1  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela Is Now More Than 50% Dollarized, Study Finds on: February 10, 2020, 07:15:08 PM
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-11-05/venezuela-is-now-more-than-50-dollarized-study-finds

Quote
Venezuela’s economy is increasingly dollarized, with more than half of retail transactions now being carried out in U.S. currency, a study found.

An estimated 54% of all sales in Venezuela last month were in dollars, according to a survey by Econoalitica, a Caracas-based research firm.

In Maracaibo, the country’s second-largest city, about 86% of all transactions took place in dollars, according to the study. The city has been one of the worst hit by blackouts, which has rendered credit card readers useless for days on end.

As Venezuela has become dollarized, inflation has come down. Even their idiot president Maduro admits the dollarization (which was done by citizens spontaneously ignoring their govt's ban on dollars) is a good thing.

A year ago, some of us were hoping that Venezuelans would have adopted bitcoin as their currency (or an alt). But the rolling electricity blackouts not only mean you can't use credit cards, but you can't use cryptocurrency. So they've gone with old fashioned US dollars in cash.

This whole real life case study shows that cryptocurrency won't get adopted in poor countries (because of lack of electricty). It will get adopted in rich countries - rich regulated countries.
I think that what this proves is that the dollar is still the main currency of the world and the one people will use to protect themselves when something goes wrong, but when the dollar  begins to fail then what people are going to use then? And I really think we are going to see a combination of gold and bitcoin saving the day in that instance, however unlike many which have been predicting the demise of the dollar for decades I do not see that day coming anytime soon.
2  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Learning to trade on: February 10, 2020, 06:41:31 PM
you are right to use a little capital when you start trade, especially if you want to survive in this market, you must be a very experienced person then use big capital, when trading, we should not trust completely Index, I think it's only 50%, especially considering the psychology of the people who called sharks, this market seems to depend too much on them, and the world news that helps you So much, and always control yourself, good luck

I advise you to calculate your strategy based primarily on your own skills. It is not so important what size your deposit is, in any case, you must divide it into several parts in percentage terms.
Only then decide which asset and how many percent you are willing to trade. It will be much easier for you, because in fact your deposit itself will be divided into several parts.

You are talking about one of the most important aspects of trading, even if you have a strategy that over the long term will make you money if for some reason you do not know how to manage your money then you are going to become a loser trader despite your winning strategy, so it is important to always have this in mind and if you are thinking about investing all your money in a  single coin not named bitcoin then you need think about this and if you do not then you will eventually face the consequences.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone still earning with bounties? on: February 10, 2020, 06:21:25 PM
Hi,

I didn't get any valuable tokens for several months in bounties (even the promised tokens without any value) .

Are you still earning money with them or just a few bucks (which is not worth to bother)?

In 2017 and 2018, it was so profitable. Now, what is the situation?

Should I start again?
It depends on your goals, if you want to earn money right away then bounties are not really a good way to do that, however if you are willing to do those bounties thinking about the next bull run then it may be worth it, we know a bull run is coming sooner or alter but if you wait until that day to become a bounty hunter then it will be too late, but if you keep working in those projects and then a bull run comes you are going to have many tokens and some of those will eventually make you some money.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top coins to have in my portfolio? on: February 10, 2020, 06:03:28 PM
Bitcoin is my first choice...
Ethereum is a solid coin to consider as a number two choice.
What do you think about NEO? for me I believe it's a good project, ripple is good too to mention only but few.
In many cases bitcoin is not only the top choice to be in your portfolio in some cases it is the only choice and I cannot blame people that think like that since bitcoin as an investment is so much better compared to all the no name altcoins we have in the market and that can disappear in a matter of weeks after you invest in them and you do not want to be the person holding the bag at the end or the amount of money you could lose is astronomical.
5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Excessive confidence in cryptocurrency trading. on: February 10, 2020, 05:44:22 PM
Just because they can fake it doesn't mean they can make it with the methods they have that doesn't make it. You can be over confident or maybe just enough confident to look like you are a good trader, however that doesn't change the fact that if you are not making any profits, you are not a good trader. So, you can't fake trading, you can't fake profits in trading that is not possible, mathematics are mathematics and profits are profits. Either you are a good trader and have some profits or you are a bad one and have losses.
That is why you could give someone else your strategy to make money in the markets with very specific instructions about how to do it and they will never make any money because they will not know why you take a particular step since they were not the ones to device your strategy, so they will eventually deviate from it and then just when they need your strategy the most are going to make a mistake and lose an amount of capital that will make impossible for them to recover that money by trading.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin SV Drama on: January 31, 2020, 07:25:38 PM
BSv is on steady downward decline, and I don't know when this is going to stop, but I know another fraudulent post from CSW will send it back to the moon and the rat race will continue.
but what kind of fraudulent claim will CSW creates? I thought he's running out of excuse and his only way is to prove the ownership of millions btc which to be said is in his possession but unfortunately all of that was a lie considering that he can't proof it but instead just sharing information that could be publicly accessed. I guess BSV will just go down steadily and if it get pumped, it's not because CSW but something else.
In the near future that is the biggest problem for BSV, at some point he will need to show that he in fact owns as many coins as he says he has and if he does not have those private keys then he is going to lose whatever credibility that he had left and more importantly when that day comes that coin is going to crash in a spectacular fashion and I will not be surprised to find out that coin eventually disappeared and followed the path of the many scams that came before it.
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: corona virus & bitcoin market on: January 31, 2020, 07:02:06 PM
What does corona virus have to do with bullish bitcoin ?? any effects
While many do not seem to see an effect I think it had it, when the corona virus made the news the stock market went down, gold went up and bitcoin went up as well, this means there is uncertainty about the extent this disease is going to impact our world and people decided to invest some more money in assets that can hold their value and this included bitcoin, obviously bitcoin was already in the middle of a positive trend but I think it had the effect of prolonging and making that trend even stronger.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people still fall victim to obvious scam? on: January 31, 2020, 06:36:19 PM
The answer to this is just simple, greed and selfishness. It is only greed that will make someone invest in a project knowing definitely that the conditions of what they have invest in is not really reliable and realistic. Greedy people are the ones getting scammed in the crypto space in recent time...
It is not only their greed that is causing this, after all most investors need to show some level of greed since we all want to profit from our investments and yet many of us do not fall victims of obvious scams, what happens is that those people have an uncontrolled greed, and we see people like that in the forum all the time, those people that want to obtain 100x profits in a single year by investing in an ico are chasing an impossible dream that most likely will bring them misery instead of money.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin's price is disappointing!!! on: January 31, 2020, 06:12:03 PM

if there are people who invest in cryptocurrency then they should be able to implement long-term investments because if only making short-term investments it will make them difficult to make a profit, and mental investors must also be strong so it is not easy to be affected by bad news that makes coin prices fall because if you invest in a coin like bitcoin then the price can recover.
for the past two years, I have left long-term investments by selling BTC and switching to daily trading. I still earn the daily trades that I get. it's not too bad for me even better than just waiting for my assets to increase for a long time. now I have started to wait for BTC to rise and I think not for the long term. maybe until the end of this year or early next year.
One of the most important things for a trader to do is to identify in which kind of market we are, 2018 was a terrible year to be an investor or a holder and you could have been better by just staying on the sidelines or shorting bitcoin, but 2019 was a good year for holders and investors, and for what I can see it seems that this year it is going to be good as well for investors, we only need to be patient and hold our coins no matter what happens before the halving.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Many big powers agains crypto on: January 31, 2020, 05:49:45 PM
This is nothing new,
Since the birth of Bitcoin many people have been opposed to it but they have been unable to do anything.
You have to remember that the more people support bitcoin than the people who oppose it.
Most of those that oppose bitcoin are the ones at the top, they do not want that bitcoin succeeds because that will mean they will have to adapt to a new set of rules that they cannot change and this is something they do not like at all, people in the other hand support bitcoin because they see in it the possibility of finally having a fair economy in which the governments cannot steal your money as easily as they can do now with inflation and their useless fiat.
11  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Full time trading is boring on: January 26, 2020, 06:20:43 PM
full time trading would be profitable for me maybe if only the market was so bullish. because i am not an expert and the market is very dynamic. volatility is too high. so if you are not enough good to follow everything it is very risky to make full time trading.
This is a very common misconception, many people feel that if the market just went up indefinitely then they will become good traders and they will be profitable, well we do not get to choose how the market moves you are the one that needs to adapt to its movements, you need to adapt to its volatility and if you can't then you should not become a trader because most likely you are just going to lose your money and you're not going to even understand why.
That problem is that people aren't much prepared for it (volatility) instead, they always think that the market price will always be moving high without suffering dumps on the way. If they anticipate this sort of challenge, they could surely adopt the system and most likely they could manage to keep their trust tightly. But that makes no sense at all when we are an impatient person and easily get into FOMO once the market fall.
And it is really surprising that people are not ready to face the volatility of the market, after all if you see a coin going up for several days in a significant way then you can easily see the volatility is going up and just as that volatility can benefit you it can also play against you if you are in the wrong side of the market, and people do not understand this because most people never really took time to learn how to trade and how to read the charts so they can take high probability trades.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: Can a Stock Market Crash affect Bitcoin? on: January 26, 2020, 05:58:16 PM
I was thinking that investors would think the cryptocurrency market as an alternative to traditional investment products.
Having said that, my point was that those two markets have a reverse impact.

If the stock market goes down, then investors would start searching for alternative (more profitable) investments and turn to Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.
The last days stock market crash seems that lead the market cap of the crypto market down.

Does the Stock Market has impact over the Bitcoin price?

i think stock markets do not have a big impact on crypto market. But ofcourse there are traders that trades on both stock market and crypto market. As long as crypto market keeps the huge potential, it will be charming for all stock market investors&traders as well.
The stock market has a big influence around the world and I have no doubts that it will affect this market negatively at the beginning if it crashed, many people that are holding cryptocurrencies have stocks as well and if the price of their stocks crashed most likely they will have to sell their coins in order to pay their debts and other obligations, this will create a crash in the market of cryptocurrencies but it will be one from which we will easily recover given enough time.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Coin PUMP ? on: January 26, 2020, 05:28:08 PM
of course I will sell it when there is a high pump because I don't want to miss it. I don't want to hold a coin because I've done something stupid so that the coin is worthless
If you are holding a good coin it may be worth to hold your coins for longer in the case the coin keeps going up, you are going to lose some money from time to time but when we are in the middle of a bull market that is when you are going to recover all the money that you lost in those trades, but if you are holding a bad coin then you are right you need to get rid of it as soon as it is evident the pump is going to end since you do not want to be the one holding a useless coin at the end of the day.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Ethereum reach the 1400$ mark this year? on: January 26, 2020, 05:07:40 PM

I believe, like many, that this year will be very good for the crypto world. Assuming that the adoption of cryptocurrencies increases considerably this year, is it possible to see Ethereum surpass the $1400 mark?
That price was reached under very favourable circumstances for ethereum, you should consider yourself lucky if we reach 700 dollars during this year and even I think that amount could be too high, the main reason ethereum touched that price was because people were very excited about icos and now if you take the time to read the comments of the members of the forum you will realize that most people are not really interested in icos anymore and without that interest the price of ethereum cannot go up.
15  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen if the all countries convert to cryptocurrency? on: January 26, 2020, 04:48:37 PM

yeah there will be great difficulty for the people who do not know about the technology, as most of the people do not know about the exchange of bitcoin to other currency so this will lead to the loss of money from many people, i think both crypto-currency and fiat should exist and everybody should be free to use any of them.
if the old generation no longer exists in this world, then the new generation will dominate, I think cryptocurrency has the potential to become a currency for countries, and of course it will be very interesting, Bitcoin will be to the moon!
The younger generation have greater knowledge and more skills with the new technology, in order for cryptocurrencies to be adopted all over the world as people want then we will need to see a generational change, there are still many people that do not even have banks accounts because they do not trust in banks and while their distrust is justified there are going to be many people that are not going to adopt bitcoin for the same reason and I think that is going to slow down the adoption of bitcoin through the world.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why price down after listing in exchanges on: January 25, 2020, 06:50:50 PM

in my own opinion why price down after listing in exchanges its because investors wants immediate profit and then buy back at lower price, hold the coin for atleast  month till the price recover.

If investors do as like you said, "sell immediately and buy back at a lower price" this indicates that investors high optimism about the future of the project. this is a good sign ....

So why do we have to hold the coins till the prices recover?
wouldn't it be more profitable if we implemented the same strategy?
There was a time in this market in which people invested in a project because they believed in the project and that is why they held their coins, they mined some of it and those that could found bugs and improved the wallet and the coin itself, those days are over, people want to obtain profits, it is that simple, and they are not going to hold their coins waiting for the price to recover, they will sell and get their profits and if they can buy at a cheaper price in the future they will do it only if they believe there is a possibility to make some money.
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Get Its First Price? on: January 25, 2020, 06:20:46 PM
Today, the price of bitcoin is going up and down. Many are saying that the price of Bitcoin cannot reach $ 20,000 now.
That can be the right thing to see. This is the reason why Bitcoin has been locked in several countries. The only way Bitcoin can be priced in its true state is if the countries where Bitcoin is closed are removed. Did I say right?
Some of the most important and powerful countries of the world do not seem to want to ban bitcoin, they understand the technology, once they ban bitcoin they are not going to have any recourse against it since people will begin to transact directly in it, a ban from a big country may have a temporal effect on bitcoin but after some time things will go back to the way they were, the reason the price cannot go to 20k is because there is simply not demand for it.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto history making year 2020 started it's journey ! on: January 25, 2020, 05:57:01 PM
Obviously that is what I want as well, we all want that the market of cryptocurrencies begins to recover and that it does in a significant way after the bear market that we have been enduring for the last months, but I'm worried because I see that the market is still making new highs but it is doing so with lower volume and that is a clear indication that the bulls are getting exhausted and that the current prices cannot really be sustained for a long time.
My expectations this year is to have a bullish market after eduring a bearish market for a long period of time the volume of market would increase with time, I always remembered 2017 with nostalgia when every aspect of cryptocurrencies was booming, ICOs, airdrops etc were all profitable I hope this year would be replica of those greenish days.
Unlikely, this is going to be another year in which most likely our expectations are not going to be fulfilled but that is alright, many newbie investors are going to get desperate because of this and will lose their money to us, the investors and traders that are more patient and that are able to endure the difficult circumstances of the market, I just hope that you can do the same since the profits we will get during the next years are surely going to be out of this world.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shit Exchanges, an end to good projects. on: January 25, 2020, 05:10:42 PM
it cannot be denied that most projects are good and have quality products but ultimately end badly, especially for developers who register their projects in bad exchange. Well, there might be a number of reasons developers do that, but if so, surely a good project will not produce sweet fruit.
Of course it can be denied, most projects are either scams or just weak attempts to create something good, and the statistics are on my side when it comes to prove this, most projects fail because they are bad, it is not complicated, at the end it does not matter the exchange they selected those coins are going to disappear anyway no matter what they do, a good coin will survive being listed in a bad exchange and it will eventually be listed in a good one if their developers keep working on it.
20  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: to be able to get a large profit in today's trading is very difficult! on: January 25, 2020, 04:43:44 PM
this proves that all that is needed is patience. if you hold a few coins before 2020, you have benefited from it. for examples like bitcoin, ethereum, LTC, XRP, BCH, BHC SV, and many more, don't you just have to hold back a little longer to make a profit from it? Well, information is important, but I think this year has good information to hold assets.
There are several ways to profits from the market, what you are proposing seems similar to fundamental investing and it is a way to make money in the markets, for example ethereum is almost 90% away from its ATH, we know it is a good coin and that it will eventually recover so if you are a fundamental investor it makes sense to invest in it now and if you are willing to wait a few years I have no doubt a person with that strategy could easily double or even triple his money.
