Dash keeps growing. The market speaks for itself.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thanks Vitalik for pos! on: December 31, 2016, 11:45:46 PM
People are so fast to dog other people out. Especially people that have contributed nothing to the community. Its like a soap opera. So much drama.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralized exchange on: December 29, 2016, 01:33:44 AM
Bitsquare Is definitely a well developed and reputable one. I love the way its going.

Whoever creates a decentralize exchange with fiat an no latency will be huge! The holy grail. Then we could move to stocks and other instruments.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ebitz on: December 29, 2016, 01:32:00 AM
What is going on with this coin? If it is a scam then why are people still buying into it? I just noticed the thread for it was locked. I was wondering why there was no discussions on it.

I don't think sane people will buy this scam coin, it may be wasserman uses bitcoin mixer to laundry his scamming coins made from opair and Declouds

Seems to moving along quite well at this point. hmmmm
6  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Is this bitcoin mixing routine good ? on: December 29, 2016, 01:09:07 AM

Hello

As part of a school project we are asked to create a mixing service. Most of the services right now use coinjoin implemented with more or less privacy.

So a single mixing service wouldn't be enough so here is the mixing routine we thought of :

bitcoin(in) -> mix -> shapeshift( -> Dash -> monero) -> xmr.to ( btc) -> mix -> joinmarket (not sure though we haven't dug a lot into it) -> bitcoin (out)

Of course everything would be automated via various api offered by the services.

Do you have any remarks about it ? Is it good/bad ?

We are kind of afraid about the fees induced by so many external services but implementing our own mixer would require a user base to mix the coin with in the first place which we don't have.

Thanks

I like the idea especially if you can automate it!

Decentralization aside, it could be difficult to compete with some of the well funded exchanges. Blockex and the one by Overstock.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is the future of crypto, bitcoin is not. on: December 29, 2016, 12:56:37 AM
In all reality bitcoin and ethereum and every coin will be outdated ba coin that has not even been made yet. Maybe wont be made for years.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we need ebay like site to promote bitcoin on: December 29, 2016, 12:50:47 AM
actually an ebay like site is the only thing that we need for promoting bitcoin and seeing the real adoption take place.
we all keep talking about it but unless a big application like this is made i don't see people using bitcoin other than an investment. and using it as an investment can only raise the price to small levels but when people all around the world use a platform to trade and spend bitcoin (like an ebay like site) we will see the real rise to 10K USD

Have you seen Openbazaar? Why does nobody use it? People say they want decentralized shopping then dont use it.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Difference between Bitcoin and real money? on: December 29, 2016, 12:48:21 AM
Give or take we all spend money one way or another. Was is fiat or bitcoin we at the end spend it for something. Bigger issues is that sometimes you have bitcoin and you need cash fast takes days to serve all out, but this is something i hope it will be resolved in near future for all to pay/spend bitcoin/fiat not you with cash only. I just hope that i will live to see this happening.

Yea most hope for that to happen  that we dont need to exchange  btc to fiat and that we can do every day shopping  with btc.
And true we have to exchange  btc to spend it

I think maybe bitcoin will be more mainstream before we get a solution. And if more people prefer bitcoin to cash? then cash will die for sure.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: December 26, 2016, 02:44:51 AM

Both network hash rate and masternode count are at all time high levels! network looking very healthy

This place is infested with trolls from monero spreading fud.. team monero should be ashamed of itself for condoning this

The history of this coin speaks for itself.  The dev highly respected and keeps innovating thats why Dash keeps growing. This is one of the first coins I ever bought.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will raise the Altcoin Index? on: December 26, 2016, 02:37:11 AM
Have varying amounts of bitcoin in the index too. This would reduce volatility anyway.

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Augur team member hacked and 100,000 REP were stolen? on: December 06, 2016, 11:53:56 PM
Are the rumors true that one of the developers of Augur is having a mental breakdown? It was said that he was tweeting weird stuff saying that Ethereum is a Russian honey pot or something, and also that Vitalik controls Ethereum totally making the platform not ideal for dapps. Maybe that is what's making the price fall, that developer could be dumping right now.

Quoting above from another thread.  Could this have been going almost a week (nov 30th was above post)? This augur dev guy has 100,000 rep on polo and wasn't able to secure his polo account for a week?  Must be more to this story.

Exchanges commonly say they've been hacked and all the coins were stolen. There's always speculation it was an inside job like with cryptsy. Although there will be speculation the augur dev guy is behind it, without proof it will only be speculation. It's suspicious that a dev would put so many coins on polo. If he was planning to dump them he can't have much faith in his coin, or did he put them on polo so they could get 'stolen'?

Its called the I got hacked retirement plan.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it possible to hack your bitcoin from your wallet? on: December 06, 2016, 11:47:37 PM
If you use a really simple password yes.  Google "entropy" and it will explain this to you.
