1  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Wirex- Bitcoin Debit Card | Buy Bitcoin | Mobile Banking | Send Money on: June 04, 2017, 05:37:13 PM
So many negative posts.
I don't think I will use the service after reading all these posts,
But also I realise their btc/usd rates are worst off than other card providers by a huge margin.

No real reason to own BTC now, even if they activate LN, it's Low onchain capacity & high fee structure is a coin killer.

BTC is old and outdated and it's onchain capacity is still going to be in the toilet compared to every other coin.

LTC should assume the Throne as #1 coin on CoinMarketcap within a year or so.

LTC has become the GOLD , and BTC is just turning to RUST.

 Cool

This post of yours will make you look stupid In a few more months from now.

It's not a scam actually. They use their own internal exchange rate when we deposit using bitcoins. It's clearly stated at the fees section and the rate can be found at the front page. I believe other services like wagecan and  e-coin also use their own internal exchange rate which is also lower than the official rate. The rate is not favourable but that's how they earn money, it's business. But I agree they should state their own exchange rate over there instead of stating 0 btc fee which might mislead users to think there is a hidden 2% fees.

As for withdrawal to bitcoins, I think they disabled it temporarily from their own perspective business point of view (?) Anyway, I only use advcash to load my card so I can spend my bitcoins conveniently and don't have the need to withdraw it back to bitcoins as I don't see the point in doing so since you will lose money due to being hit by the unfavourable rate twice. I just hope they can lower their fx fees and ATM withdrawal charges so I will use their card more often when traveling,,

For new users,, it took abt one month for card to reach my place situated at south east asia but hey, the card only cost $5 if u purchase within first 2 weeks of registration and last for 3 years so I don't mind.

My stop order incurred huge loss to me, triggered at 1310. 1 btc was sold at 1310 and the rest were sold at 1301. Why is there such a huge gap between 1310 and 1301? Then I panicked and blindly buy and sell using the app during the drop, resulting in another $15 loss per btc. Haizz,, I accept it as my loss,, but feel heartache when I think abt it. On a positive note, I haven't had any problems with regards to Fiat and btc withdrawals in quoine but the mobile trading app needs improvement as I cannot see the order book clearly and it processes market orders significantly slower than trading on the website.
