I've been investing a third, allowing myself to buy goods with another third, then keeping the last third locked away (as if in a savings account).

I keep the Clarkmoody tab open so I can see the price of bitcoin in the tab's title, so I get to see the price whenever I'm looking over my open tabs.

The point of having someone post five times before being let loose is to build trust. If you're a one-timer that just wants to post a link to your new spam-filled site, not having five newbie posts will help to prevent that spam. This system is to (hopefully) determine if you actually want to contribute to the community.
