1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pension funds bringing money to Bitcoin. on: March 08, 2019, 07:16:56 AM
It is really interesting that at last some pension funds have wet their feet in cryptocurrency investing. Someone is going to be very happy or very pissed off in the future. What do you think of this? It is really a breakthrough for crypto as an investment?
Source: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-02-12/first-u-s-pension-funds-take-the-plunge-on-crypto-investing

A lot of blockchain related start ups are going to be happy because a major percentage of these funds are going to be invested in those companies. Only a minor percentage will be invested in liquid cryptos. That makes complete sense because pension fund is a serious money and a lot of people are dependent on it. So investing completely in liquid crypto assets will be very risky. Rather it is somewhat safer to invest in the equities of blockchain companies.

Hope this investment effort will be an eye opener for a lot of market regulators who are still skeptical about cryptos.

I agree with that. It believe it is not yet the right time to invest all your pension funds to liquid crypto assets. A very risky and very volatile investments. People are depending on it. So handling this kind of money is no joke at all. But, setting a small percentage might do the trick.

This will be a very small percentage indeed. The equivalent of dipping a toe in the water to check the temperature.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Arctic Coin (ARC), No premine, Evolution over 1 year on: January 21, 2018, 11:02:57 AM
I'm having issues getting the masternode running on Windows 7. All the how-to's I can find focus on VPS. Does ARC require static IP for masternode?
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How Will BTC Faucets Deal With A $50,000 Bitcoin Price? on: December 03, 2017, 06:18:01 PM
As the USD price of Bitcoin increases, the rewards that popular Bitcoin faucets payout decreases accordingly. Sites that would pay 50-70 satoshi per claim last year are now paying between 15-20 satoshi per claim.

If the price of Bitcoin continues to climb to $50,000 USD, the value of 1 satoshi would conceivably be higher then these faucets could afford to pay out (per climb) compared to the ad income they generate.

Any thoughts on how will these faucets deal with payouts when 1 satoshi is worth too much?
5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Gunbot XT ARM - 269 Trades In 24hrs On Polo - Kraken No Trades Ever on: November 17, 2017, 05:41:15 AM
After using Gunbot 3.3 on Windows for a while and getting upwards of 60 trades a day, I switched to Gunbot XT for ARM and after some tweaking all week, I nailed it. 269 trades on November 16th! Pretty stoked.

Here is screenshots showing all the trades https://www.docdroid.net/9JhVO6O/2017-11-16.pdf

Also been using Gunbot 3.3/XT on Kraken over the last couple months and it's never made a trade, despite using the same setups that are working well on Polo. What can I do to trouble shoot the Kraken bot?

More fuel for the hype.
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predictions of where bitcoin will be by the the end of 2018 on: October 27, 2017, 02:30:02 AM
I think if Amazon rumors about accepting Bitcoin as a payment method prove true, that could be a temporary catalyst to drive prices upwards to $6500-7000 in the short term, with another pullback in the days and weeks following. $10k in 2018 might be realistic, barring major regulations that are not yet announced weighing down on the price.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There has been 667 forks from bitcoin (altcoins), 3 this month on: October 23, 2017, 07:42:29 AM
I'm looking at that website from a developer perspective and I have a headache lol... it is a neat visualization though.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about Bitcoin ATMs? on: October 23, 2017, 06:52:32 AM
For my purposes, a Bitcoin ATM is irrelevant. Major exchanges are all able to connect to my bank account, and even if they didn't, Bitcoin funded debit cards have lower fees and can withdraw in your local currency out of traditional ATM's. If you want your coffee shop in the news for a day, a Bitcoin ATM will probably do it.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Will Kill The Income Tax on: October 20, 2017, 09:16:57 AM
I could see the minority of people earning tax free income through bitcoin, but still paying income taxes through their jobs. As it becomes more prevalent, central governments will see trends of decreasing income and will begin to introduce additional tax policies which may not be income tax based, but will make the difference of lost income tax revenue and then some.

Two sure things in life are death and taxes... income tax might be avoided by some, but taxes will ALWAYS go up.
11  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think ? Bitcoin is going to hit big value soon like 7000$ and more ? on: October 20, 2017, 09:07:14 AM
Get ready for some nasty price crashes before we see $7000... As always, be patient and don't make panic decisions but hold on for the long term rebound.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buying Tether USDT when everything go down... what do you think? on: September 15, 2017, 05:54:05 AM
Regardless of the markets overall, there has still been some opportunity to trade profitably on the exchanges. Not nearly as much activity as I like, but still making headway. In for the long haul, I don't flinch at headlines anymore.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Web browser mining on: September 15, 2017, 05:28:09 AM
The "browser mining" would still have to use system resources that would be used for "normal mining". What's to stop them from using your system hashpower to mine useful coins in the background and paying you a few meaningless tokens that can't be exchanged or spent anywhere, but hey it has a pretty dashboard!
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if all coins disappear?? on: September 15, 2017, 05:05:33 AM
I can't contemplate a scenario where all coins in the world just "disappear"...

However, it really isn't that far fetched to imagine a scenario where at least part of the world will not have electricity to power computers or networks (North Korea EMP threat for one).

Although not a full on disappearance of all one's coins, it would essentially render them useless and out of reach as long as an electrical interruption continued.

We will also likely see more large scale breaches as time goes on and attackers find more innovative ways to access systems that were previously impervious to them. We've seen major exchanges and cloud mining companies compromised, if you were a victim of those situations, your coins disappeared.
15  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-06-29] Revealing Your Digital Currency Holdings Online Is a Horrible Idea on: June 30, 2017, 06:10:48 AM
Wow, he posted his API key in YouTube videos...
16  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do you think guys Poloniex will be the next MT.Gox? on: June 28, 2017, 04:04:38 AM
The only complaints I have seen about not being able to withdraw from Polo are usually issues with the coin (wallet/network/dev team), not with the exchange. I haven't had issues withdrawing BTC at all over the last couple years.

Yes the trollbox is gone, but that was to ramp up the support team, which customers had been asking for since ticket response times started suffering.
