much about it! I really feel sorry for all the people over there.
