1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can people be buying eth right now? on: August 23, 2016, 07:19:11 AM
I made a thread about bots on Poloniex and I think it's a number of people just using bots against ETH to create it's volume. The more people that switch there bots to other currencies the more the ETH price will start to fall. Until then even 10k btc in bot programs can keep the marketcap elevated like this.

Every single bot that works; from your script kiddie's basic python script to professional bots you can buy.

It would be awesome to have exchanges work without showing buy and sell walls up to a single satoshi but the lack of transparency wouldn't worth it.

But still, coins with let's say a value of 5532 sats only showing on exchanges as 5k sats for buy and 6k sats for sell would render most bots useless.

I don't care for arbitrage bots, good for them for noticing the discrepancy but price manipulating bots are a serious cancer to cryptos.

It's impossible to tell what the real volume of these coins would be if it was left up to manual trading. ETH generates over 90% of it's volume from bots on Poloniex and same for many other coins but it doesn't reflect true interest.

Which high frequency bot programs are being used on Poloniex to trade the top choice coins? Are they programs created by individual traders or is there third party services traders use?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CPC] Capricoin - The Peoples Coin on: July 13, 2016, 11:10:47 AM
I saw this coin on worldcoinindex having a $48 million marketcap. This is deceiving because 200 million is premine out of the 208 million. The real marketcap is $1.84 million and the price would be way lower if all that premine came onto the market. This smells like a long con ponzi to me.

There are many quality projects out there that are premined, and using strategy for distribution.  Your paranoia keeps you from being interested in these projects!  The truth is, a project that has some degree of centralization at first allows for a greater ability to manage the rollout of a currency successfully with greater speed through concerted marketing strategies etc..  Many different coins out there are doing pre-mines to allow for this flexibility and also to pay the development who has a long term view on the project anyways with all the hard work put in to bring these projects to fruition etc.  Capricoin is no different in that respect.

In another respect, what you have with Capricoin, is the first cryptocurrency on the public traded exchange that has an actual marketing arm that is 'behind it' but not directly tied or correlated to it fiscally.  Vizionary is a structure that stands on it's own, just as Capricoin is a cryptocurrency that stands on it's own and has a value that is purely dictated by the supply and demand on the public traded exchanges.  Except Capricoin has an advantage.. it is supported by a large and growing population thanks to the marketing model that is behind it, it incentivizes interest in the coin on the exchange which provides upwards growth in combination with all the naturally developing outside interest from traffic such as these forums and the many pieces of SEO'd content that many people are generating in support of the coin.

So if you look at the big picture you have an awesome opportunity to grow your money with Capricoin.  And if you look at it's launch about a year ago to Bittrex and Bleutrade, you will see that Capricoin is actually up close to 500% from it's launch onto the exchanges at roughly .6 cents per coin and now trading with major stability above 30k satoshi (roughly .25 cents).  That's marked growth that you can't ignore!

Then you also have the remarkable development behind this coin.  You have www.CapriPay.com, the mobile payments platform behind the coin that has VERSION 4 imminently launching that will make Capricoin the first cryptocurrency to be fully / instantly convertible to local fiat currency via a CapriPay wallet transaction.  This app is available free for your mobile phone on ITUNES and the GOOGLE PLAY store!  Try downloading the app and seeing what it's all about, you will be impressed.  It even already has a growing merchant network / micro economy within the app / network... this logic would all be pointing towards NOW is an amazing time to pick up Capricoin on the exchange, stop wasting your time FUDDING around and pick some up, you can even make your coins balance growth by participating in staking / transaction verification in a local Capricoin desktop wallet  Grin

You miss the point, if those 200 million premined coins were available in the supply today the price would be under 2000 satoshi, essentially this market can be easily manipulated because there is only 8 million coins and it's POS. Centralized distribution and all the power with the creators and POS holders.
