1  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: September 17, 2013, 05:03:04 PM
USD still VERY problematic (CITIBANk customers)... I have been trying to withdraw since June, I had to issue several withdrawals due to limits - at first they were cancelled in June (By MtGox) due to the problems with Citibank in the US. Reissued the withdrawals order, which once again MtGox cancelled after a month because they said they had too many request to process and did not make sense for me to have so many >> they cancelled all requests and upped my limit so that I only had one large withdrawal... fast forward 2 months later they have now cancelled my request from 8/8 claiming that they will no longer process withdrawal request to Citi accounts.

>>> their proposed solution >>> that I open an account in a different bank with no guarantee for the withdrawal to be processed anytime soon.... I now believe that the amount will just be stuck there indefinitely and have very little chance of ever seeing it back (which I kinda of assumed before but still had some hope).

My only option left is to use the fiat, buy Bitcoin and transfer it so my wallet (done)

>>>> in the end they win as they make commission on my Bitcoin purchase and I no longer have fiat on the account / sneaky but this is where the cash for you other guy comes from basically....

2  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox wires ARE delayed on: June 26, 2013, 01:27:44 PM
Had 2 of my 4 wires returned to MtGox today, minus about $70 per wire due to fees.

Called Citibank and asked for a trace on the wire and reason for refusal (as I have wired from MtGox to this account before I know for a fact all info is correct). Citi could not find any trace of the wires coming in and/or being refused, they also directed me to Mt Gox and Mizuho to find out reasons for return.

Contact MtGox several times, they always answered me within 24h but after one week and several emails they still refuse to show me the proof of the wires from Mizuho and keep telling me all wires were executed and refused by Citibank.

I am annoyed at the fact that I am losing $70 on 5 separate wires ($350) for a problem originating from MtGox - I understand paying fees if I had entered the information incorrectly but paying them because of MtGox internal problems with their banks or authorities is not acceptable, they should cover those fees IMHO.

3  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox wires NOT delayed on: June 19, 2013, 03:24:15 PM
Spoke (via email) to MtGox regarding my wire transfers since June 1 - they claim they are having problem with wire to USA (Citi) and cancelled the ones that were not processed... now I cannot use Dwolla nor Wire and am basically stuck with money in MtGox with no way of withdrawing it.

4 of my wire since June 3 are still processed on their side and they "cannot do anything" but wait, it has been 16 days since the first wire. Wires done earlier this year usually completed in less than 5 business days.

There is definitely a problem there, I asked MtGox to send me copy of the wire confirmation from their bank, they answered all other questions but keep eluding this one. Looks to me like they are stalling on my withdrawals, this is not very encouraging nor reassuring that I have a large sum with them and no wayof getting it back. Their support does "answer" email but does not seem to be doing much about it expect to ask me to be patient.
4  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox wires NOT delayed on: June 18, 2013, 04:19:06 PM
I have made 5 wires request since June 3rd and nothing has showed on my account - contact MtGox who claim they were processed 10 days ago....
5  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Cryonics Frosbit claiming 1000Gh/s - $15K?? on: May 24, 2013, 01:37:23 PM
I had an email exchange with the editor from Techcrunch and pointed at the obvious errors and high likeness of the company being a scam last night - he replied that they would check into it, guess they decided that it was better to remove the article rather than add a correction... Still feel like they should have left the article up with an additional notice on recent state of Bitcoin miner markets and scams, I feel that it would serve the public better to be aware of the elaborate scams going around rather than just ignore the subject.
6  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Cryonics Frosbit claiming 1000Gh/s - $15K?? on: May 24, 2013, 02:38:20 AM
What pains me is that being featured on Techcrunch could actually convince a gullible person that this is possibly legitimate. Techcrunch is usually a good source of news for startup investors and tech in general.

I would hate to see one person wiring $15.000 on the account that Techcrunch is usually a reputable source.

As for the miner and company, I am in agreement with many of you here, too many inconsistencies on the site (updates could allow for LTC mining ?!?!?) and mumbo jumbo that is more confusing than instructive.

To put that in perspective a strong PC with good graphics card can hit about 100 GH/S and in my experience I haven’t been able to get any my machines to hit higher than 50 GH/S."

Say what?

Yup, looks like the Techcrunch writer does not even know what he is talking about.... Or he needs to tell me what GPU gets 100Ghash!

12  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 03, 2013, 03:52:36 PM
Well you guys are lucky because my emails asking for information and guarantees regarding orders have remained unanswered (asked them to confirm ship date, use of escrow, etc)... So it's a no go for me at this time, a legit company usually has no problem answering the questions I sent. I do import/export in my everyday job and deal with this type of purchases, all the companies I have worked for that did not simply and timely answer question such as the one I sent ended up being trouble (no deliveries, late deliveries, defective goods...) - thankfully in my business I deal with companies that are easily identifiable and recoup losses 99%of the time.... which would not be the case here.
13  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Fast-Hash-400's 400 GH/s each on: May 02, 2013, 03:02:57 AM
Be careful what you are asking.....

Easy math ( not exact, just easy): $15,000 = 150 btc. 400 gh/s = 15 btc / day. Break even = 10 days.

I'll take 10 please.

Ask me when 400 gh/s = 1.5 btc and I'll take zero.

I'll second that - if you can deliver 400ghash now (as stated in your edited original post) I'll take one unit. Deliver next month and I am less interested, deliver in July or August and I'd probably get better $/hash from dyi asics or maybe/possibly BFL in stock items...

14  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Fast-Hash-400's 400 GH/s each on: May 02, 2013, 12:36:42 AM
At $30K I can't even buy half a unit... curious to see your prices for smaller units listed on your site tough.

16  Economy / Services / Re: Hashrack.com - Hashpacks the easy way to mine bitcoins! from 0.5Gh/s to 50Gh/s on: April 27, 2013, 01:13:26 PM
Concept is interesting but if you use BFL for your systems can you please clarify a few things:

- if I decided to order a virtual worker then you would place an order with BFL or do you already have pre-orders in ? - you mention in your post having pre-orders but your FAQ says that you place the order only after I place mine >> therefore we could be looking at a 4 months wait between an order placed and the setup of my account with you.

- If you plan on deploying BFL how come your asking price is slightly below what BFL asks for equivalent Ghash Asic?

- Not sure i understand what the little "sun symbol" and percentage is referring to on your hashrack page : 5000 Mhash > 9% - what does the 9% stands for?

>> my 2 cents for now :
- I like the concept (it is basically a hosted solution mixed with a pool - joining the power of my local miners and hosted ones)
- Website looks professional enough despite the few grammatical errors and not working properly on mobile browser (ipad)

- I think what makes most people hesitant, including myself, is that the current total hashrate of the pool is less than one of my GPU rig... A pool is only worth joining once you have enough subscriber, throwing some of your own rigs in there for a start in order to increase hashrate could reassure people that they are not going to mine for weeks/month without any revenue (which is the case now).

Regarding the pool... as I said before, throw some of you own power in there to attract people, nobody is going or sign up for a pool at 800Mhash and I doubt the early adopters are going to stick around too long unless another 1000 people sign up within the next week or so.

I wish you good luck with this but until the BFL are on hands I'll pass, I can understand a few days to a couple weeks wait to have something setup but in current market not going to throw BTC and possibly have to wait 4 months or more until setup.

Will keep an eye on this for now .

>>> EDIT >>>
After posting this I found that you originally opened the pool in February! Still less than 1000Mhash after 3 months - where do you mine Pkarc?
17  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Moving USD between mtgox and btc-e? on: April 22, 2013, 08:24:45 PM
have you found a way to transfer USD from MtGox to BTC-e? Still looking for one myself.
18  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: April 18, 2013, 07:25:16 PM
Interested but before I spend 35 BTC on chips only, is your service 100% guaranteed to happen or 90%... or less? What happens if Avalon releases info that make your plans change and price rise (or lower)?

Not trying to shoot you down, I am really interested, but being completely incapable myself of doing PCB or building these, I am not willing to spend 35 BTC on chips if something happens making this project not viable and me ending sitting on 400 useless chips.

19  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Halfsize Avalon "proposed" in latest update -- 45Gh/s on: April 18, 2013, 04:09:55 PM
to shred some light, the model is already made, as we have many prototypes and designs in house, it was a matter of if there's enough demand to warrant a batch.

If not, it'll just get made in a later timeline, for next generation for example.

We're ready for release Smiley Missed the boat on 3 previous batch and could not get in because each time I get the notification too late, hopefully not this time!
20  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 60Gh/s BFL ASIC miner $2300 [new price] on: April 17, 2013, 04:12:55 PM
I'll take it for the $2300 + shipping if you accept to receive payment only once the unit is confirmed shipping from BFL to you and use of Escrow or Paypal for payment.
