Yep you are right lol had some Star Trek playing the background and I guess it slipped while typing.  It is an Block Erupter ASIC Miner USB.

Adding that line didn't fix the outcome. Sad  Pasted what you had and it had trouble loading the config file so put "--usb": "BAS:0, ICA:0" on the 4.11.1 (the one that runs the gekko science and still same issue as soon as I open up the other version of CG miner.

Thanks for all the help. Smiley  I don't have all those miners but didn't know if I had to include them else it would default to try to find them.  Only have 2 Butterfly labs jalapenos, 1 block disrupter and one gekko science.

Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to the command switches?  Sorry still new to this.

I am using Windows 10.  read through the read me and found something about limiting through driver.  However, when I save my config and try to run I can't tell it is limiting anything  Undecided  Below is my current config file.  Even when I set all the values to 0 it still mines like the line isn't there lol.  Is my syntax correct for that line?

Code:
{
"pools" : [
{
"url" : "stratum+tcp://us-east.stratum.slushpool.com:3333",
"user" : "[Redacted]",
"pass" : ""
}
],

"failover-only" : true,
"no-submit-stale" : true,
"api-listen" : true,
"api-port" : "4028",
"api-allow" : "W:192.168.1.0/24,W:127.0.0.1",
"--usb": "BAS:1,BFL:2,MMQ:0,ICA:0,KLN:0,AVA:0,BF1:0,DRB:0,HFA:0"

}

Hello All,

Relatively new to the mining scene and trying to learn with some USB sticks how to configure CG miner.  Ran into an issue.   I have CG miner version 4.10 that was running two BFL Jalpenos and a Block disruptor.  I recently acquired a NewPac BM1387.  All four devices are plugged into an Anker USB 3.0 external hub with a usb fan for active cooling.

CG Miner 4.10 didn't detect the Gekko miner but the link to their version did but didn't detect the other miners.  So Currently I have two instances of CG miner open (Version 4.10 for older miners and 4.11.1 for the Gekko Science one.

If the CG miners are ran solo the devices run fine however, if I try to run with both instances open I get an the following error "USB init open device failed, err -3 you don't have privilege to access - BSC device " on the CG miner 4.11.1.  Even while getting this error on the CG 4.11.1 miner the other miner (4.10.0) continues to run fine with no errors.

Any thoughts on that causes this behavior?    I tried to limit the number of USB devices on the first miner to see if that fixed it unfortunately it didn't.  Below is the config I am currently using for the CG 4.10 miner.

Code:
{
"pools" : [
{
"url" : "stratum+tcp://us-east.stratum.slushpool.com:3333",
"user" : "[Redacted]",
"pass" : ""
}
],

"failover-only" : true,
"no-submit-stale" : true,
"api-listen" : true,
"api-port" : "4028",
"api-allow" : "W:192.168.1.0/24,W:127.0.0.1",
"--usb" :"3"
}

What is the get apt command for Linux (ubuntu) for installation?

 I used the following command: apt-get install cgminer and it downloaded version 4.9.2 I see a version 4.10.0 on the Git site however.

Quick question.  I have been using BFGMiner on Windows and was going to use it on my Linux rig running Ubuntu.  I ran the apt command on the website but am unable to find the miner after it grabbed it.  Where does one find the folder?

No dice for me :-/  I somehow don't have a .conf file after installing the new wallet appears to have really messed things up.  I tried using the add node feature within the wallet by typing "addnode=107.170.173.232:12835" and I get method not found.

Thoughts?

It is connected via usb yep and has an ac adapter.  I believe they called it the jalapeno.  Works just fine with easy miner and always has but its getting time for my yearly redo of the computer and don't have a back up of the easy miner software installer.  So figured it was worth seeing if there was better software for it since the company is defunct.  I know its a little dated but I keep it running mainly because it doesn't cost me anything to run it since my home is passive solar so the power cost is negligible.  Unfortunately I got it when it first came out with a delay so paid more than I should have given the course of events.

A gui interface would be preferred if possible.  Any suggestions?
12  Bitcoin / Mining support / Butterfly Labs Easy Miner Software on: November 27, 2016, 09:23:48 PM
So I have a 5 giga hash butterfly labs miner device which when it came out used easy miner.  I imagine since the company is now defunct the software is getting dated and there are better options out there.  Does anyone have any recommendations on software to use for it?  If not does anyone have a link to the latest version of the software I saw a version on cnet but it didn't specify the version.
