1  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: OPAIR ICO=SCAM!! on: November 19, 2017, 01:59:56 PM
---- WHAT TO MAKE OF THIS? ----

From a news letter seemingly coming from OpenLedger.

XPO Gateway Now Open on OpenLedger DEX

Powered by its coin XPO, Opair is a cryptocurrency platform that utilizes proof-of-stake consensus protocol with an average blocktime of 60 seconds. The name “Opair” comes from the combination of words “open” and “fair”, referring to the fact that its code is open-source and that 100% of its tokens are distributed fairly, leaving no coins in the hands of developers.

The platform will feature:

    Colored Coins – colored coins are a method of tying real-life assets, like stocks, bonds and futures, to the Opair blockchain. Colored coins make it possible to transfer these assets onto the blockchain, with superior speed and lower cost, while eliminating third-parties;
    Smart contracts – automated, self-fulfilling contracts on the blockchain;
    Marketplace with decentralized reputations system – the Opair’s market allows users to buy and sell products and services. After purchases buyers can qualify the seller to increase trust and transparency;
    Private chains – companies and organizations can create their own private chains for their business;
    Alias system – instead of long addresses, Opair looks to incorporate shorter aliases;
    Decentralized debit cards – debit card payments with cryptocurrencies don’t require middlemen, thus reducing cost;
    Crowdfunding – start-ups can pitch their ideas and can receive funding for their projects.

The annoying silence seems to be over, sI guess MASS needed to re-group and adjust goals and priorities after a somewhat disappointing ICO.

MASS has just opened a new channel for project updates and communication. https://mass.userecho.com

Anyone got their coins yet? Will this project actually be active or have we lost our btc?
calm down...
they still have a few days for distribution. don't take these trolls seriously

It doesn't have anything to do with having to calm down. It's about complete lack of respect shown here by mass.network. It's the last time I ever back anything associated with Mycelium or Alexander Kuzmin who isn't even CEO unless they have two at mycelium - https://www.linkedin.com/in/catherine-harwood-38213925

The project has funding issues so they got desperate with the bonus.  What they should have done instead was ask for money from the elite to invest.  They way they will keep the grass roots support instead of making enemies.  You need people to create a network effect.  How many devs can you sustain with $235k and for how long?  It went from a good idea to a potential bonus bait-and-take.

What they should have done is communicate more from the very start and be more transparent. This funding round (for a great project) failed because of a serious lack of communication maybe arrogance or G*d forbid ignorance. It sure looks and feels like they do not have their shit together.

For those who have already invested, this final bonus is bigger too: any new amount invested on or after 25th of November is eligible for the bonus of 65%, not 55%.

I think this sentence is a source of confusion. Do you mean that the 65% bonus only concerns old investors that would want to invest more after the 25th or does it also concern new investors?

Yes, thats what it seems to mean, as an early stage ICO participant you'll get +65% for additional investments but keep in mind your earlier bonuses have been nullified by the 55% new investments bonus.

If mass disrespects shareholders now guess what they will do later.

If I am not mistaken this is pure thievery. Not only is a share taken away from early ICO participants some are now effectively paying the bonus for new investments!!

For every 1 BTC invested at 25% bonus (new bonus -15%) 0.15 BTC now goes directly to new investors.
For every 1 BTC invested at 10% bonus (new bonus -30%) 0.30 BTC now goes directly to new investors.

This is absolutely unheard off. @mass.network - Are you sure you are not making a few miscalculations and if you are not how can you push this through without some serious explaining and shame on your faces! I guess that large investment will be coming one of these last few days.. Is this the deal you had to make with Alexander Kuzmin?

Quote: "I, as Mycelium CEO, am also one of the people on the board of directors of Mass, and one of its treasurers. As per the press release, I plan to take over as CEO of Mass as well to help provide them with some guidance, and will make a major purchase later the year." If this is true (late investors are now rewarded better than folks who've had their btc invested for months) then I'm dumping this as soon as i get my coins. I don't believe successful ventures pull such desperate stunts.

It would not even be a stunt.. It would be pure theft (if true) of yet to be (if ever) released mass-assets. I can not find any logic behind this move. And seeing the YoBit clann in full force on this thread makes me feel even more weary about this investment.

The only solution I can see is if the bonus coins are taken from the devs or from the 30% that are continually distributed.
Yes this would ensure that there is no dilution for the early investors. The very early investors got involved with a bigger risk compared to others. I hope they will find a way to don´t mess the whole thing up.
It´s not really a bonus if everyone gets one either

It doesn't matter where it comes from. when you start giving 55% to new investors you push early investors into the negative. Bonuses would pretty much be erased with (b) and (c) even having to pay extra to participate early.. which is simply rediculous, who ever came up with this bright plan should be fired on the spot.

I've asked but so far no reply : So investors from period (a) go from 45% -> 5% (b) from 25% to -15% (c) from 10% to -30% compared to the new base at +55% for new investment? Only earliest investors trump it by that 5% and earlier investors who make additional investment.. 9%? Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.. which I hope I am.

Very curious what the explanation for this is going to be and where it went wrong in translation. And besides that it's crazy that no-one jumps in from the mass.network to put an end to this speculation!

Why is there a 55% bonus for late buyers?  As an early buyer of ICO I feel scammed.

they are saying they will explain.

I hope so. Otherwise this is just massive ignorance on mass network.  You don't screw over existing shareholders.  This is equivalent to massive dilution and unheard of.

This is what was meant. It's going to be on the website soon (pls accept our apologies we might have some delays during the weekend):

1) Let us express the apology for the confusion and explain the procedures.

2) If you are eligible for any of the previous bonuses, the amounts invested before upgrades according to the following +15% schedule:
(a) 25 August 2016 (00:00:00) - 15 September 2016 (11:59:59) PST  —  45% —> 60%
(b) 15 September 2016 (12:00:00) - 30 September 2016 (23:59:59) PST    25% — 40%
(c) 1 October 2016 (00:00:00) - 1 November 2016 (23:59:59) PST — 10% —> 25%

3) For those who have already invested, any new amount invested on or after 25 November 2016 (18:00:00) is eligible for the bonus of 65%, not 55%.

Still doesn't make sense to me.. (3) For those who have already invested during the bonus periods 25-08 / 01-11 get 65% on any additional investment regardless of previous commitment. NEW investors get no bonus?

they get 55% not 65%

Where are they saying they will explain? I see no blog posts, no notifications, no twitter messages, no facebook message, no reply to a reddit post about this and no response from support. Where is that hot-line were we can expect an explanation?

I stand corrected. ^^

FROM OPAIR SLACK

@opair : You and your team members are true masters at making things more difficult then they need to be.  I'm quite amazed by the unrealistic and stubborn stance you have  and have had throughout the ICO. I have to agree with SJ completely. If I were in his shoes and my escrow reputation depended on it I would not release one satoshi either.. If you are not able to produce the basics to satisfy the doubters with 35% (estimate) of the BTC already under your own controle the what are we talking about. Of course its up to Opair how to spend funds and choose a path forward.. but marketing and more developers right now? Investors have put faith and money in your project.. now its time for Frank and Hao to put some time and effort into making this project tangible upon which further assessment can be made. Both Frank and Hao have full time jobs as you have expressed over and over again so they are not starving. Show the world that all those who have been attacking you over the last few weeks are wrong.. instead of complaining, complaining, making excuses etc etc. Very boring and not very convincing when it comes to the teams own dedication to this project.

01) Release a "beta" wallet
02) Distribute XPO in accordance with the BTC you have access to and put the XPO related to escrow funds on hold until you actually get the funds since this has influence on the total distribution- if you don't receive the funds burn the XPO.
03) Show some action and code on github repository.
04) Launch a beta version.
05) Try to get XPO listed on one or more exchanges.
06) SJ releases X amount of funds

You should be able to realize this without any funds currently waiting in escrow. All you'd have to deal with are some delays.

+ Pay signature campaign bonuses from the funds you have and get it over with, consider voting on changing the purpose of the 9% XPO reserved for PoW and instead use it as a means to fund yourself if possible.
