1  Other / Off-topic / Re: what email domain do you use on: August 04, 2016, 01:47:46 PM
a few days ago I found some interesting email domains like myself.com , cyberdude.com , usa.com , etc

so what is your email domain? and where do you create that account?

I use mail.ru It is pretty easy to set up and very secure compared to big names like google, etc.

That's a joke, mail.ru being secure, but it's not a very funny one.

3  Other / Off-topic / Re: browser or internet? just been running slow last 48 hours, no idea why? on: August 03, 2016, 05:21:30 PM
This is a late reply, the guy's internet isn't probably slow anymore, but just in case for all you geniuses out there: when you have a problem like the OP described, the easiest and most logical step is just to try using another browser. You do know there are many different browsers out there, right?

6  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can i get on the NSA watchlist on: August 03, 2016, 04:54:43 PM
NSA here NSA there but when do they show interesst in what i do??

Now im a pretty boring person and I dont do anything shady except of watching midget porn.

But what do I need to do for them to show interesst in me??
there are what 6 or 7 billion people on this Planet and they have a staff of 100k employees if that so who off them takes the time out to investigate me and for what??

I know that google has a watch list for specific words like cocaine or marijuana or kill the president, does the NSA have something like that too??

There are 1000's of DNM on there and most of them since years, so if the NSA is so good why cant they bring those markets down- or arent they even that good??

Maybe the whole fuckin NSA thing was just created to make us afraid and think twice about doing something shady and they dont even have the capabilities to do anyting.
I seriously doubt it those agencys know anything and im sure they cant do shit.

Cause the only thing we know about the fucking NSA is cause Edward snowden talked about them but i doubt this guy too.

So whats up NSA, come and find me bitches, i know where the Bernsteinzimmer is. but you need to hack my gmail account for that, can you even do that??

Don't worry, we're all on NSA watchlist. No big deal.

where can I get a cheap hosting plan with free domain name to build bit site

Lots of cheap hosting providers, many of them will get you a free domain when you pay for a year of hosting.

Or, you can use free hosting providers, there are several, google if needed.

As for standalone free domain names, that's tougher, I know only of freenom.com, they have 5 or 6 extensions you can register fro free.

P.S. A lot of providers accept btc nowadays, and so do domain registrars, namecheap.com is probably the most convenient one.

You can activate a popup, aswell as email notifications -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;sa=pmprefs
There's also always a little [X] mark with the number of new, unread PMs besides the my messages button, as long as you got some.

Oops, my bad, didn't see it there when I was looking through profile settings. Thanks! Wink

Thanks, this all makes sense to me now!

I assume there are no visible alerts when you receive a PM from someone, either? And the only way a user finds out about new PMs is when he clicks on My Messages tab or gets a notification in email?
14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need answers about notifications, PMs, tagging... on: July 20, 2016, 07:39:39 PM
Thanks, Lutpin.

You said:
It's the number of users you can send a single PM to.
For example, if you want to have a discussion with two other users, you would have 2 "PM recipients".
The maximum number prevents newbie accounts from writing spam/advertising PMs to 100s of other users in an attempt to circumvent their PM/Post time-limitations.

My Question:
So, if I understand correctly, this applies to a single PM being sent to many users at the same time, meaning if my llimit is 3 max PM recipients, I only send one PM to not more than 3 users simultaneously? But I can send PMs to as many users as I want, provided each single PM isn't being sent to more than 3? Or have I misunderstood you?

Thanks!
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Need answers about notifications, PMs, tagging... on: July 20, 2016, 07:21:06 PM
Hey everybody.

New to thsi forum, not new to bitcoin.

Trying to figure out how things work around here. If anybody can answer these question for me, I'd really appreciate it. I looked through whatever threads with rules an guidelines I could find, and I didn't see the answers to what I'm looking for. I also looked at all the profile settings and don't see anything there.

The main question is about notifications. Is there a way to see notifications about new posts in the topics you participated, or about any posts when someone quotes you, or tags you? Is tagging even practiced here (I haven't seen it yet in posts)? What I mean by notifications, of course, is not receiving countless emails, that's uselees, but a regular notification icon somewhere with a number of alerts (new replies, quotes, etc)? I just don't see it anywhere in the interface?

Another question. Is there a feature to "go to fist unread post" on a thread you already visited in the past? Starting with the first post page is annoying, especially if there are dozens of post pages on a thread? If this feature is available, please tell me where it's hidden, I'm just not seeing it anywhere.

On one post with rules and guidelines I saw a table with limits for each member level. The levels for PMs were really low, I think it said you can only have 3-5 "max PM recipients" when you are starting out, and even higher level members have very low restrictions. If I understand correctly, this means you can only send a PM to several people, and then you can't PM people anymore, am I right? If I am, can someone tell me possible reasons for this rule on the forum, is it because people don't PM each other at all and higher limits are not needed, or some other reason?

Thanks in advance for everybody who helps me figure this out.

Newbies probably ARE considered as fools. Because peple who've been on this forum for a while remember perfectly well what they didn't know when they were new here.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you convince people to use Bitcoin? on: July 20, 2016, 06:56:08 PM
If anonymity and privacy are important to them, there' s not much convicing needed, lol.
