Can someone tell me if buying a HD 7990 for mining is worth it? And what is the hashrate?

I can buy one for 250€.

FML.... Sad

I set these variables:

GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

With the command "setx" instead of "set" and now I can't mine... I already reinstalled my drivers but it is the same... How can I reset to the default values?

The error: GPU 0, GpuMiner kx(2) failed -36

HELP PLEASE, thanks  Undecided

Well, I am tunning my miner and when I set the variables:

setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

And then the miner keep crashing.

Error: GPU 0, GpuMiner kx(2) failed -36

GPU 0: R9 380X 4GB
GPU 1: R9 270 2GB

Thank you for this miner!!

Can someone tell me if my values are normal?

I'm using 2 GPU's (GPU 0: R9 380X 4GB, GPU 1: R9 270 2GB), my CPU is a FX 6300 stock mining with 4 threads, using ~80%. I'm using -i 2 for both cards. My MB is a 970A-SLI-Krait-Edition.

My values are:

GPU 0 (380X): 44 H/s
GPU 1 (270): 41 H/s

My 280x GPU is seeing between 65-70+ sol/s with the claymore's 4.0 AMD miner on stock clock/memory and -i 0

Wich OS are you using? And driver version? I'm currently on Windows 10 64 Bits, Crimson 16.9.2. 380X is stock, 270 is with slight overclock.

Hi! I'm new to this world but I have one question. Why do I have almost half of the hashrate on your most recent version (07-09-14) than I have on the old one (05-30-2014)? I have a FX 8350 @ 4.6 GHz and on your old miner I was getting 200-250 H/s. Now I'm mining at 100-140 H/s. Is this normal?

Both running with the same startup programs:

minerd -a cryptonight -o stratum+tcp://monerohash.com:3333 -u ADDRESS -p x

Can I still use your old one to mine?

Thanks for the replies.

@antantti

Our plan is to invest on a HD 7990 or 2x R9 280X in the future. Or is other good options for mining? Will the Celeron and that motherboard will able to run smooth with 4 GPU's mining? We will buy those adapters PCI 1X to PCI-E 16X on Ebay. And I guess I will try both Windows and Linux and see what are the advantages and disadvantages of both systems.

@niksdt101 @Gohs

Well, winter is starting here in Portugal. We will have room temperature for about 16-17 ºC MAX everyday. But we will buy 4 FANs for 10$ to be sure everything runs cool.

Hello guys. I'm new in this cryptocurrency world. Me and some friends (4) are willing to invest on some used hardware to mine monero.

Our rig will be something like this: (we will buy everything besides the 2 GPU's)

CPU: Intel Celeron G550 2.6GHz (20$)
MB: Asus P8H61 M LX (35$)
RAM: 2GB GSkill 1600MHz DDR3 (15$)
GPU 1x R9 270X, 1x R9 270 (0$)

Likely hashrate: 1000H/s

TOTAL: 70$

My friend has some old PSU's that we will be using.

Is this old hardware good for mining? Will there be any bottlenecks?
Note that we will focus 99% on GPU mining. We plan to add more GPU's in the future with the money made mining.

We don't have to worry about electricity. Our goal is to achieve +30$ per month for each. The computer will run 24/7.

And, is it better to mine on Windows or Linux?

The most important question, is this worth it?

Thanks.
