1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX580 mining ETH - 20MH on naked Ubuntu 25MH on EthOS - why? on: February 01, 2018, 01:41:56 PM
Ethos uses the OSS drivers but with the opencl components from the closed-source part.
with some patches to really overclock all components.

I used to do this on ubuntu myself, but way to much effort.

is there a way to have the bot and web interface run on my headless linux VM in my network.
And still reach it from my other pc that has a browser on it.
So make the gui listen to 0.0.0.0 and not localhost?

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: www.nvminer.com is this a scam? on: August 16, 2017, 02:46:49 PM
my dad always told me, if it's to good to be true, it probably is.

most 6 gpu rigs will set you back about 2000 usd.

and they are selling a 8 rig for the price of what you normally build a 6 gpu rig?
with integrated switch, and rack chassis.

for all that the price should be closer to 3000 usd

for me this sounds like a scam,

I'm happy to test one, if they want and give a review.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / share linux overclock script on: May 15, 2017, 08:46:42 AM
can anyone share their linux overclock script they use with their RX serie.
Overclocking works with ethos. But i wanna run a vanilla Ubuntu. and always get the dreaded:

Fixed it......

In open hardware monitor it was not enabling the remote web server.

Fix go under options in open hardware monitor and click run under options>Remote Web Server

This was the fix for me, now the miner doesn't throw the error anymore

I have the same issue on of of my 4 card rigs and it appears to be related to Open Hardware Monitor not opening it's port and not writing the log file.

you know where it should write this logfile?

anyone knows how to fix the error:

HardwareMonitor Log file doesn't exist
and the other one:
You must use the default api port at your miner.

more detail?
that shows you have no open api port at your miner.
at claymore you must use the default 3333 api port

mport.txt 3333
settings >> config editor > -mport 3333

disable your firewall
check your browser: 127.0.0.1:3333
if you are not using claymore, open proxy/socket.exe
127.0.0.1:4444 check this url on your browser its opening.

I have the same issue on 3 fresh installed miners,
Firewalls are disabled, and i can access port 3333

everything seems to work fine, except for the Watchdog.
If i disable it, all runs fine.
If enabled every 6 min it will reboot my rig.
so if i boot up my 3 rigs at the same time, they nicely get rebooted by the WD at the same time.

Openhardware monitor is running fine, changed the uac to not ask anymore

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Rigreset: opensource mining rigreset + web gui on: March 23, 2017, 04:19:56 PM
Hey guys,

Just wanted to give you a heads up of a little project i'm working on.
As a miner i sometimes need to hard reboot a miner, and as my miners are not next to me, i wanted something to be able to this this for me.

What i have for now is the following:

Raspberry pi + relay (max 16 port) or custardpi v6 relayboard
Hookup the relays to your power button header of the mainboard.

a small python client runs on the miner (windows and Linux)
and sends a hart beat to a rest api endpoint that runs on the raspberry pi.

On the raspberry pi there is a django webinterface running that shows you the results of the rest api. and shows you the status of your rigs.
And you can enable automatic reboots of your rigs if the HB fails a number of times or send reset, shutdown, and start commands to certain rigs manually.

A preview of how the interface looks for now.
This is mockup so don't mind the date values i still need to put the real values there from the db.

API view:

admin backend:

let me know what you think of it for now, and what features i should maybe add, and if people are interested to assist me let me know.
I'm still pretty new to programming.

But would like to download it for myself and flash from my ubuntu OS.
A link would be nice.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / claymore's ethereum mining difference reported and pool hash on: March 01, 2017, 09:31:53 AM
hi can someone explain me why i see 30+ Mhs with claymores but if i check my pool i get only 155MHs for 6 cards and should have around 180Mhs.
I know about the dev fee but that doesn't make up for the difference.
It's also not stale shares and not the pool, as i have tried multiple.
And on everyone claymore tells me i'm doing more hashes then the pool ever sees.

I tried gateless gate and sgminer and they all report lower hashes then claymores, around 27Mhs per card.
But then my reported and pool hash are almost the same.

so the questions: I claymores inflating the hashes?
Am i doing something wrong to get the real hashrate out of claymores?

Regards
Pascal

can't create a worker.

can fill in any name and click the button, but the button doesn't do anything.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v8.0 (Windows/Linux) on: February 26, 2017, 01:18:14 PM
bit confused here.

do i need to put -nofee 1 or -nofee 0 to still donate?
as from what i understand if you don't donate your speed will be lower.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX480 gpu0 reports 4Mh/s only on linux on: January 29, 2017, 07:20:56 AM
anyone?
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX480 gpu0 reports 4Mh/s only on linux on: January 28, 2017, 08:57:50 AM
already had a monitor on it, same rig with windows 10 no issues.
tried it with a X session on the monitor and without.
no difference.
and it's always gpu0
enabled the onboard intel graphics to use with the monitor so that no screen was attached to any of the cards, same issue
if i swap cards around it's always gpu0 with the crappy hashrate, seems like it never goes to mode 7 even when putting the card in manual mode and setting mode 7, it doesn't take.
and what ever i do to over or underclock, i always get this message in dmesg:

VDDCI is larger than max VDDCI in VDDCI Voltage Table!

tried with drivers 16.40 till 16.60

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / RX480 gpu0 reports 4Mh/s only on linux on: January 27, 2017, 06:09:27 PM
hi guys,

I have a weird problem i can't figure out.
i have a 5 GPU rig running on windows with claymore 7.4 nicely hashing at 30.1Mh/s
I now want to do the same but under linux using the AMDGPUPRO drivers

all seems fine running ubuntu 16.04
however without overclocking i get these values:
ETH: GPU0 4.176 Mh/s, GPU1 26.804 Mh/s, GPU2 26.776 Mh/s, GPU3 26.778 Mh/s, GPU4 26.868 Mh/s

I tried this with ubuntu 16.04, ethos, simplemining.
They all have the same issue GPU0 is super slow.

I also see the following difference when i check the clocks:

piwi@gpuminer01:~$ cat /sys/class/drm/card2/device/pp_dpm_mclk
0: 300Mhz
1: 2000Mhz *
piwi@gpuminer01:~$ cat /sys/class/drm/card0/device/pp_dpm_mclk
0: 300Mhz
1: 2000Mhz

Any clue how to fix this and gpu0 mining normally, like it does on windows.
It's also not the card, switching cards doesn't help.

I wanna try the new gcminer for s9
