Pretty sure to start we're going to be SHA-256 because we are forking CRW which is originally a fork of BTC. CRW also does dual mining with BTC which we are planning on as well.

Just for a fun social experiment I am having unbiased individuals write reports on Crown to describe to me how they see it. Here is one of the first reports that came in - just to give everyone an idea of how people view CRW as a project

MY UNDERSTANDING ON CROWN
One word comes to my mind when I started exploring CROWN for the first time and that is “Revolution”. This revolution has a capability of changing economies of world on the basis of decentralization. The Power of decision making lies with each and every individual rather than handful of people. I am sick of one day democracy when I cast my vote and on other days I am powerless. I want to breathe democracy on a daily basis which is peer to peer. This desire is a distant dream if we continue to live with traditional approach. The CROWN of Blockchain technology offers us a golden opportunity of life-time which not only changes our lives and outlook, but also traces light on loopholes of Traditional Centralised System which we are forced to adopt due to the lack of any alternatives. Now we have alternatives. Then what are we waiting for?

I am very new to the world of blockchain Technology and knew nothing about it before. I heard about Bitcoin, but didn’t know what it was. In my part of world we are still obsessed with Paytm and never think beyond it. I had a vague idea about Bitcoin that it was a Digital currency. The term ‘Cryptocurrency’ sounds too technical to my ears. To clear my doubts, I started browsing those web pages which give informations on Blockchain Technology and Cryptocurrency. According to Don & Alex Tapscott, Authors of Blockchain Revolution (2016), “The Blockchain is an incorruptible digital ledger of economic transactions that can be programmed to record not just financial transactions but virtually everything of value.” Blockchain technology is like the internet in that it has a built-in robustness. By storing blocks of information that are identical across its network, the Blockchain cannot be controlled by any single entity and has no single point of failure. Wikipedia describes Cryptocurrency (or crypto currency) as a digital asset designed to work as a medium of exchange that uses cryptography to secure its transactions, to control the creation of additional units, and to verify the transfer of assets. Cryptography is a set of mathematical equations which are designed to make people get confused when they’re run forward. They only get clear when they’re run backward using special keys.

Crown (CRW) is a digital commodity and application platform for driving technical & financial innovation which uses both Blockchain technology and cryptography. Crown is more advanced than Bitcoin. The Crown project aims to become a global payment, messaging and application platform, enabling developers to build complex new economy applications and offering an efficient low transaction cost platform to store value, register ownership and manage contractual relationships.

The founders have a significant emotional investment in the project and a strong belief in the future of Blockchain technology which has seen continuous development and Crown coin rebranded to Crown with a new team of developers with a new vision, a global appeal and above all what we think is going to be a market changing product. The change to a new team was gradual and in stages. Some original team members left to work on other projects while others remained to keep the project alive and introduce new features such as Timestamping (an embedded notary function within Crown). Removing Darksend from Crown coin will aide in the objective of widespread legal compliance. Crown has also hired a high profile law firm which is planning to help the team to comply with all the US and EU regulations so Trons will continue to be a legally safe instrument to build a next generation business. The Crown team are united in the belief that proof of work consensus models are a waste of finite natural resources and that the future of Blockchain and cryptocurrency cannot depend on the use of millions of dollars of electricity every day. This is the main reason that Crown currently uses merge mining to piggyback and make use of already expended resources on the Bitcoin network. Crown is a masternode coin which is a decentralised system of governance and also a way to generate passive income.

It's always a hard situation when one of the largest holders of a coin decides to move on. I know STEEM went through a recent situation this Summer and after one of the founders left the project, it went on a rally to new all time highs (at least in $USD). Although I only met MDZ once at the Toronto event, he really stood out to me as a very bright individual - it was pretty clear to me that whatever project he works on, whether crypto or not, it was going to be a success.

With that being said, I'm still more excited than ever for the future of CRW. The only thing that pisses me off is not having more bitcoin right now to buy more CRW =p. Having one of the top holders of the coin sell out creates a great buying opportunity for those who want to come in next. People that have that have the opportunity to buy in now, not only get a kick ass price but they also get to buy in at a time when there is more ready to go than ever before. It's a win/win for new money. I myself am still very excited for what CRW has in store for 2018. CRW is clearly flying under the radar right now but as I've said to many others; CRW has one of the best teams in crypto that I've ever seen and if they are able to come together and accomplish what they are setting out to do, it will be a top project in crypto. Lets see where things go from here

Yup! We're seeing this with POWR this week that the market is hungry for new blockchain related tech. The workforce/freelance area doesn't have much exposure in this space today and Latium will be one of the first to market in this space. Big potential here

Funny you mention Latium because I was going to say the same thing. I don't do a lot of ICOs but I actually was looking for a solution similar to what it looks like Latium is provided to use for my business. Basically I'm looking to hire freelancers and pay with crypto for my business. So I know I'm actually going to be a user of their product once it hits the market.

Someone else mentioned a lot of gaming ICOs are hot right now and I like that space a lot too. It's so hard to tell with gaming ICOs what's going to stick and what is not. It's like investing in video games themselves - seems hard to pick winners.

I'll also throw out the energy space. I haven't done my due diligence on this project yet so DYOR but Envion looks pretty cool.

This is just my take on VIA, others can add their own opinion. Over the Summer VIA was working on implementing segwit with a handful of other coins (BTC/LTC/SYS/VTC) and now has been focusing on lightning network/atomic swaps, which is a feature all 5 coins (plus others) will soon have. Once LN is established, VIA is positioning itself to have anon feature in conjunction with atomic swaps - so it will bring an added value to BTC & LTC for anon transactions.

Aside from that, there are some other features being worked on that I won't be able to explain the benefit of well, because I'm not a techy guy; schnorr signature, color coins, etc. VIA also does merged mining with LTC, so there is an added benefit that it goes will with LTC similar to how LTC is often paired to BTC. I look at BTC = gold, LTC = silver, VIA = copper - and soon will have the added benefit of Styx (anon transactions).

Romano, keep up the A+ work man. Viacoin is one of the best developed coins in crypto right now. I can't wait to see where it's at in 2018 and years to come.
