Okay goatpig, thanks so much.
The scanning is so much quicker ! Truly amazing.
Best wishes

I have no idea whether the funds came from the same batch as the recently spent funds, but it's possible.
update:
-coin control did not help
-at the bottom right "Unconfirmed": the amount of supposedly unconfirmed funds is exactly the amount I cannot spend. Those transactions are years old and are super confirmed.
it just did it again: right after sending BCH the under-reported balance appears and I can't spend but a little bitcoin dust. Tried to access the spend window all both sides (wallet properties, send bitcoins, and double clicking wallet) and no luck. I will restart and the problem may go away again.
thank you for the tips
I am sure I was trying to spend from the right wallet.
- I do see the transactions - The total balance on the wallet is correct - when I am in the sending window, on the left, it says "spendable BTC", this is the figure that is often very low, and when this happens I cannot spend coins beyond the tiny spendable amount.
Right now I checked again, not by double clicking on the wallet, but by using the left side button "send bitcoins" and the funds are available again. I don't know if this is a coincidence but if it happens again I will check if by accessing the wallet this way it solves the problem.
Thanks Andrew

Hi Guys Armory seems to be stuck organizing the blockchain, but maybe it is just doing its thing? How long can this take? Linux Debian 64 bit Armory 96.1.2 BitcoinABC for Bcash freshly downloaded databases, armory was online this morning and after restoring wallets it has been acting out. logs here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/78527e1vt8nbfdj/armorylog_20170811_1226.txt?dl=0Thanks !
yes, I just found that work-around as well. Thank you !
actually, transactions just confirmed and still cannot produce receive address
Hi guys So, I am waiting for a transaction to confirm and I have an issue to report: while the outgoing transaction has enough confirms, I wanted to receive bitcoins and generate a receive address, so I click on wallet properties, then click on receive bitcoins, a little pop up window says "loading" and then it closes itself without giving me the receive address. No way to get a receive address. On the main armory window, the address has a blue hue while this is happening. for logs https://www.dropbox.com/s/xiqff2cgie11i20/armorylog_20170806_1239.txt?dl=0thanks

I would like to interview one of the developers from Armory. This is my youtube channel where the interview will be posted: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuCcufFDdrBOfWkmv8RVLNQyou can contact me on twitter @futuregravy or I will be checking my messages in this forum in the next few days. Thanks Rod

Thanks Goatpig
The file /home/rojaslee/.bitcoin/bitcoin.conf was not to be found so I opted to control Bitcoin-QT separately.
Thanks for helping the troubleshoot. Best wishes
Rod

Bitcoin QT is not installed globally so I can't really run it from the terminal like that, or I don't know how to do it. Do you need me to install it globally?

i dont know where you got the idea that armory + some name would have any effect.
in Debian Linux if you get "command not found" then you usually need to call the name of the program first. Did you want those commands in separate terminals as before? or one after the other in the same terminal?
