@seuntjie Thank you, very informative!

According to bitsler this is their dice game's rng method. I don't see anything relating to the time, so that answers my question.

'luckyNumber' is the roll, and is between [0 - 99.999]. This version seems to be PHP.

Code:
$seed = $serverSeed.'-'.$clientSeed.'-'.$nonce;
do {
     $seed = sha1($seed);
     $lucky = hexdec(substr($seed,0,8));
} while ($lucky > 4294960000);

$luckyNumber = ($lucky % 10000) / 100;

if ($luckyNumber < 0)
     $luckyNumber = -$luckyNumber;

echo $luckyNumber;

I'm using bitsler if that helps.

@jackg thanks for the info

I'm curious about something. On provably fair sites (particularly bitsler), does the time since the last bet effect the roll?

I'm thinking about using the manual betting option to compensate when the balance dries up. I.e. deposit more and then manually continue the betting sequence (my pattern increases bet on loss). But this might happen a few hours after the bot stopped, which is why I ask.

@Seuntjies, can I connect to this bot through tor? /Do I just use https://127.0.0.1:9050 with tor open in the background or is this not possible?

Tor's 9050 port is just a SOCKS5 proxy. If the bot supports SOCKS5, then it does. However, connection reliability is less on tor than on the normal internet.

Don't judge them unfairly, they were getting DDOSed, as they said. Websites of even large companies have been known to be brought down by such things.

This will show the current status of Bitsler services and is updated every 5 minutes. For a more detailed status page, you can also visit https://status.btslr.co

Good stuff. Btw, the website seems to be working at the moment, but it shows as down in the status page.

Hi, can someone help? I'm having trouble starting mining.

I've associated (i think) my wallet with BOINC (ran exec associate user pass), 'exec getboincinfo' shows the same cpid as on the boinc site. I'm staking 2700 BBP, and my RAC is 46. The address i'm mining to is 'BKPfggkek4C5x7NDifRjfxTJJXLU5sZJgD'. However, my mining pool (purepool) doesn't show my stats (404 error) and my magnitude is still 0.

I had to set up a lot of stuff, i'm not sure which part might not be working.

P.S. some people say that you need to make your machines public in BOINC. I'm not sure how, but I can view the url for my computer without being logged in. I guess that means it's public?

9  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Indacoin - buy bitcoins & litecoins with a credit card from all over the world on: September 11, 2016, 11:53:42 AM
Tried this today.

...

I'm all for security, but is it really necessary to ask us to videotape ourselves? Sad First they had me receive a phone call. Okay, fine. But after they wanted me to get a tiny number from my credit card statement, I thought "that has to be it." And then I found otherwise.

I think i'll pass.

So it doesn't have a historical ledger? I'd be curious how it prevents double spending.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can bitcoind be used with third party wallet? on: September 08, 2016, 09:54:24 AM
So the raw transaction API has to reference the local wallet? You can't just put arbitrary data in that and expect it to work? I'm thinking of a hypothetical third party wallet that keeps track of it's own bitcoin keys, and then tells the bitcoind server to broadcast a raw transaction involving them.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Can bitcoind be used with third party wallet? on: September 07, 2016, 10:00:44 PM
The 'raw transaction' RPCs look interesting for that

Code:
== Rawtransactions ==
createrawtransaction [{"txid":"id","vout":n},...] {"address":amount,"data":"hex",...} ( locktime )
decoderawtransaction "hexstring"
decodescript "hex"
fundrawtransaction "hexstring" includeWatching
getrawtransaction "txid" ( verbose )
sendrawtransaction "hexstring" ( allowhighfees )
signrawtransaction "hexstring" ( [{"txid":"id","vout":n,"scriptPubKey":"hex","redeemScript":"hex"},...] ["privatekey1",...] sighashtype )
