1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is Ethereum-Wallet.net A Scam? on: May 31, 2017, 11:03:59 AM
I have received a private message from one of the people on this thread who has lost a lot of money via the ethereum-wallet.net con. I am going to reply publicly to his two questions so as to help anyone else too, sorry if any of this info is just a repeat of that already posted:

The guy who runs the ethereum-wallet.net rip off is called David Fuu or David Fu. The email addresses I used to contact him (can't vouch they work now): davidfuu[AT]gmail.com (tip: google search that email address) and ethereum.contact[AT]gmail.com. I found his name via whois of some of the websites he runs (all backlinks to ethereum-wallet.net seem to be from his sites, though most have privacy protection). Since I got my money back all that time ago he has covered his criminal tracks more. You need to get law enforcement involved, how much is this guy stealing?! It won't stop until he is behind bars. Good luck.

They are not stuck they are stolen. I know you private messaged me, but I am afraid I don't have all his info anymore. This is the best I can do: His first name was David, he is Canadian possibly I think. I did a search on his website's name and studied the whois etc for all the backlinks to his website to find his name. Most are blocked but the process chucked up his name. All the backlinks are from his own websites. If I recall it was a short asian surname. His personal twitter account is: https://twitter.com/sixdegreesofsea
I harrassed him by email, which i think may be on his website anyway, (ethereum.contact@gmail.com) and also on twitter. However he has now blocked me on twitter and more importantly he has made his personal twitter account private. He'll probably delete it altogether after he reads this. The guy is an outright thief who should be in a prison cell. The police should identify the guy in the youtube video that is promoting his website, no doubt someone paid by "David" to read a script for that video. As that video has a person's face, maybe show it to the US and / or Canadian police. Sorry, I cant help further than that - I have spilled all my info. If the surname crops up somewhere I will post that too, but I think I lost it as it was on his personal twitter account, not any more.

He has now returned the ETH, took some threats to get it to happen.

Thanks, that's a good idea. I have threatened to report the guy for fraud. ETH not returned. This is his twitter account: https://twitter.com/EthereumWallets

The gmail email on it does work as I got one response about ETC I sent to one address on the wallet. But not returned and the request to have ETH, which is a lot, withdrawn has been met with total silence. It seems the withdrawal procedure does not actually work, deliberately. Just triggers a page saying 'wait for transaction to process' and it never does. This is a homemade website and I got suckered in by his promotional video, so stupid.

He is playing a very dangerous game. Pretending to be a wallet. A wallet would have automated withdrawal procedure. He is taking money by deception and this sort of scam potentially carries serious jail time. I have a couple of screenshots from the promotional videos he has had made, one of them may even be him. At worst both the guy in one and the girl in the other will know him because this is a one-man band operation, no doubt. I will report him to USA and Canadian authorities for fraud. I suspect, although he is pretending to be Seattle that he may be Canadian from one of his early twitter posts.

I now see the same guy has also opened: bitcoin-wallet.net
A second scam in the making?

Anyone had any personal experience with ethereum-wallet.net? I still can't withdraw.

I can not get my ether out of Ethereum-Wallet.net and they do not, to date, respond to support emails. Does anyone know if this website is a scam? They hold the private key, not good. I also see there is a poster called AstralWonder on this forum who spams links to them in most of his posts. An internet search shows a lot of forum and comment spam and the odd sponsored post pointing to Ethereum-Wallet.net - and not much else at all. The site is not on https and whois is hidden behind a panama address. I am concerned they are simply a scam?
8  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Crypto Capital Do Not Pay on: November 18, 2016, 07:59:45 PM
Update: After posting here and on another forum, and using twitter, I got a result today. Probably not a coincidence. Kraken support stated that Crypto Capital confirmed the payment had never even been sent. Conclusion: Crypto Capital are definitely having some major problems operating their service, so seriously avoid them. Anyway Kraken managed to get the 'payment' cancelled and put the 12,000 euro funds back into my Kraken account. Kraken not to blame, though I had to get fairly persuasive and public to get this resolved. Crypto Capital really have been telling pork pies - do not touch them, it is too stressful! Thank you guys for your feedback.

Thank you for your feedback. The exchange I use is Kraken. Crypto Capital Corp is one of their payment options, I think probably a less used one than many. Kraken appear to have many such firms according to jurisdiction and currency, to help facilitate the withdrawals. That is understandable. I know Kraken have their own personal bank to do payments too, though they are not ideal for every scenario. However if you have the choice I would stick with Kraken rather than any third-party processor they offer. Nothing is risk free though. Hopefully I will get my money and Crypto Capital prove simply incompetent rather than criminal.

Thank you. I have posted a link to this thread from that one. As for the money, I guess I will look to the exchange itself to recoup my losses as Crypto capital are currently ignoring this issue and the exchange chose to use this rogue firm.

Just to let anyone reading this older thread know that there is a newer thread about Crypto Capital and a problem I have with them currently either due to their incompetence or a scam, either way my money is missing. Details here:

12  Economy / Exchanges / Crypto Capital Do Not Pay on: November 17, 2016, 01:19:35 AM
I just wanted to warn people not to use Crypto Capital (cryptocapital.co). A lot of bitcoin exchanges use them as one of their payment processors (you can see all the names on the Crypto capital website). I am a member of one of the bigger bitcoin exchanges who use them and I had several swift payments made from my account to my bank account, using Crypto Capital swift transfer. They all went well, until the latest one. I withdrew a five figure sum - that was a month ago, and I am still waiting for payment. First they said it was delayed because their bank asked about the payment, then they said it was definitely sent on November 3. Then it did not arrive and they have been delaying ever since. Of course I am dealing with the support for the exchange. The latest thing from Crypto Capital was that they had had a delay on all payments and now they had all been sent. I waited, not arrived. The exchange support copy and pasted the reply to me. It was pigeon-english vague nonsense. The exchange has been asking for a trace on my funds and the 'swift message' because my receiving bank says if they get that they can do a trace from their end too. All Crypto Capital have done is delayed and delayed, not done a trace, not answered the exchange support's questions. It really is very fishy and now begins to feel like a scam or a warning that all is not well with this company. The reason I post this is to warn any of you not to choose Crypto Capital (panama based company) when withdrawing funds from any of the bitcoin exchanges. I have had a month of stress and it is not resolved yet. The reason I am not mentioning the exchange's name is because it is ongoing and they are still chasing Crypto Capital every day in a bid to try to recover my five-figure sum. Trust me, you will know them.
