3  Bitcoin / Legal / Can I really just sell huge amounts through Coinbase? on: February 15, 2018, 03:56:56 PM
Coinbase gives us a $100,000 limit PER WEEK

Can I REALLY just sell that much without causing any issues?

I know I have to pay (15%?) capital gains since I'm American, which I have no problem with.

So Coinbase just reports it to the IRS and then I fill out my capital gains 15% with TurboTax in April, and everything is OK?

I would hate for some random FBI thing to come in and freeze lots of my money or anything annoying like that, which I have heard about happening.

I will be contacting my bank and making sure everything is OK, as well as tax attorneys in my state and CPA's and try to make sure I'm doing everything right.

Are there any advisors or Crypto people with legal experience I can work with to make sure the Feds dont get mad?

I'm just a lucky one who got into Crypto early, no terrorist funding or money laundering here.

Please help with any advise.

ANY REALLY HELPFUL ADVISE WOULD BE GRANTED SOME CRYPTO AS WELL Smiley THANKS!
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is It advisable to quit my present job for bitcoin? on: November 24, 2017, 02:53:05 AM
Bitcoin trading these days has become so rucreative that I am tempted to quit my present job which is not giving me enough time to explore more out of bitcoin world...

What's your take on this, should I go ahead and quit?

Thanks

Hate to say it, but quitting to start trading is exactly like quitting your job to go play the casino all day
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are so many people against bitcoin? on: November 24, 2017, 02:51:26 AM
I'm trying to understand why are so many people against bitcoin?  is it the innovation that scares them? the feeling of staying behind? the fact that that money will go to the wrong hands?

People are afraid of change, and things they don't understand
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: OmiseGo on: November 12, 2017, 08:47:08 AM
Is this project only big because they somehow got Vitalik's face on it? Otherwise it seems to be a standard bank / crypto plan, and none of those have ever turned out well
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still support Ethereum? on: November 12, 2017, 08:34:23 AM
Haha ethereum has nowhere to go but sideways :O forever lol, is my guess honestly no future or potential for hodlers
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: will Bitcoin Gold (BTG) replace Bitcoin ? on: November 12, 2017, 08:33:04 AM
Wasn't bitcoin gold already cancelled though? Because Segwit isn't happening anymore? Wasn't that partly why everytime was flooding to bitcoin cash today?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What will happen if Bitcoin Gold (BTG) goes live? on: November 12, 2017, 08:31:20 AM
Wasn't bitcoin Gold just recently cancelled due to the Segwit fork cancel? I think it was. So now the only options are bitcoin or bitcoin cash
10  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC go back to 7k+? on: November 12, 2017, 08:27:42 AM
When in doubt, hodl Smiley

Something with as much infrastructure as bitcoin can't just die out completely, I reckon.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Under Attack Stay Strong on: November 12, 2017, 08:25:27 AM
Why is everyone against bitcoin cash? Is it only because you hold bitcoin?

Don't you think it's good to have bigger blocks and faster transactions? Makes bitcoin currencies more mainstream
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The word of the day Collusion on: November 12, 2017, 08:23:06 AM
This is a very good point. Centralized mining and inaccessibility is the biggest weakness of bitcoin and blockchain currencies.

That's why I'm almost all in on MaidSafe Smiley

Looks like I can't post direct images, but here are the images I've been making for MaidSafe every week!

Should make it very easy to see how they are progressing.

Look out for them every week! Just doing this to help, thanks.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / CoinFolio - Open Net Worth tracker I made on: November 11, 2017, 10:34:16 AM
Hey everyone,

I made a little open source tracker tool for Bitcoin / altcoin values. Hope you enjoy it!

Current version with latest features:
http://bit.do/coinfolio2

Legacy version here:
http://bit.do/coinfolio1

Source code for legacy version:
https://github.com/wgallo3/Coinfolio

Any comments or suggestions help! It should let you add in any altcoin, or even other asset classes such as cars or houses in the "custom entries" field so you can track your total net worth over time.

I wanted to see this for myself, but every current alternative service asks for so much data. So I wanted to just make an open source alternative, that asks for nothing at all Smiley not even addresses.

Enjoy! Another project by the SAFE-FS group Cheesy
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I was super cheap, think this transaction will ever confirm? on: October 19, 2017, 03:51:02 AM
How do you accelerate transactions? What doesn't that mean? Adding additional miner fee after it's  been sent?
19  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Wondering about Taxes and legal stuff in USA on: October 18, 2017, 07:16:52 PM
Many traders seem to sell that for cash instead, instead of trying to immediately deposit hundreds of thousands to a bank account. That is what I have seen others discuss, but am not sure if it has actually happened anywhere.
20  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Can bitcoin be frozen? on: October 18, 2017, 07:10:30 PM
in my opinion,,, I guess bitcoin would never frozen while the number of users and business people themselves who use them to transact,,, it's just possible that its use will indeed be set according to the rules in force in their respective countries

These are the questions that show how unstoppable Bitcoin is, and how it doesn't truly in any real way at all suffer any of the problems that the largest currencies of today do iu
