1  Economy / Speculation / Re: The BTC market is becoming like the alt pump and dump game on: October 09, 2014, 10:04:31 PM
I predicted all of this. Read my latest posts.

Sub 250 coming by Monday. Mark my words.

Like every other bear on this forum, they'll say it's a "lucky guess" (even if you have a consistent record of predictions) and you'll be marked as a "troll" for your troubles.

I haven't been following this place much lately, but it seems like most of the people still hanging around here at this point are the bitcoin faithful.

Why are you people still selling?? Fundamentals have not changed at all! Are the weak hands really shaken that easily? So stupid.

I'll be retired by 33.

I save 75-80% of my income currently, have plans to build a house within the next year (eco home made with earthbags, very low cost)

Once I remove my housing  costs I will easily save 90%+ of my income.

By 33 I will be financially independent (have enough to never work again) but I will continue working, or i'd get bored.

My plan is to continue til about 40, then Ill have way more money than I need, and I can take up something interesting and expensive like diving without worrying about paying for it.

Do you have a wife and kids? I'm guessing no.

I'm seeing a disturbing trend of many bearish posts and topics being deleted and banned by the moderators here. How do you expect to have an open conversation about bitcoin if people are allowed to write "omg!11eleven!1 bitcoin to $1 million by 2016!!" but if fallllllling or whoever writes that it's going to drop in value, he gets banned?

That's seriously fucked up. Especially since he's been mostly RIGHT for weeks.

who says 1 bitcoin = 1 million in 2 years?

SlipperySlope and Risto have tried to make cases for it with their bullshit trend lines, yet they're still here. Somehow they get a free pass to spam bullish nonsense, but I guess that's because this forum is at heart a practice in mass delusion. Y'all want to believe that you're going to get rich with your digital tokens, so you're willing to tolerate bulltrolls, but not beartrolls.

I don't agree with it, but that's the nature of this community I suppose.

"Currency of the future" being dumped again  Cheesy

2014, the year of bitcoin!  Roll Eyes
8  Economy / Speculation / Re: Lets get one thing straight: there will NOT be a run-up anytime soon on: August 29, 2014, 06:25:37 PM
You lost it all because you didn't had the balls to hold I guess. You guys seem not to learn. You should learn from Warren Buffet. When he bought the Washington Post stocks he lost a lot of money, then 10 years later the 10K invested turned into 380K, except in 10 years these 7K dolllars will be 700K

Quote from: Warren Buffet
Stay away from [bitcoin]. It's a mirage, basically.
9  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin end up just like Litecoin? on: August 28, 2014, 09:34:21 PM
Bitcoin is too big to fail! I think I've heard that before somewhere.
10  Economy / Speculation / Re: I PANICKED on: August 28, 2014, 06:34:29 PM
when it drops. Investing in bitcoin in 2014 is about one of the worst investment decisions anyone could make. You'd be better off investing your life savings in Solyndra.

Stop being so dumb.  Hindsight says you could have made shitload in this market during 2014.

This is the dumbest thing I've heard here today. You can make a shitload of money in any market if you had psychic powers and knew exactly how the market would move.

The prominent investment strategy on this forum is to HODL!!1!, and anyone who was dumb enough to take it to heart has lost 50% of their portfolio since the beginning of this year.

Try not to panic sell now if it drops.

12  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next boom within 3-4 months tops on: August 28, 2014, 05:50:26 PM
Oh look. Another "boom will happen again soon because... bitcoin" post. Many like you have come and gone this year, and all predictions have been wrong.

Welcome to my ignore.
13  Economy / Speculation / Re: OMG sell now before it is too late we are going to zero! on: August 27, 2014, 11:37:45 PM
Gotta love the logic in this forum. I show this place to my economics major friends at school sometimes and it always ends with us rolling on the floor laughing, gasping for air. So here's another gem:

Look guys, the value of the euro relative to the dollar has fallen THREE PERCENT this year, so that totally rationalizes the 60% drop we've seen in bitcoin so far relative to the dollar this year!!

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy  like the opinion of some "economics majors" at some C rate community college means anything.  Especially when they've chosen to associate themselves with you!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

This is a very prestigious school, for your information. Everyone has heard about the failure of MtGox and the arrest of the Bitcoin CEO, but most of them have no idea that this forum exists. I showed it to my math teacher. He put on his reading glasses, laughed and then cleaned the glasses (perhaps he thought he was misreading) and then told me that this community strikes him as an "academic case of mass delusion".  Cheesy

15  Economy / Speculation / Re: ECB to start quantitative easing. Bitcoin beyond the moon? on: August 27, 2014, 07:47:19 PM
And why would people ditch their fiat, which has a historically low, steady inflation rate for bitcoin, which has dropped in value 50% since the start of the year with no end in site?

See, you guys need to stop and think about this shit for a moment.

What is the difference between a sure loss and a 99.9% chance of winning?

I wouldn't call bitcoin a "sure loss"... but at this point I'd say it has a good 50% (if not more) of fading to obscurity. The upside potential isn't nearly as fantastic as the pumpers here would like you to believe.

Also, keeping your money in fiat isn't "winning" but at least it's safe.

17  Economy / Speculation / Re: I am so incredibly bored of bitcoin on: August 26, 2014, 08:35:47 PM
A year ago, we were all expecting big things. Now, we're all awaiting an ETF... so people have another method to buy bitcoin... because bitcoin.

Don't expect much to happen for a long time. If you you're expecting to make money, you're going to be disappointed.
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: It only takes breaking the psychological barrier of 1K twice to go several moons on: August 26, 2014, 06:28:27 PM
So we need to break the "psychological barrier" of 1k not once... but twice? *Then* it's lift off?

Wow, now I'm sold on the future of bitcoin. How could anyone argue that?
19  Economy / Speculation / Re: We have lift off! on: August 26, 2014, 06:15:23 PM
This was posted in may so theyre clearly not referring to the rise off the bottom today or yesterday. But you don't care probably.

Just calling out the bullshit on this forum for all the impressionable new people so that they can see "rocket lift off" declarations are posted every week. But alas, we'll continue to fall in value.
20  Economy / Speculation / Re: We have lift off! on: August 26, 2014, 04:51:43 PM
Price rallies slightly and now we're only $100 lower than one month ago.

It's lift off gois!!1
