2  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [HELP] satoshibox.com - scam?! on: January 23, 2016, 11:07:30 AM
Yes, every payment has its unique address. SatoshiBox doesn't use any external api to be safe as possible.

I know that its almost year old post, but i want ensure everyone that SatoshiBox is not scam. There was payment problems earlier, but new version solves all payment problems automaticaly - especialy these large payments or even invalid payments which are problematic to support.

Anyway your payment was sent 2 days after initial payment https://blockchain.info/tx/edbcf6a1dbdd5fbb25d352d4753446186290d61f005ef35ec73603339dbaf50b

I found something:

It seems that satoshibox.com generate a kind of "exchange"-link for every file.
I tested it by creating a new file and entered a wallet:

The pay-address was different from the one I entered.
So I went back and checked the payment address from my file (13 BTC) and it was the same address than the address where currently my bitcoins are!

So what could be the reason that I'm not receiving my bitcoins? Could it be a blockchain problem? Is satoshibox.com using the blockchain.info API or other API's for exchange?
The amount is 13 bitcoins, sent at 18.11.2015 14:30 is this normal for this kind of value?
3  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Is it possible to return payment? on: September 16, 2015, 02:08:55 PM
Can't you just write some code that checks the transaction for the proper amount? And after the payment is confirmed you create another transaction sending back the change? Although you probably need to ask your customers for a refund address when they buy.

Yes, this is the only solution i have in my head but less than ideal...
4  Bitcoin / Project Development / Is it possible to return payment? on: September 16, 2015, 06:32:02 AM
Hi there,

i am creator of satoshi box - service for selling files. Most of our complaints are from people who do not match box price exactly and then labeling us scam before contacting support. We are refunding manualy right now, but with rising count of payments it will not be possible in future.

I was out of bitcoin development for awhile, so what is most convenient way to automaticaly return payment fully or partialy - with or without any confirmations as soon as possible? Is there any BIP addressing this issue?

It's a scam site . No response from them when a query is asked on the contact form . DO NOT use this website .

I paid for the download and no response . It's been 24 hours now

Hi Bineshb,
i sent you two emails at 2015-03-13 08:44:14 and 2015-03-16 10:07:55, but got no response, please look at your spam folder.

Suggestion: The ability to be able to sell files for less than .01BTC. This would be smart to update due to the current exchange rate.  Smiley

Fixed => new file price minimum is 0.001

What's the commission on this? I'm really interested in this, if only we could have an account to manage the sales we put up though.

Please read http://satoshibox.com/terms (no commission yet, in very distant future there will be small service fee)

From support mail:

I don't see a way to change the price?
The only way is to redirect old box (see administration) to new one with better price.

Affiliation links, also look into some PR, maybe ask some blogs to pick up your site. Try and get on a podcast and talk about your site. You built the site, but have not done any marketing. I really should have charged for this advice but I was feeling nice today.

In coincidence i am creating affiliate option right now. And yes, i can build good product, but marketing is not what i am good at. Thanks for advices!

Maybe the problem is that the current Bitcoin users are not fond of files monetization

i believe that there is enough users... it might be used even with sellers coming from non-btc world, but it is not easy attract the right people

1) Interested if the commission will be 20% when out of beta, since you put 80% in strikeout next to 100% in the TOS
not decided yet

2) Would like a directory of hosted files (maybe set it so if people fill out the Title field, that makes it public, otherwise private?
yes, it is definitely in future features list

3) btcfile.com won't give a running stats (views/buys) on the secret page for each file, only if you contact their support. Would it be possible to have the stats viewable on SatoshiBox without needing to request them? Either on the secret page, or the public one?

Done! http://satoshibox.com/news/stats Smiley

Hi,

my project is for programmers, musicians, artists and whoever create digital content. Its called SatoshiBox (http://satoshibox.com).

I made some announcements and paid some ads but still no big luck on user adoption. I am still adding new features like payment button with processing on page (http://jsfiddle.net/YeJfX/2/) and so on, but without minor successes it will be pain to develop. Do you have any usefull advices for my project? Or tell me that i am just inpatient Smiley

Now you can embed "box" to your web/blog and sell directly to your customers without sending them to http://satoshibox.com

Here's an omission

Thanks, fixed!

Also for later, you might consider showing some stats on each file, or a rating from people who have paid for it.

Yes, i am thinking about some kind of verification or rating which would help downloaders.

Yet you use a .com domain name, which can easily be taken away. I hope you're ready with an alternative like .sx Smiley

Very good idea!

I'd be interested in seeing an optional login system for uploaders.

Its all in plan with all depending features like transactions, stats, rating... Thanks!

What if you want a refund?

We can not do refunds because bitcoins are send directly to uploader. It's up to you if you trust web/forum/person who spread the link

Will any of the source code be posted?  A bit of transparency when coins are changing hands is always a good thing.

Hmmm, what part exactly do you want? Its php+mongodb application working with bitcoind through api
