1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 17, 2013, 10:21:59 PM
Have they shipped anything yet? Is this still a project development donation thread like it was from day one?

what are you talking about?

They seemed to be a replica of BFL when they started this thread. Their original shipping dates were in July, I think.

who, knc? you need to check your facts sir

Yeah, they had a really early shipping date as far as I remember. Is anyone going to tell me if they have shipped?

no, if you cared to visit the website or do any reading, you would realize they havent yet.

Thanks for your eventual help, tosser.

6  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] 80 chips from zefir's group buy on: August 17, 2013, 07:57:55 PM
I have been graciously offered a refund. This is the easiest way out of my obligation to build a mining machine.

I am cancelling the auction and locking the topic. Sorry for any disappointment.
7  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] 80 chips from zefir's group buy on: August 17, 2013, 04:37:32 PM
It would be nice to know for sure what batch your order is in.. You are Batch #3 I believe.

I have confirmed that they are from batch three.
8  Economy / Auctions / [AUCTION] 80 chips from zefir's group buy on: August 17, 2013, 07:19:22 AM
Hi,

As per the title

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177827.msg1886621#msg1886621

My starting bid is what I paid for them, which is BTC6.88. I'd expect whoever bought them from me to cover the fiat fees involved (shipping etc) which are detailed in full on the first post of the above thread. Zefir has a deal with burnin to ship orders in bulk, so you could probably get them to him cheaply, get them burned, then get minng! Also, I'm not sure which batch they're from, but I think it's batch 3 and it should be listed somewhere in the thread.

As far as escrow goes, this is my first auction and I don't really know the process, it's too early on a Saturday morning for me to want to check just yet, but I'm sure we can come up with a reasonable arrangement ITT.

Auction ends 8 AM GMT on Monday!
9  Economy / Auctions / Re: The 4th REVERSE AUCTION for 2500 Avalon chips from zefir's group buy on: July 05, 2013, 12:12:26 AM
The auction closed.

Will there be an auction 5?
10  Economy / Auctions / Re: The 4th REVERSE AUCTION for 2500 Avalon chips from zefir's group buy on: June 30, 2013, 05:14:57 PM
Is it possible to bid higher than the start price?
11  Economy / Auctions / Re: The 3rd REVERSE AUCTION for 2500 Avalon chips from zefir's group buy on: June 30, 2013, 09:53:13 AM
Are you covering customs VAT from zefir?

I am also wondering this.

My understanding was that asicme was covering all expenses, but we need confirmation.

Yes, we cover those fees.

When is the next auction?

13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? on: June 02, 2013, 09:39:07 PM
For anyone imagining satoshi is one person, here's a hit to point out the obvious.

Read the 2008 paper, the author uses the term 'we' throughout.
This is either a verbal peculiarity inconsistent with the display of intelligent writing on offer in the rest of the paper, or... I think you get the idea.

Anyway, I know the source. It's not very exciting knowledge. My guess is that they drafted this paper with half a mind to use their real names but settled in the end on the mysterious pseudonym- good call on their part. Satoshi will remain in the shadows, because he's the hero that bitcoin deserves, but not the one it needs right now... and so we'll hunt him... because he can take it... because he's not a hero... he's a silent guardian, a watchful protector... a Dark Knight...
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dear Bear, So is this a slow bounce up, then a slow drop back to $100 or less on: May 26, 2013, 11:45:53 PM
People were making fun of the bears right until the end of the last huge bubble.
The truth is nobody knows, so don't get cocky because it might backfire.
15  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: May 26, 2013, 09:54:55 PM
Burnin

I'm glad to hear this project is coming along excellently, impressive work!

One vague question if you don't mind it, not urgent: how much noise might this type of (20 chip) unit make when it is running constantly at room temperature?

All the best

16  Economy / Economics / Re: Billionaires hate Bitcoin. on: May 25, 2013, 03:42:26 PM
Bitcoin isn't a viable replacement for fiat currency, not even close- not even any time soon.
Not only that but the value is pretty unstable, and people don't get to be billionaires without knowing much better places to invest their money.

I suggest you all stop smoking weed and pick up a book. The dollar isn't going anywhere in a hurry.
18  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin a risky investment? on: May 25, 2013, 03:38:12 PM
Of course. Whilst the currency is here to stay, the value could collapse tomorrow. Imagine if the U.S. government decided to make it illegal, for example.
