"partner" up with a few other businesses in your local area and use Bitcoin as your "local currency" and don't exchange it outside of it. It'd be an honor system, but after so many businesses accept it, it should still improve your corner of the world, financially, and therefore allow you more of an opportunity to work and make the bitcoin back from others you have paid with it.

The only thing making Bitcoin worth something is the BELIEF that it can always be traded or transacted to get whatever other thing you want.

I'd think if you started a local exchange, there'd be no competition so you could be selling them at a higher exchange rate and then invest further into Bitcoin by the profits being turned back into MORE Bitcoin reserves?

3  Economy / Economics / Re: How to teach kids about Bitcoin? on: October 20, 2016, 03:32:34 AM
Plan to pay my children with it for chores and other things they volunteer to do, but deserved to be paid for. Hopefully they will use it as a substitute for the dollars that are harder to come by since dear old dad is supplying dimes on dimes on dimes for chores and other things.

I don't know. I think Bitcoin is going to explode when the children of today turn into the young adults of tomorrow and can unleash the full power of the currency they have been given, legally and start forming companies around it and everything. I'd love to be part of that new paradigm and hope to keep up-to-date enough with crypto to give my kids an advantage in the area over all the other people within 100 miles of us. Blockchain technology is the future. Bitcoin isn't going anywhere, ever. It's been audited and attacked 24/7 for over 7 years now... it's a tank.
