3  Economy / Goods / Re: buy beef with bitcoins on: March 10, 2014, 04:21:09 AM
I raise pasture fed angus beef in Missouri. To buy with bitcoins directly from the farm, e mail me at andelinpaul@hotmail.com. I am working on a website. I think this is a quality product.

what chemicals do you use on your pasture? do you use glyphosphate for weed control?
do you cut your own hay? do you use chemical fertilizers? do you use a rotational paddock
system? does your ranch have any organic certifications?

smart to grow angus they bring the highest prices
4  Economy / Goods / Re: buy beef with bitcoins on: March 10, 2014, 04:16:07 AM
there was someone on here over a year ago selling range fed beef. i think it is ridiculous to come down on someone who is not a geek for not knowing the protocol for selling online. if you don't trust him use an escrow. if you want a bitcoin economy you have to work at it and not intimidate people who want to enter it. he is a rancher not a geek

grow up
5  Economy / Economics / Re: Who owns and controls the Federal Reserve? on: March 10, 2014, 03:41:19 AM
Yes the media makes them seem like part of the Gov, but they are not.

Most of the Fed profits are handed over to the US Treasury, so it knows who the boss is, but Congress is treated with contempt by the Fed.

" give me control of a nation's money and i care not who makes its laws" mayer amschel bauer

who gives a shit about a few basis points of profits when trillions go through the fomc and the discount window?

I wish I was one of the representative of the Rothschild dynasty  Cheesy

in the old days the rothschilds were not permitted to marry outside the family. i think we all know what happens to genetics at that point
7  Economy / Economics / Re: What going on with BTC prices? Its getting me a little worried. on: March 10, 2014, 12:08:32 AM
Hi everyone

What is going on with BTC prices? Its getting me little scared that the price is dipping by the day. Is there panic going beside the Gox issue, and Nakamoto issue?

if you are worried i will give you $500 a piece for your coin. after all they could be $400 in the morning
8  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: March 10, 2014, 12:06:00 AM
obviously gold would be the safe bet and bitcoin the risky. With gold having had thousands of years of maintained value and bitcoin being a few years old and extremely volatile.

in 1971 gold was $35 an ounce. it went up to over $800 in the early 80's then crashed to around $250. a few years ago it almost hit $2000. it then dropped into the $1,100 range. now what was it you were saying about volatility?

14  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Official Money Lost in Mt. GOX Thread on: February 25, 2014, 06:37:32 AM
due to the damage done the loss is incalculable.

the business world functions on the law of the jungle.

there are three professors who will teach you that law.
mt gox is one of those professors.

such a brilliant idea brought down by either scammers or incompetents

the results are the same either way
15  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Official Money Lost in Mt. GOX Thread on: February 25, 2014, 06:31:59 AM
Gox made me an offer that I cant refuse. Gox declined to verify my account.

took 2 months to verify my acct. at that point it was apparent they were not to be trusted this was almost a year ago.
if anyone in the last year dealt with them they can only blame themselves.

the principals of mt gox will not be able to find a rock big enough to hide under.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Solar powered Bitcoin mining!? on: February 23, 2014, 12:42:28 AM
I've looked into the this.  problem is that solar is less cost efficient that electricity coming through your socket, most of the time.

Now, power generated by a water turbine, if you have access to moving water, is another story altogether.

there are a handful of different types of alternative energy, although I still haven't found anything that is more cost effective than power coming in through the sockets already.

could be wrong and if anyone has any bright ideas, I'm all ears.
[/size]

There is the very important issue of ecosystem impact of the turbines. In the Mekong river for example many people have and will fall into poverty (Because of damming of the river in many key parts, a physical barrier for fish and other such effects) as well as many rare species will disappear (including a dolphin species).

Look it up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dC07S8QuSlw (Ruthless damming of Mekong river could displace millions)

Nuclear is by far the best option.

true.

I was talking on a personal level, if someone is lucky enough to have a stream or river running through the backyard they can pretty inexpensively implement a solution that might actually save them some money.

micro hydro is the best form of personal energy generation

as far as i know the irs has made no determination on bitcoin and how it should be taxed. can someone post something directly from the irs that states unequivocally whether it should be taxed as income, an asset , ie capital gain etc.?
