I think this is another shit ICO!

Sorry to hear that you've dismissed the project so quickly. Please keep in mind that we are still very much in the early stages. If there is anything that you would specifically like to see from us, please let us know.  Community feedback is incredibly important.  Not only does it help us build a better system, but is necessary if we are going to reach the goals of the project (a crypto for everyone, controlled by the community).

after one month your create annoucment thread
but this thread still not explain detail your coin
how much total suply
type coin
premine
ico selling and more

You make a fair point. We need to be more explicit in the workings of the eCoin System, particularly in updating this thread.

To answer your questions (not exactly in order):

The eCoin System will consist of two crypto assets - eShares and eCoin. The total number of eShares will be determined upon the amount and rate of contributions received during the contribution campaign. During the contribution campaign soft-launch (going on now) one eShare is reserved for every $.01 (one cent) contributed. At hard-launch (starting on New Years) the contribution amount / eShare will incrementally rise with each contribution received at what equates to an overall rate of a one cent increase for every 100K (in USD or equivalent raised).  For example, once 100K is raised, then each eShare will require a $.02 (two cent) donation.  After the contribution campaign ends (a month after approx $1.5 million has been raised), the total supply of eShares will be fixed and no new eShares will be created or exist (besides an additional 10% added to the total supply, w/ 5% going to the eCoin Project and 5% to the eShares Foundation.

eShares enables the creation of eCoin (in which the supply of eCoin will be elastic) and will also be used to provide price stability to eCoin by utilizing smart contacts on an internal exchange market that incorporates decentralized price feeds.  (It is too much to explain how this system is intended to work in this thread, so I direct you to check out the project proposal paper at http://www.ecoinproject.org).

No premine - the eCoin System will be 100% proof-of-stake (right now we are planning on DPOS). However, we are planning on reserving 5% of total eShares for the eCoin Project and 5% for the eShares Foundation, where these funds will be used for the continuing support of the eCoin System.

To briefly describe the eShares Foundation, it will be a nonprofit representative body of eShares holders, where the board members will be chosen directly by eShares holder who vote internally on the eCoin System.

ICO - in return for contributions, those who contribute to the eCoin Project will reserve eShares, which will be distributed to them when the eCoin System is released.

Please post any others and we will try answer them.

Brief update:  Just a quick update (in the absence of any real news in the past few weeks) to let everyone know that we have been working hard on the project. In large part this has included working on an updated version of the project proposal paper and the website in preparation for the contribution campaign hard-launch.  We will be provide a more detailed update on this and other updates next week.

Reminder for those interested in getting eShares:  the contribution campaign hard-launch will take place at the beginning of the New Year (Jan. 1 2017).  Once that occurs, the contribution amount for each eShare will incrementally go up as each contribution is received.  In other words, those who contribute early will get more eShares per contribution than those who contribute later.  If you know you will want some eShares, then now is the best time to contribute.

eCoin Project in the Press: Paul Glass, Project Leader for the eCoin Project was interviewed earlier this month for an article in BTCManager.  Check it out at the following link:  https://btcmanager.com/news/creating-a-better-bitcoin-paul-glass-bold-bet/

For those who are celebrating the holidays, Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah.  Safe travels to all!

almost all the threads since Lisk launched many ICO held until now, but everyone has a different concept and vision, I think the need to look more deeply before following the ICO, the main thing is where the team introduced Smiley

We are still in the early stages of the project and are currently building the team.  Once the team if finalized, we will be posting this on the https://www.ecoinproject.org website, as well as updating it here on bitcointalk.

Is this coming from the e-coin debit card company ? Otherwise the debit card should post here disclaiming their association with this project because of the trade mark similarity.

I doubt it different logo and very unlikely.

We are not in any way affiliated with the debit card company formally known a E-Coin (now called Wirex - https://wirexapp.com/)

Someone pointed this out us last night on Reddit.

Mr. Robot.  eCoin - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHOAKWzDH-Q&feature=youtu.be

"IS this the future? It may very soon be if we allow it!"

Given the name similarities to our project with that of the Mr. Robot episode of a couple months ago (no we did not plan this), we wish to point out that our goal is to create eCoin as new crypto that is entirely free of fiat currency and the current monetary, banking, and financial system.  We believe that a crypto which provides price stability, transactional privacy, and democratic governance (i.e. stakeholder control) is only true answer to the problem of centralized control of our money.

Hi, good luck with the project! If Russian translation is in plan I would like to reserve it. Thanks

Thanks.  We will be posting bounties on the website as the project develops.  We will announce this when it happens both here and at https://www.ecoinproject.org
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] eCoin Project website launch [ICO] on: November 12, 2016, 08:57:54 AM

Alright, my failure then. And about e-coin, the domain (e-coin.io) remains up which can lead to a poor SEO. I don't know how you might solve that problems, but I definitely see a consistent project. Good luck with it.

For the lazy people: https://www.sos.state.co.us/biz/BusinessEntityDetail.do?quitButtonDestination=BusinessEntityResults&nameTyp=ENT&entityId2=20161458522&srchTyp=ENTITY&fileId=20161458522&masterFileId=20161458522

No worries.  Appreciate you looking into it.  Smiley

Will there be any bounties?

Yes.  There will be bounties.  We are very much in the early phases and still building the team.  In the near future, we will be creating a new "jobs" page on the https://www.ecoinproject.org website.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] eCoin Project website launch [ICO] on: November 12, 2016, 08:37:36 AM
I wonder why you haven't searched the name on Google before jumping into the void. I guess that's the first step while creating a name for a project or a company.
Well, at least if you are clever, you can promote it into the Mr. Robot's community, maybe someone is a potential investor.
Cheers,

The name was chosen long before Mr. Robot ever mentioned the name ecoin.

From looking into it, that episode aired about two months ago:  https://steemit.com/mrrobot/@titusfrost/mr-robot-s-ecoin-v-s-bitcoin

We definitely did a name search, all that was found was Wirex, formally known as E-Coin (a name that they abandoned with their rebranding).

If want, you can check the Secretary of State's website for State of Colorado, and you will see that we registered on the 4th of July 2016 (months before the Mr. Robot episode you refer to).

The name similarity is nothing more than a very, weird irony.

So besides the high level statements can you share some details, especially technical details in your announcement post?

Would like to check it as well. A github url would be good to see so post it here and the rest of the details. I'm careful not to shout scam here since you sure are pretty careful also creating this moderated thread.  Grin  but i can understand if you delete this.

We have no interest in deleting critical threads.  Moderation is set to prevent hostile or abusive behavior.

A new ico again,as i know about that every day a new ico is coming. that's so hurt in my mind and for all.  Shocked Roll Eyes

because everyone tries to grab some easy money... I am wondering for all these ICOs, is there a watch of how the funding is used? or the scammers just took the money and disappeared??   Grin

Agreed.  There are too many scams, and fraudulent B.S. that is going on in the crypto world.

We are a registered Limited Liability Company operating out of Colorado.  If you check the project proposal, it has my REAL name, and reputation, on the line.

Another coin name based on MR Robot!!!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mr._Robot_(TV_series)

The other shitcoin was ALLSAFETOKEN!

http://mrrobot.wikia.com/wiki/Allsafe_Cybersecurity

Getting tired of these MR ROBOT Themed coins, especially if they are going to be scam coins.

So for potential investors..watch out!

Pretty sad to say (goes to show how pop culture illiterate we are), but no one with the eCoin Project watches Mr. Robot.  We didn't find out about the name similarity until after announcing on reddit earlier today.

See, e.g.

True . . . too many ICOs.  Still, we are not trying to create some type of crap/copycat coin.  eCoin has specific goals, with a thought out plan.  Please check out the site and paper to see what we're trying to do.

Is this coming from the e-coin debit card company ? Otherwise the debit card should post here disclaiming their association with this project because of the trade mark similarity.

No, we are not in any way affiliated with the debit card company formally known a E-Coin (now called Wirex - https://wirexapp.com/)

not enough information in your ann thread you must put in details regarding with your working project so that investor and other people of this community will be interested in your project.

I think this is another shit ICO!

We agree that we need more info and a better ANN thread.  This will be updated and changed.  The ANN thread is so sparse, and not pretty right now because our intention is to simply announce this project as soon as possible so everyone gets the same chance at finding out about it at the same time (already promoting on other sites).  More info will be added to ANN, in the meantime,

Some of the technical details are included on the website and within the project paper (link for the paper just placed at the top).  Hope that helps.
