Satoshi has long abandoned Bitcoin and has already "moved on to other things".
What Would be the rational reason for Satoshi not to be interested in Bitcoin today?

Is it possible to configure Armory so that wallet files would be re-created on a separate disk?
I actually want to have wallet files re-created on a TrueCrupt virtual disk and nothing is ever written on the disk on the PC running the off-line Armory.

You can't stop arbitrary data from being added to the blockchain. It's an age-old debate almost as old as bitcoin itself. What the devs can do is close the hole that allows for superlong taproot scripts in witness data. this one could be monkeys vs no monkeys.
All pre-existing monkeys get grandfathered in to any sort of new fork unless you're including some kind of rollback to the pre-Taproot Wizards days, which makes things super complicated and let's face it, isn't gonna happen. I understand this. But bitcoin has exposed a weakness which can stop blockchain. And if it can happen, it will for sure.

LOL. I told you that in Montenegro they will replenish the country's budget at the expense of Do Kwon's money. What do you think, what was the amount of the bribe to achieve such a "fair" court decision? What will happen next? He will look for a more loyal country that will not extradite him and run away from Montenegro.
You don't know how this works. Bitcoins will not go to state budget but directly to wallets of state officials.

This episode was just a test run for the real thing: how to stop Bitcoin.
Here is howto do it if you have 200K bitcoins and you are willing to burn them all just to stop bitcoin:
Divide available 200K into two amounts - 95% for fees and 5% to send over network Set fee per transaction 50$ Attach 1 GB file to each tx
Number of transactions = 190K*Present_Price/Fee_per_transaction
190000*26700/50 = approx 100 million of transactions Value per transaction 10K sats
Blockchain size will grow to = 1TB + 100.000.000 GB = 100.000 TB! Try to run BitcoinCore node at home? Impossible.
Blockchain will simply stop.
UTUXo and mempool databases will be also enormous in size.
If you want to run a full node you need a Cray supercomputer at home.
So if somebody has 200K bitcoins and hates bitcoin very much this attack is very feasible.
How to fix it?
i do not know.
In fact I think it is inevitable and that is coming soon - it will be somehow connected with the next elections in US.

Is 97.0 available for download in Windows?

Before the Ledger fiasco I was contemplating moving coins to one of their devices. Reasons were convenience and security.
Now I am glad I did not.
Which makes me more interested *again* in using Armory as my primary air-gapped tool.
I I would really like to see bc1 addresses incorporated in Armory.
Hope that work on it is in progress.

He was actually hiding in Serbia most if not all of the time. Why he appeared in Montenegro is not known now. I suppose somebody ill advised him.
|
|
|
Is there hope to see Armory with bc1 address generation capability soon?
Thar would be a nice feature allowing lower fees in the future.

What file holds private keys? I would rather safely erase/overwrite this critical file only by myself using specialised file eraser software instead of whole disk. That would eliminate the possibility of leaking private keys from the restored wallet file/files.

Thanks all.
Looks like it is financially better option just to buy 1 Bitcoin and wait for next price increase.

I tried to find answer here but no luck so I will ask - risking that the answer is already available on some place I did not look into.
So question is: What actuality happens if Armory is used and wallet deleted from after use by pressing Delete/Remove Wallet button on the Wallet Properties screen?
Is wallet file on the disc deleted? Can this deleted wallet file be somehow restored and keys recovered and bitcoins get stolen?
In essence the question is: is laptop or PC with Armory wallet previously DELETED as above, is stolen/lost? Is it possible to recover bitcoins from it?

Hi,
I am thinking of investing about value equivalent to 1BTC at today's price 16.K in a dedicated solar power panels at my roof and use the energy produced for mining bitcoins. If I buy second hand miners with 200TH hash power included in the package, how I would calculate time of investment return?

I hope he and some more people will be jailed soon and stay there until BTC reaches 350.000 USD.

Make a TrueCrypt file with a very strong passphrase. Store this encrypted file somewhere on internet possibly not directly connected with you. Encrypt passphrase with a simple password known only to you - 6 number pin + some letters in second truecrypt file. Send 2nd file to yourself on the travel day. Upon arrival decrypt both files, create new wallet and transfer all coins to this new wallet.

Are they going to request a new address from creditors or they are planning to use the withdrawal address already in Mt.Gox customer database?
|
|
|
I suppose they have to ask from creditors to supply an address for sending them the approved amount of BTC. Or they might make a contract with an exchange to do this work on behalf of the Court.
