1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v7.3 (Windows/Linux) on: October 29, 2016, 01:40:52 PM
Hello,

I'm new to mining and after trying for several weeks on windows 10, using claymore's and various other miners, I gave up as the hash rate was so low. I had heard that Linux is the way to go so I installed Ubuntu 16.04, updated everything and installed java8 jdk, cuda 8.0 and sdk (not sure if I need sdk but having read that others had it installed, I did so thinking it was/is necessary), as well as the latest Nvidia drivers. After having configured the text files, the same way I did on windows, so I know the information I entered is correct, I proceeded to type "sudo start start.bash".

The command prompt opens and I get a "connection refused" error message. It works fine on windows yet I can't get it to run on Linux, I am at a loss of knowledge in terms of commands to enter to get the program to run. Could someone please explain to me how I'm able to run the program using Ubuntu 16.04? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've checked out so many forums and endless google searches have come up with nothing that can solve my problem.

My setup:
- i7-6700k.
- Gtx 980ti.
- 32GB ddr4 3000mhz.
- Asus Maximus Gene viii.
- Samsung 950 & 850 pro.

P.s. I use my system for gaming mostly, yet it would be great to get the mining software up and running so that I can then invest in a six card rig and turn things up a notch. I could easily use Windows 7 but I would prefer to use Linux as I have gone through a lot of trouble setting it up and I'm quite enjoying learning the ropes with this new Os. What commands do i need to type to get the program started? I can't find a guide with it written anywhere, thanks in advance for your replies. I'll be starting with ETH and then add Sia later.
