I have been using the original thread from jgarzik (url: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=158105.0) to setup eloiopool.  I have successfully mined on testnet3 using bitcoind + eloipool.  But i cannot seem to get stratum to come to life. 

The included eloipool config.py file and instructions at the link below make no mention of edits or changes to enable stratum.

Anyone know if there is more needed to bring stratum to life and visible to the mining software?  I'm using cgminer to connect and test.

Anyone have a eloipool config.py sample file they can post?

I'm fairly certain that I have missed something along the way here. 

BTW:  Many thanks to jgarzik.  The howto has been great.  One last challenge to conquer here.
