1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.4 Released MANDATORY UPDATE on: January 21, 2014, 04:28:59 PM
This is such a wonderful community, I'm more active over at /r/dogecoin then here but it's amazing what this community has done and how many new people have become interested in crypto currencies because of dogecoin! With the recent rise in price and the block reward halving coming along I decided to make a small website to keep track of when the halving will occur.

http://blockrewards.com/ I'd love any feedback from you guys!

In all seriousness though probably name them after animals or planets.
4  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sending bitcoins before the wallet is in Sync on: July 01, 2013, 06:50:27 AM
It is ok to send while out of sync, if you right click on the transaction and select 'show transaction details', if it has been sent ok it will have been broadcast to the network through 'x' amount of nodes.

You will get confirms when the client catches up downloading the blockchain.

Thank you for your help; the transaction has gone through fine :-) but the client still has no confirms thank you for clearing this up....

Is there a better client to use for windows/iPhone? I really can't wait for the sync all the time and would be happy to put my money into a slightly less secure wallet just so it's faster. Obviously I wouldn't risk a silly amount of bitcoin.

stop asking questions

Huh I'm sorry, I'm new at all this... Is this section inappropriate?

Anyway, thanks guys! You've been a big help! I really love bitcoin it's so much better then PayPal. Very few fee's and no chance of being band or loosing al your money because of  PayPal, Love it.
5  Other / Beginners & Help / Sending bitcoins before the wallet is in Sync on: June 30, 2013, 05:44:00 PM
Ok, so I've let my wallet fall way out of Sync with the network, I need to send some bitcoins. Am I able to send them without my wallet synchronizing?

I'm using the default wallet qt client. I've sent the coins but they don't seem to be getting confirmed is this because the wallet is out of sync or just because bitcoin's are slow?

Thanks guys.

Guy's I'm confused...  Huh

I'm currently hashing away and have been doing so for around 3 days now but I haven't gotten any Feathercoins into my account balance. Also my unpaid shares and paid shares are both at zero...

my username is Lachy.

Can anyone help? Thank you.

Sorry for the delay in response.

Problem is fixed. Your shares sent were counted and paid.

Huh I don't think so... The account balance still says zero - and I hadn't until 5 minutes ago had a wallet attached to my account. Can you please look into this further? I'd really like me some feathercoins.

Thanks guys Smiley
9  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER ASIC FPGA GPU overc monit fanspd RPC linux/win/osx/mip/r-pi 3.1.1 on: May 26, 2013, 06:49:26 PM
updating to 3.1.1 got me a 5 mhash/s on my 7970 Cheesy!
is there a 3.1.1. for windows too? I can't find to download it.

http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer

if the sites down (it was for me a minute ago) just keep checking.

does anyone have a mirror/copy of http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/3.1/cgminer-3.1.0-x86_64-built.tar.bz2 or the latest? .

The website has been down for a while now and I'm trying to setup a new miner! I'm really excited to get this one going Smiley but the website being down has put a bit of a spanner in the works

Seems its back up if only I was a second more patient.
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What Mining Client should a Newbie start with? on: April 21, 2013, 04:44:09 AM
I'm currently using GUIMiner with two 7950's... On Windows 8 however I'm not getting the hash rate I expected so today I'm doing a refresh and taking a hard look at what I'm using exactly.

However I found GUIMiner SUPER simple. Nothing hard to think about really even has preset settings for most of the popular cards.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What happens to all the lost bitcoins on: April 21, 2013, 04:41:55 AM
'lost' coins should stay lost.

it's impossible to tell if a coin just hasn't been used in a while or if it's been lost. Just make sure you have at least 3 or 4 back up's of your wallet. Right now I have 3 and one of those isn't at my house.

Of Course with any backup you'll need to encrypt that as well and make sure you have a backup of the encryption or remember the phrase REALLY well.

Does anyone know how to get AUD out of btc-e? or of any good Australian Exchange that supports litecoins?
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cheated by BC-Casino and Mt.Gox on: April 21, 2013, 04:21:49 AM
Damn mtGox.

I really hope you don't leave forever, consider reading a bit more and reinvesting an amount you feel comfortable with; the bitcoin network is reliable so I'd ask mtGox a few more questions.
14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: this forum sucks on: April 21, 2013, 04:13:05 AM
a couple weeks ago i was logged on to this forum for like 10 hours straight reading stuff on other forums.  so how do i accumulate the 4 hour forum time so i can post on the other sections of forum?

Just make sure you stay logged in. My understanding is that you need 4 hours and 5 posts. The total time you've been logged in should be displayed in the upper left corner of the screen.

Hope that helps.
