Was there no one able to respond to this?

This would seem better as a wiki, honestly.

It is good information, but quite a tl;dr.

So it is really a measure of post counts / age on the site.

Please consider this my request to be whitelisted.

I have been mining bitcoins for some time, and have just moved my rig over to litecoins.  I'm currently running a 6 x 7950 GPU miner on litecoins and have questions to ask burnside related to his pool.

Many thanks.

Very reasonable... but I have to agree... this is a little extreme for most users.

If you are a hard core BTC or [ltc] trader... take these precautions.  If you are a casual user... back up your wallet.  That is about all you need to do.

Answer is yes... rooms full of hardware. Hot hardware.   Grin

Fact is you can get various kH/s from different boards, but in my situation I run at about 500kH/s with a single 7950 GPU for litecoins.  All you have to do is multiply it out.  Well, that and $$. Smiley

My current miner holds 6 x 7950s and produces about 3 Mh/s.

As of right now, as the ASICS are entering the market, BTC are moving from the Mh/s to Gh/s.  Odds are that unless you are in the Gh/s you are going to be banging your head against the wall with the block solve times for BTC.

That being said, 500kH/s is not a bad place to be for litecoins.  Keep cooking those processors!

6 x 7950s @ 500Mh/s for Bitcoins.  3Gh/s Total.
6 x 7950s @ 500kh/s for Litecoins. 3Mh/s Total.

Been mining for some time... and just bought a new stand alone rig.  Litecoins now... bitcoins are going to be a problem even with my 6x7950s

Hey!

Seems that 6 confirmations is about normal.  Roughly 20minutes for me.
