1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Ethos with Miningpoolhub auto switch between ETH/ETC on: September 18, 2016, 06:26:29 AM
Does anyone know how to configure Ethos to mine in Miningpoolhub using port 17020 to switch mine between
ETH and ETC.  There will be 2 wallets involved so you really can't use wallet identification.
How to configure USERNAME.worker/password in ethos

I just want to know ,,,when there will be an ETC foundation and formal DEV teams with member ID?   This is the key of ETC future,,  can save the price

We have an active 12 person dev team  https://trello.com/etcdev/members

We have 100+ volunteers  https://github.com/ethereumproject/volunteer/tree/master/Keys

Over 500 on slack  https://ethereumclassic.slack.com/messages/development/

Im also having the same issue after entering my email address

And Charles Hoskinson at the helm

Support fom many miners like Chandler Guo

This is the peoples coin not a foundation

All this in a little more than a week

can I join in the slack ,,seems need somebodys invitation?

https://ethereumclassic.herokuapp.com/
when I  enter my  email adrress ,,,it  shows  :Failed! token_revoked  ,,, I think the invitation was used by others who saw this link first

Try again with a different e-mail address.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETC Criminal Coin in Terminal Decline on: August 09, 2016, 04:09:01 PM
If you are a miner shouldn't shouldn't you support ETC over ETH for mining sustainability reasons.
isn't there an upcoming difficulty bomb that would render mining in ETH unprofitable.
And if you didn't have loads of ether then you can't even stake when ETH goes to POS.
THE ETH GODS already decided that they are going to POS ASAP.
In ETC if the community decides to fork away from the difficulty bomb then miners can keep profiting from POW
even small miners like me with less than 500 MH of hash power

when can we start staking ?
Does anyone have instructions on how to setup wallet for staking?

You can start staking immediately but you need to wait for the minimum confirmations (3400) before your coins can start minting new BRK.

A lot of people apparently break the coins up into chunks of 101 so they can have a continuous cycle of coins staking. They do this by creating multiple addresses in their wallet and sending a chunk of coins to each address effectively separating them from each other.

for example I have 1010 BRX coins in my wallet I can create 10 addresses and tie each 101 coins to a specific address?
Will this lower my staking power by a tenth. Little confused sorry. I don't follow why we need to split the coins

You still have the same amount of coins so it doesn't change your stake weight. The idea is that splitting the coins up protects them from each other when a block is found. Since each chunk of coins is attached to a different wallet address and have different ages if one chunk finds a block and mints BRK only that chunk has its age return to zero leaving your other 9 chunks staking.

Got it now ... thanks for the good info

so looks like if the value of ETC actually goes up and holds up it will be profitable to mine.
Good way for us beginners to mine solo

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask this but. Just curious if ETC will also be going to POS like ETH.
Just wanting to know since I'm a new miner thinking on investing in GPU miners.

Is there a chance that ETC stays POW

Thanks
