The upgrade to AuxPow is completed. AuxPow is active from block height 4574574, which occurred at about 14:32 on 11 January 2023.All versions v2.2 and below will NOT connect to the main network, currently only v2.3 is supported.If you are still running an older version, please upgrade to v2.3 - this only involves replacing the binary. Blockchain files, wallet and others are all compatible. All files here: https://github.com/nyancoin-official/nyancoin-client/releasesFor v1.x upgrading is still possible, however this will involve reindexing the blockchain files. This will happen automatically but is likely to take several hours. Note that mining against a version v2.2 and older will create an unsupported fork, and anything on that fork will not exist on the main chain. Currently all major mining pools are on v2.3 other than gigahash.net and pool.scrypt.ovh/nyan/public/ - if you are using those please move to another pool. Nyancoin Core v2.3 now available (28 December 2022)
v2.3 will disconnect earlier versions to ensure proper compatibility with AuxPow. It is therefore essential that you upgrade to v2.3 as soon as possible.
Wallet and blockchain files are compatible, no other changes are required other than replacing nyancoind or nyancoin-qt

Due to some incompatibility with one or more blocks created on or after 12 July 2022, v1.x versions are apparently incompatible and will fail with EXCEPTION: 11DbException
Db::put: Cannot allocate memoryThe exact cause of the problem is not known, but it's something which has been reported with other blockchains where very old versions are used. The fix for this is to upgrade to v2.0 At the time of the failure, there were only three known peers on the whole network using v1.x, and one of those has been upgraded to v2.0 which leaves only two of them. |

This coin only have 5 pages of posts since launch in 2017, so why is it very hot  There were previous threads that were not in anyone's control anymore, that were still advertising Cryptsy as an exchange, so we started a new thread. |

As an example we could compare to Monero (to pick another privacy style coin),
Monero's marketcap based on all 18 million coins would be around $90m
Zcoins marketcap based on all 21M coins would be around $50M.
But XZC is a new untested coin with loads of coins being issued each day it appears and dumped.
A couple of days a ago there was 264,000 coins. Todays there is 285,000 coins
Yea, you have to expect inflation is going to bring the price way down, since it currently has zero use cases. At least Monero has xmr.to, some dnm usage, and some gambling sites and stuff. Zcoin (or zcash for that matter) has...trollbox speculation. |

Relaunch with 10% mining tax rather than 10% premine? That seems to be more palatable lately. Or maybe just run an ICO with coin swap, a la NXT/Ardor, or the four hundred different jl777 projects that all have ICOs.

You may be not right. ZEC users are seeking anonymity, both XDN and FCN can give it. ZEC can be complex and slow (slow anonymous tx sending). Zcash has some very weak points. Eventually, users will compare Cryptonote coins like XDN, XMR and FCN with zec and CryptoNote may be much better for them. We are long term, FCN gives a great chance for people in a mining business. so its all about who is selling better ,,ZEC is all hype I'm not touching ZEC - the price and market cap are dropping already despite the hype - and the coin has no operational history and some flaws - IMO cryptonote is a much safer and proven investment. People are just jumping on the bandwagon (a lot without even researching the coin) to hopefully make a quick buck. people will come back to cryptonote ,just a matter of time and buzz Indeed, the thing that is surprising me the most in this round of BTC hike and cryptonote is BCN, it hasn't dropped price at all - despite it being the higher risk coin as the block chain will soon be fully mined - don't understand that. SMA of market cap is slowly increasing there too. Volume is low and presumably the market is completely controlled by the devs that premined 85%. |
