1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pre sale] Digicash Bank: Decentralized cryptobank w/ stablecoin bkd by eth on: August 30, 2017, 07:02:49 PM
Hey all, sorry for the radio silence. We've had our heads down working hard and finally have news! The real-time high throughput IDEX alpha is live and open for people to try it out. More info can be found here.

We're almost ready to come out of stealth with our rebrand and will be making a new ANN thread under the new project. Looking forward to showing off what we have accomplished!

Whoever just tried to make the 15 ether purchase you need to up your gas limit to 150,000. Your tx was set to 100,000 which is why the transaction failed. Thanks!

As far as I can tell, this is something like Tether meets Etherdelta? They have a working exchange at http://www.idex.market , and have a well thought out plan on becoming the bank of the cryptocurrency world. TBH I'm not sure why this isn't getting more attention

Thanks for the interest HodlFroever!

Our previous product was fiat-backed assets, just like tether but on ethereum. We are pivoting away from that product and will be closing it down shortly to focus 100% on building out the bank. We still believe that a stable currency is necessary for ethereum dapps to really flourish but are interested in tackling it from a new angle. We are of the opinion that fiat-backed assets will eventually require built in compliance, which goes against the promise of blockchains to open up finance. A true decentralized blockchain based bank with decentralized stablecoin could bring finance to the underbanked parts of the world with the same benefits of traditional banking while keeping decentralized.

The project is inspired heavily from how banks operated before governments got involved and mucked everything up with regulations. We have provided a decent amount of background material at the end of the whitepaper for those who are interested in learning the true evolution of banking that lead us to the disaster system we have today of central banks. We know that the cryptocurrency community on a whole is not a fan of banks but in reality banking has not always been like this, and with education many of the people against banking will find that what they really dislike is central banking.

Invested a little bit, seems interesting  Smiley

U guys should definitely get more active in social media tho, last tweet was in February.

Thanks Self1sch!

Indeed we do. Once we have the site redesigned and the next version of IDEX live we are going to be marketing a lot more. At this point we want to build out our product first as we want to "wow" people  Cool

I'm very excited about this project and glad I stumbled onto it. You guys have been in this for a while and have a solid idea, team, social presence, and codebase. I don't think the VIP tokens will last for very long.

Couple of questions:
What makes you passionate about creating a stable cryptocurrency?
What factors went into the decision to start your fundraiser?

Thank you

Thanks for the kind words FarmerOak!

I have been into crypto for a very long time and always thought the volatility was holding it back in terms of it being used as a currency. Obviously we all love the price going up but for a currency that is not a good feature. When Ethereum first announced it was apparent to me from day 1 that this platform would only flourish if there was a stable currency on the platform that would allow people to use dapps without gambling the value of their money. When I first founded Decentralized Capital we took a more centralized approach to the problem, acting like Tether does and holding the reserves in a bank account. We've since come to terms with the fact that the fiat-backed asset market will move into the domain of banks and also be heavily regulated. The real future in blockchain tech lies in permissionless innovation and we are excited to move our product back in that direction!

Per your second question, we have spent a lot of time and effort going the VC route. We had plenty of promising leads that always seemed to fall apart at the last minute. It was really hard for us to know we were missing an opportunity to build something amazing but at the same time we were a bit uncomfortable with the token sale route. Progress has been made with the legality around token sales, leading to the SAFT documentation we linked above. Since the mvp of IDEX is already live we are able to combine a utility token with SAFT and create a token pre-sale that is legally compliant. Given these advances with the token sale approach we decided that the time was right to go with a token sale.

A bank for crypto currency?
how will it count the exchange rate of any money that will be deleted to the bank? please inform us any more detailed info.

Hello Anafiene,

Digicash Bank is not a bank for all cryptocurrencies. It is a decentralized bank with the goal of creating a stable ethereum asset known as digits. Digicash Bank exists outside of the legacy banking system all together. It achieves the goal of a stable decentralized currency by holding reserves in ether, making loans in digits and integrating with decentralized apps that will accept digit payments at the target value regardless of what price they are currently trading. These dapps that accept digits will receive profit sharing from the bank in return for accepting the digits at the target value.

Along with the methods above, Decentralized Capital is also building decentralized products that will only accept digits for fee payment. We have already launched the mvp of our decentralized exchange and have plans to greatly increase its usability to be on par with centralized exchanges. When the upgraded version is live users will only be able to pay their trade fees in digits, creating a demand for digits early on.

The product is detailed much greater in the whitepaper.

Thank you whoever just made the 10 eth purchase!

To get the DVIP to show up in your ethereum wallet use 0xadc46ff5434910bd17b24ffb429e585223287d7f as the contract address, 2 decimal places for the precision and DVIP for the token name.

contract source?

Hello Overlordcoin,

Can you please be more specific? Are you talking about the SAFT sale contract source code?

Our github has our old product of fiat-backed assets, the IDEX mvp version and the sale contract code linked above. The upgraded version of IDEX will be open sourced shortly after we launch it.

Promising project bookmarked now good luck guys

Thanks! Please join our slack if you would like to learn more.

We'll be updating this thread as we build out our product more on the way to the token sale.

Total supply?
Any roadmap?

Hi Aziernest,

This is a SAFT (Simple Agreement for Future Tokens) sale. Purchases who buy the SAFT will receive 10x more DCB tokens during the sale. At this point we are building out the product more before the token sale and have not finalized terms on the token sale.

The roadmap is at the bottom of the whitepaper. We are currently focusing on improving IDEX to allow for real time trading with unlimited throughput and redesigning the DC site to reflect the change in product direction.

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [Decentralized Ethereum exchange] IDEX live on Ethereum mainnet on: February 03, 2017, 10:03:41 PM
youre site is official ethereum exchanger
why youre develop exchanger not secure, without use Htpps, and more another about secure site

IDEX is an Ethereum dapp. You connect to it with the Ethereum blockchain, therefor there is no need for SSL (https) when connecting. SSL actually causes dapps to not work. When you log in to IDEX you do so by connecting your RPC to the interface. There is no sign in at all.

All trades are signed with your private key. It is impossible for IDEX to move user funds without their permission. There is also no central wallet that hold all of the user's funds. The only way to be hacked is to have your keypair compromised. Hope this clears some things up.

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN] [Decentralized Ethereum exchange] IDEX live on Ethereum mainnet on: January 13, 2017, 05:58:24 PM
IDEX (International Distributed Ethereum Exchange), Decentralized Capital’s new smart contract exchange, is now live on the Ropsten testnet and open for beta testing. We’re looking for as much community feedback as possible, so please come check it out! Here’s what you need to know to get started.

Setting-up Metamask & getting your account funded

  • Connecting to the exchange requires access to an RPC, and the easiest way to do this is through metamask. Simply install the metamask plugin and change the network from mainnet to Ropsten testnet (dropdown in the upper left hand corner of metamask).
  • Once you are connected to the testnet you can get testnet eth through Metamask. In the account section click "buy" followed by "go to test faucet" to request eth from the faucet.
  • You can obtain the other three currencies enabled for testing by sending some of this ETH to the following contracts. The contracts distribute 10,000 of each asset per ETH.

               BTC.DC: "0x21e645597b16dadf9c1e8701d8bc20fb88314972"

               USD.DC: "0xe8da06169d6773e85055e772ea1659e2a74b617e"

               REP: "0xe1e3e3a5342ada2d41dabfdb42536f278fb83a44"

Depositing and Trading on IDEX

Now that you have some test currency, you can deposit on IDEX and start trading.

  • Connection Settings - Select the “ethereum” dropdown in the navigation bar and ensure your RPC URL is correct. Metamask users type “metamask” in this field. Choose the correct testnet wallet address from the dropdown and click submit.Your wallet is now configured to work with the IDEX interface!
  • Depositing Funds - Navigate to the "wallet" tab (next to "timeline") and deposit the currencies. Note, ETH deposits generate one Metamask pop-up for confirmation, while the other ERC-20 tokens generate two (one to call the approve function on the token contract, and another the deposit function on the IDEX contract).
  • Making Trades - To place a new buy or sell order on the books enter in the price and amount and click "buy" or "sell." To fill an existing order, click on the order in question to populate the trade details, and then click "buy" or "sell."
  • Order Book Changes - The order book will update to reflect your recent order as soon as you submit. When placing a new order it’s immediately available for other customers to fill. When filling an existing order, the order on the books is updated immediately, but you cannot trade again until it has settled on the blockchain.

Testing will run for a couple of weeks to ensure the exchange is stable before deploying to the mainnet. Please send all questions and bug reports (steps to reproduce, screenshots, etc.) to support@decentralizedcapital.com.

DVIP

Lastly, the DVIP sale re-opens today at 1pm eastern! DVIP is an ethereum token-based membership asset that entitles the holder to zero trade fees on IDEX as well as zero/discounted fees on DC Assets. Please send 13.72 Ether per DVIP to the following address : 0x0d845706ddc11f181303a80828219c714ceb3687

Hi Dev I was wondering about your project I got a little doubt to Invest into your project this ICO use escrow btw ? above I just tried to purchase DVIP token but..

Hi thanks for your interest.

Our sale is being performed via an Ethereum smart contract. All you have to do is send Ether to that address, and the contract will calculate how much DVIP you have purchased and issue it to you automatically (along with any refund of ETH that doesn't purchase at least 0.01 DVIP).

In order to see the DVIP you have purchased you need to add it to your wallet software. Here are the parameters:

Token Address: 0xadc46ff5434910bd17b24ffb429e585223287d7f
Symbol: DVIP
Precision: 2

Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks!
