1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v15.0 (Windows/Linux) on: November 12, 2020, 11:00:03 AM
Does Claymore v15.0 have the enlargement pill built in?  It has been awhile since I have mined.

CLAYMORE v15 HAS MEMORY ENHANCEMENT TEAKS--.

It does not have the original ETHLargementPill "built-in".  Claymore is reputed to be better, if your launch string is well written.  I found it more stable with my 1080ti.

--scryptr

Do you mind sharing your launch string for 1080ti?  I have been using claymore 15 for months with the original ethlargmenent pill but it crashes pretty often...
2  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain introduces the Antminer S17 Pro, Antminer S17, and the Antminer T17 on: July 31, 2019, 05:41:35 AM
They've been 25% since August 23, 2018. 8543.70.9960 is in Section 301 Tariff List 2. There have been no changes to List 2 tariffs. List 3 tariffs increased from 10% to 25% in May 2019 and List 4 tariffs did not increase to 25% yet. If you only order one unit at a time you may luck out with an informal entry (if below $2,500), customs classifying it wrong, and only paying 2.6%. All of my last orders through DHL were only charged 2.6% and liquidated as such. Comes down to the customs officer completing the paperwork for informal entries. Larger orders and formal entries you'll be paying the full 27.6%.

I was replying to the guy who said it's the same amount of BTC as when they were cheaper.  My comment was that since the price in USD is higher now, the total amount of tariffs you have to pay now is higher...
3  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain introduces the Antminer S17 Pro, Antminer S17, and the Antminer T17 on: July 30, 2019, 03:44:31 PM
More ridiculously priced S17's "coming soon"

tariffs are much higher now....which means total cost is way up whether or not you need to buy the btc
4  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: July 30, 2019, 03:41:15 PM
Bitmain has another shipment of all miners "coming soon"
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: May 03, 2018, 06:57:39 PM
maybe real devs will follow the monero's plan, a new asic for the algo i use? easy, fork to change the algo, guys remember we need true decentralization on this world, if not, satoshi create btc only to see how we (dumb humans) destroy a whole new freedom way to a new economic system. i mean, we love money, but do we want to be at the same state like banks make us belive we own our money? because thats what theyr trying to do, centralize the hashpower like they centralize all the actual economic system. fuck bitmain and asics.

How is selling these to the public going to centralize the hashing power? Serious question.

Also, didnt ZEC devs say they dont care if there are ASICs ?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: May 03, 2018, 06:41:29 PM
Hi, is possible to use only one coupon per order?

Cheers W_M

You can only order 1 anyway...
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: May 03, 2018, 06:35:29 PM
The real question is, should we start selling our 1070s now before these ASICs lower their profit?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: May 03, 2018, 05:27:35 PM
Can any detectives find out how many have sold based on the payment address?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: May 03, 2018, 04:54:34 PM
you think they actually wont ship to people who order more than one ?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: May 03, 2018, 04:30:42 PM
It says 1 per customer, even if using multiple email addresses.  How do you order multiple?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: May 03, 2018, 04:27:34 PM
hhmm, wondering if i should sell some 1070 now...

13  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: April 13, 2018, 04:07:31 PM
yah, about $60 more for the S9...  Not sure how it is worth it unless you have very low power cost.
14  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Installing 10x dedicated 50amp outlets - $8000 reasonable ? on: April 12, 2018, 02:07:40 PM
Lol I got a new main panel, added a sub panel, got 5 30A locking outlets installed for $4300 and thst included all the parts and city inspection.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW] Bitmain Announces Antminer A3 on: January 29, 2018, 06:03:31 AM
New batch of A3's being released today?
Yes says Bitmain but "All confirmed orders in this batch will start shipping after 15 March 2018".

So 50 days left to mine before they get fired up?  As long as profit stays over 40 a day we should have ROI by then
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain just announced the AntMiner A3 - 815GH/s Siacoin miner - Blake(2b) on: January 22, 2018, 07:36:57 PM
Can someone tell me if we can run these in a aprtment in the US? I believe we have 125 V 15 A breakers. But the APW++ PSU on bitmain site says that 110 V will only provide 1200 W ourput. Are we SOL? Will the bathroom or kitchen special outlets do any help?
Run it from your dryer outlet.  Can buy outlet plug converters and extension cords.  You'll just have to hang dry your clothes for a while but you can put them in the room with the miner cuz it'll be hot!!!

You know tho, if past experience is any indicator, it's always cheaper to just buy the coin instead of the miner.  Coins that have asics always go up in price too, dramatically.  So I'm just going to buy SC.  I bought jupiters back in '13 and had I just bought the btc, I would have made out 100x better.

I am still confused what converter to buy and where. Can you suggest what to buy? I initially thought the below should work

https://www.amazon.com/AC-Connectors-14-30P-Welder-adapter/dp/B06XGQ951H/

But it looks like it is a converter for welder adapter which wont suit for the power cable to power the APW3++?

This is how my dryer power slot looks

https://imgur.com/a/Eais0

ANd this is the power cable I was planning to buy

https://www.amazon.com/C2G-Cables-03134-Universal-IEC320C13/dp/B00005113L/

The answers are out there but what I was planning to do is goto home depot and just taking that pic with me and asking them in the dryer dept.  Being honest, I'm trying to run another appliance, in another room, requiring this power.  You'll need to also buy a power cord.  The miner power supply does not come with a power cord.  You can buy a power cord that will fit whatever extension you find.  I don't have the answers at my fingertips because I stopped looking.  I didn't get one.  There's a facebook group that will be more than willing to help.  This dude on youtube is the real deal.  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCg8qb-blh8xGMYcBPC1ntvA
His facebook page is awesome! www.facebook.com%2Fgroups%2F604653876592512%2F

^I hope that link works, I quit facebook the other day.  His fb link is in his videos.

I was implying the same thing...modify a dryer plug, and don't run both at once.  Hang clothes lines cause this thing is gonna make some heat. Smiley
I'm thinking the APW3++ power supply has a terminal lug hookup.
Making a standard dryer plug work will be cheap and easy for this. $20 at Lowes/HD.

If the APW3++ has a plug interface it will be about $10 more and need some soldering work...

I am such a noob on these. Will you please post what item to buy in hd/lowes and how to set it up?

I am the op that posted pics and I am still clueless on how to use the dryer outlet..

I see on ebay the APW3 uses a standard "PC" plug.

Your best/safest bet is to find someone with electrical experience to make something like this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/4-Outlet-220V-110V-Splitter-for-S9-L3-D3-S7-Antminer-Bitmain-Bitcoin-APW3-1200W/173081170837?hash=item284c711395:g:BtEAAOSwBRFaN0Pq
(don't be scared, there's only like $40 of parts in that thing.)

But have it made with 1 double or single outlet for a 220v plug.

Then just get a 220v plug for it:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/BITMAIN-APW3-220v-Power-Cord-for-Antminer-L3-S7-or-S9-14AWG-3FT/273032967692?hash=item3f9208760c:g:pHgAAOSw301aYk-f

Pic 3 in the first link shows the different dryer cable types.  You'd have to check your outlet to see what you need.
If you do it that way, it should be up to code.

The cheaper option is to get the 2 cables, cut the ends off to get to the wires, solder the proper wires together and heavily insulate them.  I'm not sure of the phasing/naming of each wire but it should be available by searching the web.  This will only save you like $10 in parts, so I'd try to go the first way described.

Since you say you have little/no experience with electrical, I would definitely find someone in the know to do it.  I used to work with 8000V DC at work and still won't pull any 240V AC plug without wearing heavy gloves.

Thank you so much. The $150 part is scary on the first item you posted on ebay but if it would work, I will buy. The seller also wants a lot of time to assemble and ship. Also, he says that each outlet (out of the 4) is 110 V 20 A. If it's 110 V, wouldn't that negate what I am trying to do since APW3 needs 220V?

I went to Lowe's today and I am wondering if I can do the below?

Buy the below dryer power cord (to plug into my dryer power outlet)

https://www.lowes.com/pd/Utilitech-6-ft-4-Wire-Black-Dryer-Appliance-Power-Cord/3264993

And wire it with the below connector

https://www.lowes.com/pd/Hubbell-20-Amp-250-Volt-Black-White-3-Wire-Grounding-Connector/3739253

Then use the below power cable to connect to the above connector and power the APW3

https://www.ebay.com/itm/BITMAIN-APW3-220v-Power-Cord-for-Antminer-L3-S7-or-S9-14AWG-3FT/273032967692?hash=item3f9208760c:g:pHgAAOSw301aYk-f#shpCntId

Will it work? Also, I am also not risking my life by not playing with the actual wall outlet right? lol

I was just using that ebay item to show what you can do.  The seller should be able to make them with 220v outlets.

What you came up with should work but you need to be careful and make sure the connections are correct.  There are 4 wires on the dryer cable but only 3 on the adapter.  Dig around the net and you should be able to get it done.

Thanks. May be I should have the electrician at Lowes do the connection for me after I buy it?

Is there any chance you could tell what 3 to connect from the dryer wore to what on the connector and which one to leave alone on the dryer  wire?

I tried to google but not many results since this is a rare situation I guess. Most of it was about how to change the dyer from 3 prong to 4 prong Sad

If your dryer is a 240v line anyway, FIRST turn off the breaker to that line,  grab a L6-30R outlet like this - https://www.homedepot.com/p/Leviton-30-Amp-250-Volt-Flush-Mounting-Grounding-Locking-Outlet-Black-2620/301305006 and swap it out.  Then Grab a PDU with a L6-30P plug like this -https://www.amazon.com/Tripp-Lite-Outlets-Rack-Mount-PDUH30HV19 (this one is way over priced) and you can run 4 S9s if it is 240V or 3 S9s if it is 220V

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to start a hidden miner? on: January 17, 2018, 05:01:55 PM
We have a lot of windows computers in the company I own. All of them with expensive and fast CPUs. Already did some calculations and even with a low CPU usage (0 impact in the tasks we need to do) It would be very profitable to mine!

I want to configure some cryptonight miners running in background (no screen, no terminal) so employees won't get worried about "that weird screen".

I tried autorunning a .bat with this code: START /B xmr-stak-cpu

However It's not what I wanted and reopens the miner immediately.

Any ideas about how should I do this?

Thanks in advance Smiley

To actually answer the question, use the task scheduler to run it "whether a user logs in or not" at every boot and it will not open a cmd window

They have sold over 5000 A3s if this is their account 1NrMNvxsDwsQ9DA4styegmTue9tPPsV9bg

Someone was saying they sold 6000 to buyers in China already.. Any other users from China confirm this? If so can someone post the wallet address they wanted payment sent to for China customers?

China buyer is using same BCH wallet too?

I don't know.. Literally just going off what some rando posted a couple pages back. Trying to find out if what they said is legit or not.

Guys, i live in china... im sure you know bitmain have one site for china and one for the rest of the world... i dont know how many machines were there for the global site... but there were 6000 for china... and they were sold for 20800 RMB around 3200$...

i got one, they will deliver in china between 4 days, so ill share some pics when i get mine... and show the profits after one week... im ready to plug it in as soon as i get it...  hopefully the difficulty will stay at current level for a couple weeks to get my money back... after that if it drops... ill just resell the machine... lol

Its legit... by chinese laws, bitmain can not sell this machine in the mainland by any cryptocurrency, they sell it only in RMB... you can check their chinese website
https://shop.bitmain.com/main.htm?lang=zh

and also by chinese law they must tell how many machines were available for sale... and in their announcement by Wechat account, they state there was 6000 machines just for mainland china

BTW, im not chinese... just been teaching english here for a few years

Do you know what else is required to mine on this? Just 1x APW++ power supply?
Copy paste from their instuctions :
"5. You will need an ATX PSU with at least 10 six-pin PCIe connectors...Bitmain recommends the APW3++ to power the A3.
6. Separate power supply to control board: there is one additional six-pin PCIe connector on the IO board which must be connected to the PSU to get power.

This confused me a bit ... still brand new to Asic miners here, this will be my first one. (I'm also in China btw, so also paid that Chinese premium) in case people didn't realize its ~USD 500 more expensive to buy it here in China.

Also is there any additional software needed? Or just need a pc to configure wallet ? I'll try to do all my research in the next couple of days so I can start day 1 when the miner arrives

It isn't very clear, but I think the reason they say you need an extra PSU is because the APW++ has 10 connectors, but they are in 5 pairs of 2.  The IO Board is probably too far away for the 5th cable to to plug into a hashing board and the IO Board.

APW++ has 2 groups of 4 and 2 individual cables
