If he pays what he gets through daily profit with 65 BTC it will take that long as you said gise87 but if he keeps the profit and reinvests it every day he will be able to pay all back in 6 months. The best thing he can do is reopen a secure btc-arbs page accept new investments and hold the legacy funds for 6 months at most and he will be able to pay everyone back in less that 6 months. I would do that. Is the fastest way to fix this problem. I offered BTC-Arbs my collaboration with some ideas but he never replied. He could get together with other people doing efficient arbitrage and with people with experience doing secure web pages and make that happen.  I am not sure which are the real intentions behind all these.

If he has 65 BTC, he will need to gather 379 for the people currently listed (444-65=379)

With 0,65BTC per day, he will need 583 days to gather the 379BTC.
583 days = 1,59 years

The time to refund everyone can decrease dramatically depending on how many coins he actually has.

If he has:
100BTC = 1,44 yrs
200BTC = 1,02 yrs
300BTC = 0,6 yrs

But, without real figures we can only guess how long it will take

I would say that according to the 1% average he was doing per day if he is making 0.65 BTC a day, he has only 65BTC. He owes 444.48 BTC.
So according to my calculations he will be able to repay all back in 194 days. x=log(444.48/65)/log(1.01)
So sit down and wait till January 2015. Not that bad.

Based on the refund rate (on average 0,65 BTC / day) and the amounts we were receiving on the btc-arbs platform during march and beginning of april, I would bet our friend will say he's playing with around less than 100 btc...  looooong way to recover.

3  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: btc-arbs.com - Update: dying HYIP, admin. claimed 2 try 2 refund our investment on: June 05, 2014, 08:23:03 PM
BTC-Arbs doesn't have all BTC because he was hacked. So the payments is going to be slow because he is paying us with arbitrage profit. So it may take half year to pay us all back. Maybe more. According to the estimate I made when BTC-Arbs was paying us through the legacy system it was going to take a year. So if he try to pay faster than that not everybody will receive a full refund. I hope he is not doing anything unsustainable. I wish I would have real numbers of BTC owed and BTC lost.

I believe this will take time. I would be patient since it may be that he is trying to make some arbitrage profit to pay us back. I understand it as long as he is trying to do things right. I have two users in btc-arbs: "hongo" and "viru". Add "hongo" to the fully refunded (without earning) list and "viru" to the not yet refunded. I have surrendered my earnings since I prefer to have my money back than nothing. If all this story (the hacking and the arbitrage) is true and if I were in your place I would do my part to help out and surrender the earnings too. In that way more people will have the chance to be refunded but you probably need to say this explicitly.

I was refunded successfully. Thanks. I think this was a real failed attempt of arbitrage. if you wish to be refunded you will have to surrender your earnings since if it is true that the site was hacked and btc stollen they don't have enough funds to pay all back. I did surrender my earnings and I got all my funds back. Thanks to BTC-Arbs at least for doing this right. Please also payback to my referred "viru"

Thanks for showing up. I think the true is more credible than that the site was bought by "capital global alliance". That is what made the people to withdraw all the btc, the lie. Also that the fact that the site was DDOS at first place and you didn't report it to the users. People always suspected this was a ponzi scheme so at first sign of scam they started withdrawing the money. The lack of communication through email is also a factor of suspicion. I think you should pay the remaining btc you have to the ones they ask. The payment should be proportionally of the money people invested on the site. For me is Ok to get whatever you have without including interest. It would be nice if you can report the proportion of money stolen or the proportion of money you can payback. I think if you start again with the true and good communication people may trust again in you and reinvest and even wait for the full repayment of the debth. A better transparency of your side regarding how you really run the business, who you are, where you are, how you do it would give us more trust.

RickyCardero: so we have a clue. We may not be able to force the exchange to give that information but justice can. If we go through legal justice channels they can get this information. Maybe someone in Munich can go to the police and report this fraud with this clue so they can investigate.

As it was said before a guy deposited some money to them in a bank in Hong Kong and I heard another that did in a bank in US. You cannot open a real bank account without real personal information. So it must be possible to find the guy and if he doesn't want to give the money back he will have to pay with his properties, whatever he has. Or they might be other ways to make him pay... We should organize ourselves and plan the next steps. We should open a group somewhere and share information like bank account info of the site, BTC addresses related to the site (specially the one with 100 000 BTC), our emails, our balances, etc. We can do it anonymously if you wish. We have to gather information for a possible lawsuit.

Is there any way to trace the responsible for this site? They were receiving payments in USD through bank account and the domain name is .com. Do someone has the bank information?
